갑자기 감정이입해보니 가슴이 찢어진다. 저 고려왕과 사랑해 아이까지 낳았던 사람이였는데... 정말 사랑했는데 서로의 문제때문이아니라 다른남자와 결혼하고있고 ㅠㅜ 당장가서 잡고싶지만 나는 당장 이 길을 걸어야 하고.. ㅠㅜㅠㅠ 뛰쳐나가고싶겠다. 물론 하지원도 행복해서 결혼하는거지만..(쩝)
첫화에서 이 장면을 보고 느낀 점은 결혼식이 엄청 성대하고 화려하고 브금이 정말 예쁘다는 생각이 들지만 마지막화에 이 장면을 보면 정말 가슴이 찢어지게 아픔.. 저 자리에 오르기까지 승냥이가 겪었던 고난과 아픔들이 생각나고 브금이 정말 슬프게 들림ㅠ 51화짜리라 정주행하기 좀 힘들 수 있지만 꼭 해보는 거 추천함 진짜 이렇게 슬플 수가 없음..

처음 1화에서 황후 책봉식 중 왕유랑 서로 마주보고 슬프게 우는 이 장면까지만 하더라도...후궁견환전 견환처럼 사랑하는 사람은 따로있지만 살아남기위해 황후에 오르는 그런 쫄깃한 궁중암투물인줄 알았는데... 뜬금없이 후반부에 승냥이가 타환 사랑하게되고 타환이 왕유 죽이면서 1화 첫장면에서 보여줬던 플롯이 다 어긋나버림ㅠㅠ
This drama is my all time favorite historical drama. Even though it made me cry a lot, I still love it. I watch it every single year, it never gets old.

I join you, guys. I watch it every year since 2014. This is the best historical drama or sageuk for me. The cast is well-chosen. The true breaking-out drama for Ji Chang Wook and he truly deserves it.
i think this is one of the most beautiful opening scenes i've ever seen in a k-drama (or a series in general..) i remember watching it for the first time and being so mesmerized by it!! the gorgeous scenery of the palace, their wedding, their costumes...and the angst!
After finishing the series when I look back at the first episode, I realize how much she had already suffered to reach this stage. To be honest I never really cared or thought of whom did nyang love more, the fact that whomever she loved from the bottom of the heart, she lost them makes it a heartbreaking yet beautiful journey. And I believe both wang yoo and ta hwan love and deserve her equally , its just that the fate favoured nyang and ta hwan to be together while Wang yoo to be sacrificed in the name of love. wonderful drama and memorable performance by ha ji won as a strong empress.
This drama has made me cry as I never did before!! I really enjoyed it from the first ep to the last one! The actors was very good indeed,they did a great job! This drama moved me ...:((
It is fairly the best Korean drama I ever watched, congratulations! the story, the characters, the production, the scenery and the clothes are so detailed that makes me gasp. Everything is so well done! I truly like Ha Ji Won and Ji Chang Wook, what wonderful performance.

I am just in love with Ji Chang Wook he is so handsome. He hasn’t changed much from this drama til now, he still looks handsome as of today. I have seen basically all of his dramas and the roles he plays are always cheerful and funny, but I specially love this role of his because it’s very different from all the other ones, in the beginning of this drama Ji Chang Wook had to play a role that made him feel like a selfish and stupidity person who knew nothing at all and was fearful of his surroundings. But damn!! he had a character growth and later he very much became an emperor that everybody wanted him to be and don’t even get me started on his love for Yang.

SPOI ALERT everyone thought first, she was in love wang yoo in the scene but she was in love togon(ta hwan) 0:20 - she looks her parent's wedding rings and smiles, she is peaceful and happy 1:22 - i think there's no special thing but i love her glance to ta hwan :) 1:38 - same 2:20 - same (her smilee *.*) and 2:38 - she apologizes to wang yoo without words. they dreamed their future together, wang yoo wanted to make her his queen and she accepted but fate and nyang's choice, they couldn't be together. they had a son but they couldn't raise him and they saw their son's death, also the boy never knew his true parents. nyang has a son from ta hwan and she is married with him now instead of wang yoo. ta hwan has what wang yoo's wishes: marrying with nyang, make her queen/empress, has a son from nyang and most important thing: nyang's love. she loved wang yoo but she loves ta hwan now. so she feels sorry for him, her ex lover/fiance and friend.
yeah wang yoo was her first love but i'm talking about episode 50, i mean many years passed and she felt sorry for wang yoo and their fate. she was in love ta hwan from ep32 i think, more precisely she devoted herself ta hwan from ep32(and ep34 truly) but she always cared about him. and she always cared about wang yoo too. when she was in love wang yoo, she cared ta hwan; when she was in love ta hwan, she cared wang yoo. i think she tried to be fair LOL first love is important but i believe the second is more important. nyang's situation is like that: first love never dies but true love can bury it alive
Late reply because the coronation/wedding scene of niyang and emperor were shot first before any scenes to entice viewers to view they made it like she's still in love with wangyu...but she was way over wangyu from the time she gave herself up to the emperor...and she never said I love you to wangyu not once in the entire story..she is devoted to him as a subject and infatuated with him...pitied him coz she knew he never got over her...its more of pity and indebtedness for all the sacrifices he had gone thru...that's my pov
승냥이가 황후가 되기 까지..짧다면 짧고 길다면 긴데…이렇게 변화 하는 과정을 너무 잘 나타내고 승냥이 성장 과정을이 이드라마에서 20년 본거 같은 느낌인 배우 또한 초반과 중반 후반 원레의 승냥이의 이미지를 유지 하면서 조금씩 조금씩 변화 하는 모습을 잘 연기 하신거 같음

I finished the drama a couple days ago and now rewatching this first scene pains my heart so much. This entire story, from the very beginning until the very last moment, is absolutely tragic. A rollercoaster of emotions and plot twists that gets your heading spinning. I can still not process the ending yet. I still can not stop listening to the OST and think deeply about how everything could've changed if one SIMPLE decision was made differently. OMG. THIS DRAMA IS DRIVING ME NUTS. I CAN NOT.

He truly loved nyang but never got same love in return as nyang's heart was filled by wang yo. When emperor knew maha was wang yo son, the pain he felt really made me heartbroken. Everybody just ended up using him even his loved ones!!!!

다시봐도 이 황후대례식은 정말 기황후 최고의 명장면이다. 대사는 그렇게 많이나오진않았지만 배우들의 눈빛 표정연기가 캐리한씬. 덕분에 나도 이장면보고 많은생각이들고 정말 내가 고려시대때 원나라에 온거같고 정말 아무튼 감동받음

저도 3년전쯤 우연히 재방보다 덫에 걸려 정주행했었는데 한동안 못 헤어나오고 허우적댔음.
내가 봤던 사극 중 가장 위대했던 사극이었습니다.
이 드라마가 처음 나왔을 때.. 전 10살 정도였고 커서 유학을 와있는 지금...곧 2020년이 다가오는 이 날에도 위대하다고 장담할 만큼..저에게는 아름답고도 아름다운..사극이었습니다.

처음 1화에서 황후 책봉식 중 왕유랑 서로 마주보고 슬프게 우는 이 장면까지만 하더라도...후궁견환전 견환처럼 사랑하는 사람은 따로있지만 살아남기위해 황후에 오르는 그런 쫄깃한 궁중암투물인줄 알았는데... 뜬금없이 후반부에 승냥이가 타환 사랑하게되고 타환이 왕유 죽이면서 1화 첫장면에서 보여줬던 플롯이 다 어긋나버림ㅠㅠ
타환의 진심을 알게됬죠..그러면서 사랑하게 된거고
원작도 마지막에 타환에 대한 사랑을 인정하면서 끝났어요. 승냥이는 두사람 전부 사랑했어요.

After finishing the series when I look back at the first episode, I realize how much she had already suffered to reach this stage. To be honest I never really cared or thought of whom did nyang love more, the fact that whomever she loved from the bottom of the heart, she lost them makes it a heartbreaking yet beautiful journey. And I believe both wang yoo and ta hwan love and deserve her equally , its just that the fate favoured nyang and ta hwan to be together while Wang yoo to be sacrificed in the name of love. wonderful drama and memorable performance by ha ji won as a strong empress.
Because in reality, Wang Yu didn't even exist it's a real life story of Empress Ki but in history Wang Yu did not exist and Tahwan did not die. 😊

I am just in love with Ji Chang Wook he is so handsome. He hasn’t changed much from this drama til now, he still looks handsome as of today. I have seen basically all of his dramas and the roles he plays are always cheerful and funny, but I specially love this role of his because it’s very different from all the other ones, in the beginning of this drama Ji Chang Wook had to play a role that made him feel like a selfish and stupidity person who knew nothing at all and was fearful of his surroundings. But damn!! he had a character growth and later he very much became an emperor that everybody wanted him to be and don’t even get me started on his love for Yang.

and 2:38 - she apologizes to wang yoo without words. they dreamed their future together, wang yoo wanted to make her his queen and she accepted but fate and nyang's choice, they couldn't be together. they had a son but they couldn't raise him and they saw their son's death, also the boy never knew his true parents. nyang has a son from ta hwan and she is married with him now instead of wang yoo. ta hwan has what wang yoo's wishes: marrying with nyang, make her queen/empress, has a son from nyang and most important thing: nyang's love. she loved wang yoo but she loves ta hwan now. so she feels sorry for him, her ex lover/fiance and friend.
yeah wang yoo was her first love but i'm talking about episode 50, i mean many years passed and she felt sorry for wang yoo and their fate. she was in love ta hwan from ep32 i think, more precisely she devoted herself ta hwan from ep32(and ep34 truly) but she always cared about him. and she always cared about wang yoo too. when she was in love wang yoo, she cared ta hwan; when she was in love ta hwan, she cared wang yoo. i think she tried to be fair LOL
first love is important but i believe the second is more important.
nyang's situation is like that: first love never dies but true love can bury it alive
Late reply because the coronation/wedding scene of niyang and emperor were shot first before any scenes to entice viewers to view they made it like she's still in love with wangyu...but she was way over wangyu from the time she gave herself up to the emperor...and she never said I love you to wangyu not once in the entire story..she is devoted to him as a subject and infatuated with him...pitied him coz she knew he never got over her...its more of pity and indebtedness for all the sacrifices he had gone thru...that's my pov

There are historical dramas, and then there is Empress Ki, in a class by itself. Actress Ha Ji Won plays the most powerful female character in all of cinema. From slave to Empress in 51 episodes, destroying anyone who opposes her.
My number 1 favorite is still Hwang Jini (Ha Ji Won also played the lead role here).
2nd is Empress Ki.
3rd is The Princess's Man.

I finished the drama a couple days ago and now rewatching this first scene pains my heart so much. This entire story, from the very beginning until the very last moment, is absolutely tragic. A rollercoaster of emotions and plot twists that gets your heading spinning. I can still not process the ending yet. I still can not stop listening to the OST and think deeply about how everything could've changed if one SIMPLE decision was made differently. OMG. THIS DRAMA IS DRIVING ME NUTS. I CAN NOT.

Many felt sorry for nyang and wang yo but for me I felt very sorry for emperor. Everybody even his mother and also nyang used him to get power. He truly loved nyang but never got same love in return as nyang's heart was filled by wang yo. When emperor knew maha was wang yo son, the pain he felt really made me heartbroken. Everybody just ended up using him even his loved ones!!!!
