Visited a few times when we were stationed in Naples with the USAF. But passing big busses on those roads was exciting.

Hey! No problems at all flying around the area. Just don't fly over buildings or people.
Did you have to obtain a regional license of any kind? Are you able to monitor the video through the entire flight? This is such a relatively new innovation that I'd figure the National Tourist Agencies would trying to jump all over the technology. I could foresee a fantastic new line of postcards, for example. Especially those shots along the Amalfi coast and Capri. One of my required purchases on each of my visits are those Rome calendar postcards with 12 shots of the city.. both Vatican and Rome sides of the River, mixed with the 12 months of the year. These could be marketed for everywhere in the country. Your overhead shots open a totally new perspective.

Cool footage! Are you allowed to fly in positano? Did you get any complaints ? I’m thinking of going and wanted to know the rules
You are allowed to fly as long as the drone is more than 150 meters from buildings and not directly above buildings or people. Also you can't fly above the beach between April and September.
This was shot on your phantom 3 right? I've been dying to go out there with my mavic air. So gorgeous
Yes it was! I have since switched to the Gopro drone and love it. Will probably get the Mavic Air eventually because Gopro discontinued theirs. Drone wise DJI is by far the better option, but I love the camera on the Gopro. If you watch my Naples video, most of that drone footage is from the Gopro.
You should wait for the Mavic Pro II. The Air is a great drone, but lack of occusync and short battery life should be improved in the next release, with a 1 inch sensor and variable aperture. I don't regret buying it out of sheer impatience but if you already have a working drone you should wait.

Love it Jake! - I am making a little video for a trip i am taking in June, and wont have a drone till i reach Tuscany (my friend is bringing it with him from Paris), which is a couple of days after i'm in Positano - Would you allow me to use a few seconds of your video? of course id credit it you. I am making a cinematic/dramatic travel video, and the landscape there is just crying out for drone footage! :-) let me know either way :-) thanks!
