Fun fact: they put wartortle as the dynamax pokemon featured in the teaser, wartortle is #8 in the pokedex, with gen 8 being teased and this being the 8th aniversary.
Honestly? Since EVERY Pokemon can Dynamax and only a select handful can Gigantamax, there might just be a universal Dynamax Energy Item for every Pokemon, and then specific Gigantamax Energy Items for those handful mentioned above.
Another thing is that it would honestly SUCK if the you could only Gigantamax those Pokemon caught from those raids, mainly because of Shiny reasons, but yea…😔😔
The way i see Niantic implementing G-max moves is an adventure effect. But it would spawn pokemon of the same type to the Gigantimaxed Pokemon for however many minutes you set it to. Effecting PVP would ruin the game, and i feel Niantic wouldnt want to go through the trouble of finding a way to balance it out.
In Sword and Shield the max mushrooms were specifically so you could give older pokemon the ability to G-Max so you didn’t have to just get one from a raid
Seems like they could release the dynamax band in a special research. Then they could make you grind for energy. That would at least make it consistent with the lore.
I think they will do a universal dynamax energy. The amount would vary based on stage and power (caterpie would cost less than donphan who would cost less than dragonite who would cost less than kyogre). This would provide a stat buff to the Pokémon for a set amount of time and the effects of the type move will be applied to the user (meaning for the time a dark type is dynamaxed any Pokémon that the trainer battles will have a lowered special defense regardless of what Pokémon is in the battle). To get this energy, it will likely be like shadow raids where they are mixed into the normal raid pool at various different tiers of difficulty rewarding according amounts of energy and an encounter with the Pokémon. These would be harder than normal raids but offer better rewards and the Pokémon featured would change based on the event. The power of the effects too would be dependent on the CP of the Pokémon dynamaxed. For gigantamax, they would be done similar to mega. A higher difficulty raid that rewards Pokémon specific energy. Only Pokémon caught after defeating the raid will have the initial ability to gigantamax, but I see research tasks being added that reward max mushrooms that allow a Pokémon to gain the ability to gigantamax. What separates them from Megas would be the bonuses. Similar yo dynamax, they would be based on the new move and would be active during the time duration of the gigantamax. They would not provided the extra candies that Megas do tho, giving both of them a place and only one mega/primal/gigantamax/dynamax could be active at once. I think this would be a reasonable way for them to introduce them allowing everyone to access dynamax regardless of level and give both dynamax and gigantamax a use without harming the viability of other special forms.
Fun fact: in the dlc for sword & sheild they change how you can get gigantamax for certain pokemon you can make soup and give to select pokemon to give them there form without catching them in raids
Mega lucario was teased in 2020 and came out halfway into 2024 so we might be waiting a while on this one. I do hope that it comes soon it would be interesting to see how it would work.
I think that due to every pokemon being able to dynamic niantic should make dynamax energy universal and the their of the raid will be a factor in how much energy you get
No, raid pokemon being massive is just an appearance, they do get a lot more hp, however it's like 300x the normal pokemon. Raid pokemon also get a cp boost which is unconfirmed. Also yes galar starters are coming out, presumably in December
Assuming Niantic implements these effects, it wouldn't surprise me if Niantic makes this such that: (1) this only activates if you are raiding in-person (i.e. not remote raiding); and (2) the effect only applies to allies that are also raiding in-person.
Know Dynamax and G-max aren’t the most beloved “gimmick” mechanic but I honestly can’t wait for this. Sword and Shield were such a blast because of the raids for them
For everyone wondering, all these dynamax moves and effects have been added in the game recently. Dataminers have found info. Venusaur is going to be the first one to get gigantamax. Now the question is when will they enable all these for use, I think in a year or next month (next month will most likely be the time Niantic releases Gen 8)
If you go to your pokemon storage, press the search tab, then tap the "see more" option, then scroll down to the special category, down at that category you can see the Dynamax logo twice, with one being lighter than the other, called "?" and "???"
They need to add an extra PVP format! More like the oldschool games. Maybe a 5 VS 5 battle where you can use your Dyna- Gigantamax energie. And in the future Z-Moves. Would be insane!
I was thinking about this a few days ago. I feel that the best way to use this feature would be to limit Dynamax to only battles (Gym and PvPs, since in-game, it is an in battle mechanic). Not only will this balance things, but you don't need any energy for this. As for Gigantamax Pokemon, they can be in raids, where once you defeat the raid, you get the Pokemon with the Gigantamax Factor. You can't use a Pokemon with the factor to mega evolve (specifically Gengar and Charizard).
Honestly I think this will be great, to get big CP boosted on our favorite Pokémon. For example one of my favorite Pokémon is Haunter, but it’s max CP is only like 3000. But with Gigantimaxing the Pokémon I could maybe have a 4000 CP haunter I could use in raids or something
Keep in mind, Mimikyu was in artwork 3 years ago and still isn't released yet so keep expectations low... but then again, data miners believed they found something that could point to Dynamaxing so there's that.
I think gigantamax is going to tied to a specific move like mega Rayquaza where you need an item for the move with energy but you can only use the move when gigantamaxed so it balances the amount of pokemon that can gigantamax
I think, in the interest of not having it work exactly like the mega evolution system, the energy you get can just go into a pool that can be used to gigantamax any pokemon. It also makes things a lot more interesting to just suddenly give everyone an easy power buff. Gotta toss the casual players a bone every now and then.
I hope we see a slightly different system for Gigantamax raids to what you described. I assume you're right about the energy we'll need to G-Max each time, but I would hope that we might get the mushrooms from raids to feed to any pokemon of that species, as opposed to only G-Maxing ones caught in raids. Maybe we'll have to get 10 Charizard mushroom pieces to form a Charizard Mushroom, and then you could feed it to your old perfect, maxed out Charizard. I'd actually be pretty sad if we can only G-max the specific pokemon caught from a G-max raid. Don't give Niantic any ideas! 😶
4:55 in the main series game, they fixed this by letting you spend 3 max mushrooms to allow an older pokemon to gigantamax. if you catch a naturally occuring gigantamax pokemon, you do not have to pay max mushrooms to use it.
Me: Aurora Borealis? At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within your kitchen?! Dynamax Lapras: Yes. Me: May I see it? Niantic: Mmm… No.
Max raids will be super fun… you’ll need 16 people to beat it but you can’t invite people I bet. And even if you could you wouldn’t get that many people to join. Gonna be exciting
I would suspect they'll have Dmax raid dens and they have a chance to be Gmax when catching them (like shinies ) That way people are going to raid an Eevee, Meowth, Butterfree or Pikachu Dmax raid dens. They could also spin off Dmax raid days with a boosted chance to get gmax pokemon from raids... It's a big money spinner. In SWSH also you got wishing pieces which forced a raid den to spawn. Stick one in the shop for 100 coins and give us 1 for free and that's literally printing a replacement for raid passes for more $ Kinda hope it's not the same as Megas though. When you've done enough mega raids it's hard to get excited for Those raids. But curveball it with "a chance to be Gmax" and you just have a new level of shiny hunting on your hands...
Gonna throw my 2 pokecoins worth in too! Dynamax feature and Level 60 will be released together. Maybe we wont power our pokemon up to L60, but dynamax them once they are L50 which could make them eligible to Dynamax. Requiring people to actual power up pokemon to L50 so that it encourages them to push for Dynamax. Im thinking we'll see dynamax and L60 at the start of 2025 or the 3rd quarter of 2025.
How I think dynamax and gmax might work: For regular dynamax, since all pokemon can do regular dynamax, there may be a general dynamax energy for all pokemon that all pokemon can use to dynamax. For gigantamax, it may work similar to how Megas work with there being a specific energy tied to a certain pokemon that is compatible with gigantamax (ex Charizard gets Charizard Gmax energy and Snorlax gets Snorlax gmax energy and so on.)
Hello, if people find this decent then yay. If not then ok. This battle mechanic will probably take a long time for them to fine tune it before they even do it. Here's a few examples: 1. The 32 mons required to gigantamax need to have a specific move originally. For competitive people we want the best move set. Not every mon will have the best moveset 2. For the outside of battle effects, they would have to change all of them. For Snorlax I can see that one being a glitch to have a "chance" of returning the pokeball back and make it so it always does it, so unlimited masterballs 3. There is no special attack and defense so 4 moves are automatically out. Speed could be used to increase how fast the charge move is and making them slower( no other way). But the ones causing area affect like sandstorm and rain will break the game if everyone is spamming weather changing ones so it. 4. Pvp will not have dyna and gigantamaxing. It doesn't have mega evolution except for special cups, so how would they be able to bring them in if they can't even have mega evolution in 5. Not all the mons that can gigantamax are released, I think about 24 of them have, but it will be another rockruff scenario bc of people who kept a shiny Charizard or other Mon to gigantamax and learn they can't. 6. They haven't even done gen 8 yet to my knowledge or the starters, so they get a ways to go before this
I have a theory that gigantamax might be a new branch of 4 star raids, not just exclusive to the megas anymore, and maybe they even get their own eggs. Like how ultra beasts are 5 star raids and they have a wormhole instead of a normal egg
Something big is coming… the latest news update on PoGo, and the little teaser with a red storm coming… I think we will officially see Dynamax soon, and hopefully the starter Galar Pokémon.
This could be an interesting way to release Gen 8 Pokemon like Kubfu/Urshifu since Urshifu has 2 G max forms. Also, there are barriers in the max raids which I’m not sure how they could work in a PoGo raid system
I wanna correct something said. You said," only specific pokemon can Gigantimax and only from max raid dens and only when fed a soup made with gigantimax mushrooms." But those are both ways of getting the gigantimax ability. You can feed any pokemon that has a gigantimax form gigantimax soup and that will make it so when you dynamax them they gigantimax. I might've misunderstood what you said, but I wanted to clear that up.
Having to get a new pokemon just for it to access the feature would piss me off. Existing Pokémon that we had before the mega system came, could still be Mega evolved, so hope that remains consistent.
A cool thing I noticed about the teaser is the yellow gym in the background seems HUGE as the bottom of the gym is covered by a mountain. However this may just be a mistake in the art.
In the sword and shield games, for pokemon that has gigantimax form but doesnt have it unlocked, there is a way you can turn that pokemon into a gigantimax pokemon, they can implement this into the game as a limited time research like the master ball, or a quest line given to everyone by Willow where you can get maybe one or two of those items.
You’re overthinking this! 😂 its Niantic they will make it the same as raides. Where we spend a shit ton of money to just get some special candy to dynamax our pokemon. No special effects just a simple raid system and quick cash grab
You keep talking about raiding, but according to the latest code leaks(some of which came before the new TOS) these Pokémon will be available through pokestop encounters
Hey mystic I’m going to the Santa Monica peir one sat at 1 for rayquaza an I would love to meet you and do some trades I’ve been a subscriber since like 2020 and I watch all your videos on my tv By the way my name is jax
I think only Gmax should be implemented, at least with Megas all the stats got a boost, and it was a form change, Dmax doesn’t do anything besides the moves, which really only affect raids. Gmax is a different form, like megas
relative to most players i am new to the game, and i have a gengar that i am somewhat attached to (3 star appraisal, high cp) so i am hyped to potentially gigantamax
My guess is that it will be an over world move and you get to choose what move you want to use and it will change the weather I’ve more candy to a certain type more stardust exp etc. And you can add another move for more choices when they gmax/dmax
I'm just going to say it's interesting and leave it at that and to anyone curious about what will happen with Zacian and Zamazenta more than likely if/when Dynamax and Gigantimax are introduced into pokemon go that's when the crowned sword and crowned shield forms of Zacian and Zamazenta will be released along with possibly Eternatus and it's Eterntamax form
Fun fact: they put wartortle as the dynamax pokemon featured in the teaser, wartortle is #8 in the pokedex, with gen 8 being teased and this being the 8th aniversary.
The artist said he picked Wartortle because it was his favorite Pokémon, stop the cap.

Having to get a new pokemon just for it to access the feature would piss me off. Existing Pokémon that we had before the mega system came, could still be Mega evolved, so hope that remains consistent.
Put dynamax energy on routes, more incentive to do them after you evolve Zygarde
Dynamax elite raids. Gigantamax can be remoted. I hope this isn’t the case however if this plays out, I called it first.
I'd be very surprised to see this being allowed in pvp considering they don't let megas in pvp
A cool thing I noticed about the teaser is the yellow gym in the background seems HUGE as the bottom of the gym is covered by a mountain. However this may just be a mistake in the art.
They might use an item for Gigantamax similar to the Meteorite needed for Mega Rayquaza.
Maxes on a timer changing the weather for your app would be awesome

How rare is a 0iv shiny squirtle?? Should I evolve to blastoise? Or leave be??
Very rare the ivs will stay the same if you evolve it so if you prefer shiny blastoise I'd say evolve it
@@goujon3071 looks sick thanks 🤩
In the sword and shield games, for pokemon that has gigantimax form but doesnt have it unlocked, there is a way you can turn that pokemon into a gigantimax pokemon, they can implement this into the game as a limited time research like the master ball, or a quest line given to everyone by Willow where you can get maybe one or two of those items.
6:46 Physic terrain? You know what, Imma let that one slide lolll😂
They better let us gigantimax existing Pokemon. Definitely want to use my perfect cowboy hat snorlax 🤙🏼
If it’s anything like the last couple anniversary artwork teasers, we can expect dynamax in 2027 😅
hopefully the f2p players can get these a bit easy too if it came out
Fr. I’m not a f2p but my cousin is and bro he misses out on so much
You’re overthinking this! 😂 its Niantic they will make it the same as raides. Where we spend a shit ton of money to just get some special candy to dynamax our pokemon. No special effects just a simple raid system and quick cash grab
I wonder what they will do for eternamax eternatus
finally my man snorlax has a "mega" of sorts in pogo
You keep talking about raiding, but according to the latest code leaks(some of which came before the new TOS) these Pokémon will be available through pokestop encounters
I think Gigantamax application is going to function similarly how you get Mega Rayquaza.
Hey mystic I’m going to the Santa Monica peir one sat at 1 for rayquaza an I would love to meet you and do some trades I’ve been a subscriber since like 2020 and I watch all your videos on my tv
By the way my name is jax
I think only Gmax should be implemented, at least with Megas all the stats got a boost, and it was a form change, Dmax doesn’t do anything besides the moves, which really only affect raids. Gmax is a different form, like megas
Mystic saw the algorithm flavor and went for it 😋
basically: if dynamax pokemon are added, they will be broken, like, REALLY broken. but they could also just not be added for like years.
Yeah! My Boi 100% Melmetal is ready
Mega mewtwo is in the game?
relative to most players i am new to the game, and i have a gengar that i am somewhat attached to (3 star appraisal, high cp) so i am hyped to potentially gigantamax
My guess is that it will be an over world move and you get to choose what move you want to use and it will change the weather I’ve more candy to a certain type more stardust exp etc. And you can add another move for more choices when they gmax/dmax
In all likelyhood, wont be used in GBL period. Limited use in raids. My guess, in person only.
DO they require buying special raid passes too?
I really don’t wanna have to catch a bunch of hundo’s of Pokémon that I already have. “Oh you have a hundo Charizard? Too bad he can’t Gigantamax”
Seems like gigantimax is the way to go so that way they can have an actual rotation and not just every single pokemon ever
