Honestly, from how much they've ruined everything they touch, I'm 'glad' when they release something and its not an adventure or campaign setting I cherished. Still, really feels like WOTC is releasing more 'lifes style' brand stuff cause they dont have the skill or talent to actively make anything new, even the Book of Many Things was kind of a below mid flop where they couldn't make the cards right. So instead they release a children's Golden Book and a Cocktail book. Which makes sense considering a lot of the writers they've hired pretty much came from a background of writing cookbooks and anything not fantasy or fiction related.
I've been playing for almost a decade in 5e and I've never felt like my players are overpowered, I didn't know that this was even a complaint I'll be honest. I don't mean to sound insensitive but it sounds like your DM is not trying hard enough to present a challenge. This IS my rirst edition of playing in DnD but I'm also reallly into the history of the game and trying to learn what I can from ""elder DM'S"". I do know what you mean though I'm not happy with wotc especially after the lay offs last month

Do you think they are going to use the Vecna book to usher in the new Edition of Dungeons and Dragons, kind of like how Die Vecna Die! was the last book for 2nd Edition? In fact I believe it was the in-game reason why there was a new edition?
