I’ve been urging them to do an fcx18 hilux “because I need to change miniature regimes” as I put it. Now ofc I think I want the FJ more. That thing is a delight. Well done
I think Hilux will be the next one re-released on the FCX18 platform. There's not much that needs to be modified to adapt it to the FCX18 K10 chassis. But for FJ Cruiser... I'm not sure. With the fender flares of the FJ being on the floorpan means new molds.
Thanks for taking time to reply!
Really great job done!
thanks dude!
Awesome video!
Thanks dude!
Subscribed. Love to mod a fcx fj but no spare time...
Haha, yeah tell me about it. This is a 20 min video but the build actually took me two months. I only had a little bit of time every day to work on it.

Thanks for the detailed video, thought 2 speed trans might not do well with straight axles due to no extra portal gears reduction, i ordered trx4m transmisson with 380 motor instead to experiment mix n match, will see when it gets here, only reason for changing stock trans for me is awsome low speed control but terribly slow trail speed and metal gears cost with shipping is 3x the price of trx4m trans with motor + metal gears, if the experiment fails, will try to opt for similar setup as yours
380 motor?? That's huge! Sounds like a fun project! I'm curious where you are finding metal gears for the stock tranny of these trucks. I can't find any metal ones, only the original plastic ones. I just stripped a set of gears last week, I am down to my last set of spares. I still have two trucks with that transmission.
@@Angerhaus some random store on aliexpress had a few pieces of stock metals but very expensive 3x the cost of fcx trans with metal gears under name of of "chittu" or something "kuluze" baby toy, probably an auto translated name
@@schumiz I also sow them approx month ago. The price was close to 20 EUR with shipping. Really expensive. Now - not available anymore
Nice! Well put together vid :thumbs up:
Thank you sir!
Thank you!!!! Masterpiece builder!!!🥇🤜🤛😎
One question: the wheels you got on is 62mm 64mm or 68mm???
Thanks, dude! Glad you like it! 😁
@@ONFLOOD-RC you mean tires? Those are Hobbysoul tires with 61mm diameter.
@@Angerhaus Thank’s 👍👍👍
I’d love to see what you’d do with the FCX24
Frankly I haven't seen a FCX24 body I like yet. My favourite is the Unimog, but even that I'm only lukewarm about it.
Awesome video! Would like to ask, what size of screwdriver do you use to remove the body of the fj cruiser 1/18? Its a bummer i wanted to take it of but it seems my screwdrivers dont fit :-(
Thanks! The body is secured by Philips screws actually. I just use size #1.
Have you tried hex 1.5mm?
Thanks for the reply sir, was able to secure a size 1 already and so far that works, just havent got the time to do it though.
Why did you find it beneficial to change the drive shaft yokes to the FCX24 stock ones?
That's because the holes where the yokes attach to on the FCX transmission and axle gears are a different shape than the original FJ Cruiser. And also the FCX driveshafts aren't long enough for the FJ Cruiser. You'd need to mix-and-match the driveshafts so they are both long enough for the FJ Cruiser and fit the FCX18 drivetrain.
@@Angerhaus ahh yes! Thank makes total sense! Thank you for the quick reply. I am debating the option you provided versus using the stock Fj and swapping out transmission, axles and drive shaft to ones that fit the trx4m. I already have trx4m spare parts and this project would only require me to purchase just the fms fj. Otherwise I believe if I go with your method I would need to buy the portals and extra drive shafts.
@@mscaesco cool! That sounds like a pretty interesting conversion too!
@@Angerhaus I saw someone else post a vid with the trx4m configuration and that’s where I got the idea- However I really like the fact that you are using portals that would be more ideal.
@@Angerhaus I don’t own any of the FMS products however if I wanted to complete a build like yours I would need to buy the FJ cruiser and then buy the portals for the fcx18 as well as the drive shafts for the Fcx24 is that correct? Would I be able to use the Fj stock motor motor instead of the 2 speed with this configuration?
Are you running the stock ESC?
@@Sk8Worthy yeah, the one from FCX18. R4A3
Can you swap bodies of the LC80 for the FJ?
I don’t know for sure because I don’t have the old LC80, but I think it should be possible because it uses the same chassis. Not possible with the newer FCX18 LC80. However, you can’t simply just buy the FJ body. FMS only sells the upper body, not the lower body with the fenders and floor pan.
@@Angerhaus after seeing your build and all the work that you did i really wish FMS made a newer FJ. I have the old and new LC80. If I find a FJ shell I’m definitely trying this build. It just looks so good with the blue and red. It has a very subtle pop but still very eye catching. Making me want a FJ man. Really nice truck 👌
Have you managed making one with a brushless platform yet?
@@AKseries1 I put my brushless FJC build on the back burner to work on SCX24's and TRX4m's 😅... I pretty much finished the chassis, but I lost interest when it came to the body because I have no idea how to make it different than the two FJC's I've already built. I'll revive it when I have the inspiration I need. It has a unique transmission paired to a 1806 size brushless motor. It deserves to be finished!
@@Angerhaus I’ll be looking forward to that video if you ever decide to post it. You got a very sneaky channel man 😏
You ever consider selling any of your builds?
@@AKseries1 Yeah, I sold a couple to friends around me so I can get them to crawl with me. 😂 Gonna have to start doing that again cuz I'm running out of shelf space.
Link for yhrc parts
Hang on, I gotta dig up the links. I will come back and message you once I have them added to the description.
hey dude, I finally got around to adding the links. let me know if you have any further questions.
@Angerhaus thanks man appreciated 🙏
I’m not having luck finding these parts in the US .
Me neither. The easiest marketplace to buy YHRC parts is on Taobao. They have an official store there. Not even on AliExpress. A few AliExpress sellers carry some YHRC parts, but sadly not the complete catalogue. Not sure why, they make a lot of good parts for FMS not offered by anyone else.
I'd swap transmission from fcx24 2 speed.
