Not coke or sprite. That is a reaction of hydrogen peroxide and probably potassium iodide commonly known as elephant toothpaste. The mentos and what little coke and sprite added to the reaction may have had some effect of making it foam a bit more, but I doubt it. I've played with carbonated beverages and mentos quite a bit. All the mentos does is have a large surface area for the CO2 to nucleate on, rapidly pulling the CO2 from the beverage and causing a fountain of fizz. Label your video correctly please, trying to pass this as a simple coke and mentos "experiment" is insulting.

Ok, so what else do you have in there? 1st the big bottles of "coke" we gray in color so definitely not actual coke, sprite is not green and 90% of that was NOT mentos. So what chemicals did you throw in there for that reaction?

У нас в России не было колы с кофе. Мне очень понравилось во Вьетнаме новый вкус кола-кофе. Я решила в магазине взять обычную колу и смешать с пакетиком растворимого черного кофе. Получился такой же эффект 😁 как с ментос , только посреди магазина. ( Я очень хотела пить 😁)
I call a big amount of bull on this. What happens at the end is elephant toothpaste, which you can make with hydrogen peroxide, yeast, and dish soap. The mentos + coke reaction is purely from the carbonation in the soda attaching itself to the rougher surface of the mentos, instead of the plastic bottle. This, also caused by the instant disruption of placement, makes the reaction. Opening the sodas early, before even needing them to be opened, would risk them to become flat - lose all carbonation, and therefore no reaction from the mentos.
I knew it was fake after a few seconds. They dont sell coke or sprite in gallon jugs and sprite is clear not green. Dead give away its faked if adding other chemicals.

I don’t mean to criticize, but this video was accomplished with clever VFX. It is still a cool video and the editing is excellent but it is nevertheless just that. There are certainly parts that are real, but the final chemical reaction is not from the Coke and Mentos. It’s called elephant toothpaste and results from different chemicals. The two reactions were filmed separately and combined using VFX. I was suspicious when I first watched it but after rewatching it at 0.25x speed a bunch of times, I noticed multiple mistakes that confirmed it.
Start watching slowly at 7:00. Notice how you can see the guy through the tank.
At 7:02, it cuts to a new shot and you can no longer see the guy’s legs through the tank but instead you can see the sand behind. This shot combines two different takes. Everything contained within view of the front panel of the tank is the original reaction with the Coke, Mentos, and Sprite (is it really Sprite though?). Everything outside the border of that front panel is the elephant toothpaste reaction. You can even see something red on the back of his hand that wasn’t there before and he is holding something that likely contained one of the elephant toothpaste reactants.
At 7:03 as he starts moving away from the tank, the color starts to fade to red (very unnatural). As the guy completely moves from behind the tank, the camera begins to zoom out and the original reaction footage had to be tracked onto a changing shot. If you look closely, the tank contents seem to wobble a little as it doesn’t match perfectly with the zooming camera.
Then it wipes up from the bottom of the tank to the top, transitioning to the elephant toothpaste reaction. You can even see the Mentos disappear as it wipes up.
From there on, the rest of the video is simply the elephant toothpaste video.
Bottom line, the video is very clever but the editing and title lead the viewer to think it is something that it’s not.

Под ментосом обычные пластиковые шарики - декоративный наполнитель!
Попробуйте положить один ментос в стакан с колой!
Под ментосом шарики похожие на желатин или мармелад. Возможно, поэтому и пена очень прочная.

There's definitely at least 2 other ingredients added, something that made it foam and something to make the foam red. And idk where y'all are from, but we don't have green sprite here in Louisiana.

You can clearly see the edit where it switched between the stew of "Coke", "Sprite", Mentos, and Jelly Beans (Maybe? I don't know, but they weren't Mentos) and the elephant toothpaste mixture. Also it was red. And smoking. And the foam was able to float on air.
I think what ever was in the 1 gal jugs was not coke and sprite. Since it was the wrong color and the fact coke does not sell coke in 1 gal water jugs.

А почему спрайт из 5 литровых бутылей отличается от спрайта в литровых? Что-то сомнения какие-то возникают.
Я тоже заметила, спрайт в большой бутылке не прозрачный. Намешали поди что нибудь, для пущего эффекта.
Наверно потому что такая пена и такая реакция невозможна от колы, ментоса и спрайта без добавления туда других реактивов.)))) Ментос ща счёт очень шершавой поверхности выстро концентрирует на себе углекислый газ любой газировки. С таким же успехом можно и минералку использовать. Поэтому много пены. Но она не такая густая и не так много. А тут по ходу получается дымовая змейка.))))
Ментос вообще не тот что с начала
в 5-ти литровках не спрайт и не кола , а какой то реактив по цвету видно, да и наклейки на пятилитровках от литровых бутылок)
вообще есть вариант, что можно было бы обойтись только 5-ти литровками и шариками из большой бутыли, а лимонад и ментос просто для хайпа)

People thinking that the reaction is real 🤦♂️. Coke, sprite, and mentos would not create a foam like seen here. They would also take longer to react. The reaction seen here is actually an edited in reaction of elephants toothpaste. Pretty cool video, I just wish we could see the legitimate reaction. Also, the giant jar of “mentos” was actually full of white orbeez, not mentos.
Agreed. The large jugs of "Coke" and "Sprite" aren't what he's claiming they are, either. I think only the normally packaged products are the real deal. I had thought initially that maybe the fake ingredients were what was actually causing the reaction, but looking again, it's obviously been edited to make it look like the end reaction (which looks like it's real, just filmed at a different time) was the result of the "Coke/Mentos/Sprite" combination.
The actual Coke/Sprite/Mentos reaction would've been much less explosive. The structure of tank doesn't allow for the build up of pressure that happens when a container has a small, narrow opening, so it would've just foamed up and spilled over the sides of the tank rather than shoot up into the air.

That doesn't look like a reaction between mentos and a soft drink. It looks like reaction between hydrogen peroxide and some yeast/ potassium, this would explain the steam produced since this reaction produces heat and water vapour
Also the mask at 7:03 on the fishtank is poorly executed. Pause or play in 0.25 speed to see what I'm talking about. You can clearly see it goes from coke+mentos to what you described.
