The sad irony is that Berlin basically has become uninhabitable and way too stressy, loud and busy as well. Sharing a lot of London's negative traits. As a native Berliner i can tell you this city changed to the worst very fast since 2000.
While I haven’t been to Berlin personally, I agree that in general, Europe’s capital cities have become vacuums sucking people and infrastructure from the rest of their respective countries in order to maintain so-called ‘ world hubs’. London for instance is pretty disliked by the rest of the UK, not individual people of course but just the structure of things. Then ultimately, living in these capital cities becomes impossible due to the cost of living and house prices.
