- Power have had many connections and I've spoken about all of them with Tariq St Patrick's stealing theme and Shawn and Zeke. Power Book 2 Ghost seem to be connecting the dots to the original Power series in more ways than one and could the latest be Cane being Kanan's son instead of Lorenzo's? The way Monet and Lorenzo Tejada treat Cane compared to the other kids, Dru, Diana and Zeke is definitely telling and the clues are hard to ignore so could Kanan really be Cane's father? I love how Courtney is showing History is just repeating itself. Using tasha in jail and ghost leaving them with nothing as a parallel of ghost in the hood with nothing trying to get out. I just call all the characters baby whoever lol. Tariq=ghost, brayden-tommy, kane= kanan,Diana =tasha, lauren-Angela, effie-Ramona, Riley =Holly, trace weston- Kate (obviously😂😂😂). Dru even got some potential Dre in him. he was giving me shaun vibes until last episode 😂😂😂 zeke is the keisha of the group for now but i can see a baby 2bit once he eventually joins the family business. (he looks like him enough)

I understand why people would think Cane is Kanan's son and it would be pretty cool too, but I think people need to stop acting like everyone in book 2 is related to original Power characters, this is meant to be a brand new show and not everyone of these new characters are going to know any of the people on the original show.
Oh of course Bob Bob, just throwing it out there considering Tommy thinks the same too. No doubt they're making connections to the original Power series though and if not this one there may be other subtle hints to the original series or upcoming ones

I was expecting more from the Monet character because in her character description it said how ruthless and street smart she was but so far I ain't seen any of it really. Tariq has been steps ahead of her this whole time and as for the ruthless side well so far that's all been left to Cane in the family. I still think she has time to prove herself because we're only half way through the season but so far I was expecting more from her. I still think she's a good character though just hasn't been as good as I was expecting her to be.
They probably don’t show flashbacks because they are making a whole show about their past, im sure we are gonna see much of that in Power book 3
Hit the nail on the head with this comment 👌🏼 but, I don't know whether they were planning on creating the prequal Power Book 3. Maybe it was always in the back of their minds which is why they never had any flashbacks. It saves the suspense and storylines for Book 3

I think it would be cool if cane and kanan tied into each other that way but I honestly would rather book 2 earn its own merits without relying too heavily on the original show by attaching all the new characters to the old ones. I hope book 2 is intriguing enough to be its own thing and carry its own weight. Kinda like every season of the wire. With the way it was written each season had its own loose ties to the previous season but still managed to hold their own narratives each contributing to the big picture in their own ways. This is what I want for Power.... an updated yet faster paced spin on the wire.... 50 and Courtney kemp would become legendary if they can pull that off.

Kanan was in Queens for a long time so there wouldn’t be a doubt that he might have had multiple Sons. Cane, I think he is treated differently because he’s the oldest of the three. When it comes to being the oldest the situation is always thrusted on them to make them proud. Cane is treated differently because he’s the oldest but he’s too brash and unpredictable, not because he’s adopted.
Even if Kanan is his father, he still wouldn't be adopted because Monae is his mother no matter what

I say do just enough flashbacks to take us in the right direction, but keep us on the edge of out seats! I only say that so the show doesn't become so predictable!
I would love more flashbacks but Power don't tend to do them unless they're flashbacks of things that we've seen already
