    Yoni always has helpful advice! Any suggestions for a leg or foot that falls asleep...over and over again?

    • @painfixprotocol
      @painfixprotocol  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much! The first thing to do would be to determine the source of the problem. What's causing the foot to "fall asleep" - is it a circulatory issue, a neurological issue, is it positional or activity-related. Lots of questions need to be answered before an appropriate course of treatment can be determined.

    Hi Yoni. Great sounding product. What is the recommended dosage of this product?

    • @painfixprotocol

      Thanks Kalkeys! Four capsules/day provides a full therapeutic dose of all the nutrients in Joint Relief. I like to take 2 in the first part of the day and 2 more before bed on an empty stomach.

    Hi Yoni, I'm wondering if you have come across a pain medication called Conolidine - made from the plant Tabernaemontana divaricate. Apparently it's been used in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine for ages.

    • @painfixprotocol
      @painfixprotocol  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have heard of it. Curiously, I have not been able to find any clinical trials measuring the effects of conolidine. If you know of any, please share.

      Great question, Betsy! The short answer is yes, and here are some specifics:
      - Undenatured Type 2 Collagen has demonstrated the ability to induce tolerance, effectively reducing joint pain and swelling in RA subjects. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12837047/
      - PEA for the treatment of RA - pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34056884/
      - Boswellia Serrata & RA - pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31041173/
      - Honokiol & RA - pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26339358/

    What would you recommend for sciatica? My dad is in so much pain

    • @painfixprotocol
      @painfixprotocol  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Supplements are, as the name implies, a great supplemental strategy and they're very effective. However, the primary strategy for something sciatica should be physical medicine/rehab directed at the source of the nerve compression.

    Thank you for sharing these great supplements, I can attest to type II collagen for knee pain but I'm confused about nitric oxide and Honokiol. My NO is low (91) and have been trying to increase it to get better blood flow to the brain (white matter problems) with citrulline..., am I creating inflammation? What's the ideal NO level?

    • @painfixprotocol
      @painfixprotocol  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's fantastic, Micheline! Undenatured type II collagen is pretty amazing stuff! The short answer is "no". Nitric oxide (NO) is a vasodilator. The researchers in the honokiol study that I shared used it as one marker for an acute inflammatory process (because after an injury, the body wants to bring more blood to the damaged area and NO is part of that process).

  • @billofhealth1661
    @billofhealth1661 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Could you expand a little bit about the collagen? I have been taking Great Lakes bovine collagen peptides ( type I and III). What is special about type II ?

    • @painfixprotocol
      @painfixprotocol  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question, Bill! To be clear, type 1 & 3 collagen peptides are awesome and have a ton of benefits when taken regularly, in therapeutic doses. In fact, I did an entire video just on the benefits of that type of collagen. But, undenatured type II collagen is a different animal altogether. The retention of its' normal structure (being undenatured) enables it to interact with the immune system and trigger a series of anti-inflammatory / healing cascades within the body. To capture all the benefits, I make sure to take both types.

    How about Low Dose Naltrexone? What are your thoughts?

    • @painfixprotocol
      @painfixprotocol  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not an expert on Naltrexone and I would encourage you to direct your questions about it to your doctor / pharmacist. I do know that this drug is classified as an "opiate antagonist". Apparently, it works by preventing the brain from experiencing things like: pain relief & feelings of well-being. I believe it's used primarily to help people overcome addiction to opioids.

    The half life of P.E.A. is only 25 minutes. To get the most from a dose, supplementing with an MAO inhibitor like Oat Straw will lengthen the half life.

    • @painfixprotocol
      @painfixprotocol  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for commenting! Those are good suggestions! There seems to be quite a few things that can influence the half life of this nutrient - including the form of PEA (micronized / ultramicronized). I am a bit curious as to what study it was that showed a 25 minute half life? The only reference I've seen to a half life that short was a 2015 study done on rats.
      This paper discusses a 12 hour half life in human subjects. www.alzdiscovery.org/uploads/cognitive_vitality_media/Palmitoylethanolamide-Cognitive-Vitality-For-Researchers.pdf

      @@painfixprotocol I don't remember but I can speak from experience. I took an extreme dose (15 grams) once because I mistook PEA for a different DIY preworkout ingredient. The effects were extreme, to the point that it had me worried but they didn' t last for much more than 30 minutes. The closest thing I can relate it to, is like when you nebulize prednisone. It affected my breathing and had me on "high alert".

    • @painfixprotocol

    I appreciate this information, but if there are amazing plant pain reduction supplements out there why keep encouraging people to use animal products. We really need to leave animals alone. Live and let live!

    • @painfixprotocol
      @painfixprotocol  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, many great supplements are derived from plants. But, if we can put the ethical and moral arguments (many of which I agree with) aside for a second, the fact is that human beings are omnivores and many of the nutrients we require can only be obtained from animal sources - Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) is one example.
