Congratulations! So proud of you! Wonderful to watch the development of this hobby/content turned into a career path. As a fellow adult dancer, I'm thankful for you and the support you've provided through this channel!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! you don't know me from Adam, but since I started my ballet journey (at 47) you've been there "for me" , so I'm so super happy to hear about your awesome new path! All the best!!!
So happy for you!! No ballet company could want for a better ambassador! Congratulations and well done 🎉❤ We miss you too but there's always the rest of your channel 😊
Very glad to see you so happy and fulfilled in your career, richly deserved! Thank you for all you do for your followers, you have many ‘virtual friends’ here xx😊
Very good news!!! Have fun!!! Sorry to disappoint you, but your body will become more and more fragile with time and work... I am 51 and an aficionado like you, tought a lot of ballet too, and I can feel I will never have the level I had before, but I still dance on pointe, just don't try triple pirouettes any more after a big fall at home... Good luck! Excited for the Nutcracker workout...
Oh yes, I'm already feeling the deterioration of some things! I've been doing adult ballet for 17 years, so it's been a strange experience of improvement but aging. There are physical limitations growing in areas, but a mental maturity gain with what to do about those limitations. That's how I'm learning to cope with it, at least lol! So sorry to hear about your big fall at home - that is scary and I understand not wanting to trying for that anymore! Way to keep up with the pointe work! 👏
What a wonderful job! I’m a photographer as well and have always dreamed of being a dance photographer or working for a company as a graphic designer or in marketing/ social media!
I wanted to ask you something. So, I officially started ballet about 3 months ago in a studio, and I do lessons 2 hours a week. In the first lessons I didn't notice any type of pain. But, because I'm 15 and I really want to do something about ballet in the future.. and of course get on pointe.. I always think that I need to improve fast and build strength, I decided to do ballet at home too with the help of TH-cam videos. So, after a week I noticed pain in my left knee. I think I overworked it. I'm literally not doing anything extreme on my own, instead of not warming up before the barre because in ballet studio we don't warm up too and start with plies instantly.. I always warmup at least 10 minute before streching at home. I went to the doctor and he just said that for 10 days I must not do any type of exercise. I didn't, I returned and after I decided that my knee pain is over and I can keep up with my home program.. I just did a ballet workout yesterday and knee pain started again. Not that much as the other time, but I feel that it started again. At home I am doing things on my level. Not too much. I follow an Absolute Beginner Ballet Series, streching routine and I try to practice in everything center movement we do at ballet studio.. for example changement, pique turns, pirouettes on deurs & dedans, glissade etc. I think that if I stop working by my own my knee pain will be over. But I really want to be the best version of me in ballet, and 2 hours of training in a week is nothing.. I will never succeed in anything with 2hrs a week. Maybe 15 min warm up isn't enough? I can do 30 min warm up if that's okay. And I don't feel like I'm doing anything wrong..
Hi ya, I'm not Jana and I'm not a doctor, but I can identify with where you're coming from. I suggest you talk to your teacher and /or the studio director/owner. They will have more specific advice and might even recommend a doctor or PT who knows about dance (most doctors don't). They may also have ideas for how you can get more training through private lessons or even another studio nearby. Some of the girls at my studio pay for extra lessons by helping around the studio (cleaning, answering phones, etc.). Just throwing out ideas to help you make your dream come true! All the best.
Hi Jana, wow just this minute seen your video. I'm sooooo delighted for you, wow this is so you this job, oh this is so wonderful. I'm so happy for you. I'll have to leave you a message over on fb messages. So good to see a video from you, miss your videos. So happy for you, congratulations this is so you, I think all your work, keen aesthetic eye has led to this, never mind your ballet background and life. They are very lucky to have you. I hope to get to visit Oklahoma City Ballet one day, add it to a holiday in The States hopefully. Super Well Done 🩰💗
Hey Jana, congratulations! That sounds like a really cool job, I'm happy for you! I've also been struggling to go to ballet class at least once a week - once life gets stressful and busy, it's one of the first things to go. And conditioning between classes is definitely something I need to do too! I missed you too, it was lovely to see you ❤
Thank you, Sarah! It’s such a bummer ballet class gets the bench first :( If you have any good conditioning recs, let me know! It’s hard to make time for that too and it all becomes a vicious cycle lol!
I’m so curious about what it looks like when professional dancers learn a new ballet from scratch. ROH puts out a lot of videos showing dancer rehearsals, but they seem pretty well versed in the steps at that point. What does the very beginning look like?? 👀
For sure! Love those ROH videos! The very beginning looks a little bit like learning a combo in class, but the combo keeps going haha. Great question and I’d love to show some insight on that!
I haven't gotten to take company class yet, but plan to when my small injuries subside enough to handle that. No plans to stop dancing - breaks are okay to take care of ourselves in other ways!
I haven’t had any notifications of your posts ,just thought there …..oh Ballerinas By Night ……I must be unsubscribed ….did a search ….found you ….guess what ,not unsubscribed …so why no notifications?
