I played Araluen just after it opened. Played OK, 1 Eagle, some birds, but a few more bogies through inexperience, not knowing the course, and not being good enough. A couple over, but loved it. I sometimes don't use a tee on par 3's. It cost me a massive gouge in the bottom of my 8 iron on 16, and a badly damaged wrist, but at least I removed the rock lurking underneath the tee box.

Ron, great effort with no course knowledge . It takes you 12 months to be able to read the greens at Araluen! Go back in Autumn when the trees are changing colour, absolutely magnificent. Does have the best five finishing holes in a row you'll find. Oh, and next time try the blue tees.....the minor difference in rating becomes more like 6 shots.

Do you have a list of specific professionals that you want to have a crack at, or do you just cold-call the pro shop? And if you do have a list, who's name is at the top - Rumford or Ogle?
Araluen is in the hills just outside of Perth. It’s stinking hot in the summer but because of the shape of the grounds there after rain you get boggy turf in the valleys.
Ive got someone you can vs at royal perth he says he will wrap you up and an a friend of yours Corley mclernon my good mate he is not a pro but works in a pro shop not sure if it counts

Irish bloke here who lived in WA for 19 years. I can testify to how nice a track Araluen is and that Par 3 16 is epic, serious hang time
