I remember jumping off the ship, bayonet in hand just to save one poor sapper from being swarmed, he made it to the ship but i fell off in the last second. Truly a great game (apparently this blew up, internet connection in the afterlife was bad so i didn't reply until now)
I swear this song must have done something to the canon crew because for me and 2 other people we were firing 4 shots a minute while holding off the zombies. Best part was the fact that everyone survived-
I had this moment where me n the other 3 infantry as cannon crew, ship arrived. We we're getting overrun until a priest came in with a cruicfix to save us. But i got tackled by a runner to the water but the other 3 including the priest survived
1:15 every time I hear this I get reminded of the time me and someone were manning the canons, it was only the 2 of us there and the rest were in the docks. As we shot at the undead, we watched in horror as our comrades fall one by one. 1:45 we were the only people left alive and we stood our ground against the infected. 2:10 we were slowly getting overwhelmed by the undead and my partner pleaded that I should run. Being stubborn, I stood my ground and replied with "No man left behind". 2:30 as we slowly get devoured we got a glimpse of a ship passing by. Sadly, we weren't able to live to tell the tale. It was a very tragic experience and probably one of my most memorable moments on a video game.

@@J0e423 it’s the cycle of G&B when a new noob joins they don’t know, so when it’s final objective, players vote kick them if they trigger it early, but the noobs do it because they don’t understand. But when they get good at the game, another new noob who doesn’t understand the game repeats it making people vote kick when the noobs trigger the hoard. It’s pretty messed up when you think about it.
My biggest achievement here was when i light the lighthouse I was left to defend for myself and I spent a couple minutes as a distraction and when the boat came I quickly ran down and used my charge and I got onto the boat only me and 3 others survived
After playing this game for TEN MONTHS now, i became so used to bad teammates i dont know what to do about them anymore, bad teammates have always existed and will never disappear.
I always think that they're new and there's no sense in blaming them. I was playing Catacombes earlier and she apologized for talking to Jean early simply because she did not know.

You have made it far, by the time this song plays, a few brave soldiers rush to the front barricade and hold the zombies until being torn to shreds, the first barricade falls, the navy men take out their blunderbusses and try they're very hardest to hold of the remaining horde, you can see the ship coming in, you take out the saber and the second barricade falls, some will go forward to hold them off just a bit longer, they will die as the ship pulls in, you get on and defend from the horde that enters the ship, until it slowly moves away..
imagine this scene got replaced by an scene that's too "busy" cuz there's fighting in the lighthouse, arty crew shooting the cannons, and the soldiers in the docks.
I love that 90% of Vardøhus is very easy and short, but the final stand section is one of the hardest (well it also depends on your team) in the entire game.
When the game had only 2 maps (Vardohus Fortress and Hougoument) there was an effect in vardohus fortress where if you touch the snow too long, you'll get a frozen effect that affects your melee movement speed, it was removed to probably make the game more easier.
The 2 Only people who were brave enough to go man the cannons just jamming out to this while having the time of their life, while trying to set a world record for how fast they can load a cannon
My story We were all doing what we can to survive the massive hoards of undead we made a line of fire and even had one man manned on the cannons. Un til the hoard got to us There was only one man left alive to tell the tale...

@@GamingSoon0509You're near the Notre Dame bridge, waiting for a boat to sail at the Catacombs of Paris after waiting for the Deliverance from the Catacombs, as someone called Jean Louise settles us to wait for the ferrymen to carry himself, even thought my theory it was supposed to be for him to escape, you hear cannon firing, canistershots loading, swabs cleaning the inner and outer turrets of the cannons, as holding out tight through as the Inevitability of the hordes, runners, bombers, zappers, crawlers, as the shamblers continue to bite and infect the French seamen and tbe fifer men, as you land to the haybale, upon to the boat sailing, and as you have been delivered away from the Catacombs as in the outside and finally escaped the "Catacombes De Paris", as you wait for the ferrymen riding the horses to arrive, the bell has rung and the ferrymen are ordered to deliver you away from the catacombs.
I remember one of these battles. One of these last desperate attempts to escape the fortress in time. We prepared as hard as we could. And thus. The siege begun as hundreds of the illborn charged us. “SHOW THEM THE POWER OF THE COLD NORTH!” I called out. As I quickly evacuated to the bridge. The Cannoneers had possibly sacrificed to save more time. And rest of us got on board as one soul stayed to keep the illborn from boarding. It is one of many amazing battles I have ever seen playing this splendidly hard game.
This game when the lore is more settled would make such a good show or animation This is the perfect first episode for it, not much background to increase cost, a mostly unknown threat, even the uniqueness of the zombies being replused by religion and sometimes (before death of the infected) cured and being able to be killed without a proper headshot are so unique.
That would be a good idea, imagine if this first episode takes place on the fortress map, according to what you had said: The protagonist who takes up screen time makes the viewer assume his point of view, completely confused without knowing what is happening. Even so, he continues to just follow the orders of his superiors but cannot see much at first glance as he passes through the fortress because of the cold and blizzard, his companions from afar are facing a threat that he cannot identify. Then, when he finally arrives at the port, waiting for the ship to arrive and looking at the lighthouse lit, the line infantry soldier notices the behavior of his colleagues preparing the gunpowder for flintlock weapons and the sappers setting up barricades. Then the OST Four Seasons (Winter) starts playing, in that low and slow rhythm, the protagonist looks at the horizon of the place in fear without uttering any words to the point of making the viewer anxious, then the camera starts to move showing the other soldiers shooting and attacking something, the music starts to increase as the screen shows the other side of the conflict, where gray and cannibals people run aggressively against the survivors.
This one map is just the one who makes you selfless. Like, i literally went from the dock to the cannons, WITH TWO BOMBERS, ONE ZAPPER AND 4 SHAMBLERS, just to let the cannon crew live, after i used charge at the cannons, the cannon crew made it, but i got LEFT BEHIND AND KILLED. Also, the reason why i died is because one of the cannon crew members got swarmed so i had to save him, but i used a lot of my charge time and got swarmed by undead, i was one of the 4 casualties.
_The Boat is Here! Someone yells. “Gunpowder!” _*_BANG._*_ a Zombie with a Barrel blows in front of you. You feel your body lifting up. You feel free. You’re away from the Undead Paradise, you then wake up in a tent. Why? Why do I still have to live?_
Damn, for some reason the music fits perfectly into the Napoleonic era, It's a touch of emotion and honor, At the same time combining elegance and not even words are needed to say what it conveys.
I have a story for this map, i was in the spawn when the ship was about to arrive, i tried to go to the tunnel, i got grabbed, but out of nowhere a bomber saves me, and so i charge to the ship, im at the church zone, i get grabbed again and to my surprise, guess what? ANOTHER BOMBER SAVES ME! and now im at 0.1 HP, running to the docks, and everyone was like "HOW ARE YOU ALIVE??" Man, that was crazy.
i remember being one of the cannon crew protecting the people in the dock, my crew fall one by one until there were two of us left, when the ship was about to leave, both of us made a break for it, my comrade, led the horde away far enough for me to run thru, he died, but i lived, his action shall be remembered as one of the most memorable moment in my time at G&BP
the tension as bombers rush the port and cannoneers firing, officers activating charge, people all uncoordinated from the sheer amount of zombies rushing the port as you see the ship in the distance, it really captures the feel of the game.

Updated version: you spawn inside the basement. Dig the snow and go inside a window and dig more snow. Travel trough the town till you get to church. Let sappers finish and ring the bell. After holding out, clear the snowpile blocking the door to the pier. Wind up the lighthouse (DONT LIGHT IT YET) and let the sappers finish. After that, light the lighthouse and wait for the ship to arrive. The ship will not stop like the classic one and a respawn will happen as soon as the bow of the ship is at the pier. Players must be quick.

Well there's one feature called the (i forgot) That make melee has a slower movement, even the bayonets as i believe.
Maybe both the survivors and zombies will have this effect (for balance and realistic at the same time)

Usually i choose officer so that i can help the cannon crew escape via charging if theres no bombers fucking it up, usually only 2 or 1 people survive
i usually survive by crucifixing my way to the ship when it arrives.
Guts and Blackpowder really made me enjoy classical music during this era. There are just a lot of great pieces created during this time.
I remember one of these battles. One of these last desperate attempts to escape the fortress in time. We prepared as hard as we could. And thus. The siege begun as hundreds of the illborn charged us. “SHOW THEM THE POWER OF THE COLD NORTH!” I called out. As I quickly evacuated to the bridge. The Cannoneers had possibly sacrificed to save more time. And rest of us got on board as one soul stayed to keep the illborn from boarding. It is one of many amazing battles I have ever seen playing this splendidly hard game.

This game when the lore is more settled would make such a good show or animation
This is the perfect first episode for it, not much background to increase cost, a mostly unknown threat, even the uniqueness of the zombies being replused by religion and sometimes (before death of the infected) cured and being able to be killed without a proper headshot are so unique.
That would be a good idea, imagine if this first episode takes place on the fortress map, according to what you had said:
The protagonist who takes up screen time makes the viewer assume his point of view, completely confused without knowing what is happening.
Even so, he continues to just follow the orders of his superiors but cannot see much at first glance as he passes through the fortress because of the cold and blizzard, his companions from afar are facing a threat that he cannot identify. Then, when he finally arrives at the port, waiting for the ship to arrive and looking at the lighthouse lit, the line infantry soldier notices the behavior of his colleagues preparing the gunpowder for flintlock weapons and the sappers setting up barricades.
Then the OST Four Seasons (Winter) starts playing, in that low and slow rhythm, the protagonist looks at the horizon of the place in fear without uttering any words to the point of making the viewer anxious, then the camera starts to move showing the other soldiers shooting and attacking something, the music starts to increase as the screen shows the other side of the conflict, where gray and cannibals people run aggressively against the survivors.

This one map is just the one who makes you selfless.
Like, i literally went from the dock to the cannons, WITH TWO BOMBERS, ONE ZAPPER AND 4 SHAMBLERS, just to let the cannon crew live, after i used charge at the cannons, the cannon crew made it, but i got LEFT BEHIND AND KILLED.
Also, the reason why i died is because one of the cannon crew members got swarmed so i had to save him, but i used a lot of my charge time and got swarmed by undead, i was one of the 4 casualties.

Honestly, having the gameplay in the background and knowing what's happening gives such a bigger impact to the music for some odd reason for me.
I have a story for this map, i was in the spawn when the ship was about to arrive, i tried to go to the tunnel, i got grabbed, but out of nowhere a bomber saves me, and so i charge to the ship, im at the church zone, i get grabbed again and to my surprise, guess what? ANOTHER BOMBER SAVES ME! and now im at 0.1 HP, running to the docks, and everyone was like "HOW ARE YOU ALIVE??" Man, that was crazy.

i remember being one of the cannon crew protecting the people in the dock, my crew fall one by one until there were two of us left, when the ship was about to leave, both of us made a break for it, my comrade, led the horde away far enough for me to run thru, he died, but i lived, his action shall be remembered as one of the most memorable moment in my time at G&BP
the tension as bombers rush the port and cannoneers firing, officers activating charge, people all uncoordinated from the sheer amount of zombies rushing the port as you see the ship in the distance, it really captures the feel of the game.

Updated version: you spawn inside the basement. Dig the snow and go inside a window and dig more snow. Travel trough the town till you get to church. Let sappers finish and ring the bell. After holding out, clear the snowpile blocking the door to the pier. Wind up the lighthouse (DONT LIGHT IT YET) and let the sappers finish. After that, light the lighthouse and wait for the ship to arrive. The ship will not stop like the classic one and a respawn will happen as soon as the bow of the ship is at the pier. Players must be quick.
