  • Below you'll find complete instructions as well as links to the products I used in this video. The nice people at Globleland.com sent me these products to try and I'm truly grateful. As always, I'm not affiliated with Globleland, but they were kind enough to send me some products to try and gave me discounts for my viewers, which is what I always ask for when trying out new products...

To make the card, I took the largest die with circles cut into it and cut a piece of striped paper with this die. I used a green card base that is 8 1/2" long by 5 1/2" wide, scored on the 8 1/2' length at
4 1/4" creating an A2 sized card. I put glue on the back of the die cut striped paper and laid it on
the card base. Then I took a navy blue scrap that was 1 1/2" wide so fits the narrowest setting for the tag punch. I used a sentiment from a magazine that says "with sympathy" and stamped it with Versamark ink on the navy blue paper. I used a small container of Nuvo embossing powder in a yellow color and then heat set the sentiment. I punched one end of the strip then cut the scrap so it's 5 1/4" and then punched the other end to turn it from a tag into more of a banner...not sure what I'd call that shape, sorry. I used beige grosgrain ribbon and looped it in half and pushed it through one of the holes and pushed the ends of the ribbon through the loop and pulled them tight, then did the same to the other end. I added tear tape to the back and laid the ends of the ribbon in the tear tape. I used some thin foam tape strips I bought on Amazon, link: tinyurl.com/5bf... I added a butterfly I bought at the Dollar Tree link: tinyurl.com/mry...
I FINALLY figured out how to melt wax melts and it's so much simpler than the candle system. I used my heat tool instead and held the little spoon without having it get too hot (which was surprising) and how to scrape the wax out of the spoon with a silicone tool I bought on Temu, link: tinyurl.com/4pt...
I used 5-7 of the little wax melts to create the perfect circle. I used a marble scrap to pour the wax onto and stamped with the cat and mouse stamp. I show a mold I bought to create the perfect wax seal circle, but I think it's too big and I didn't show using it as it took too many wax melts to fill and then the stamp got buried in the wax. Just so you know, the mold was a big disappointment. I did use it for the heart seal that is in this video so you can see just how large the seal becomes. • Last Minute Valentine'... I probably won't be using it again unless I figure out what else I can do with it besides using it for wax melts.

Thanks Sandy. That's a beautiful Sympathy card and I am loving the wax seal. You did it to perfection. I haven't tried the wax seals yet and it looks so cool. It's 5am here in Ireland, I couldn't sleep but I am happy that you had uploaded this video. 😀 thanks for keeping me company. Carrie K C

Hey Carrie, so glad to hear from you but sad you couldn't sleep. I struggle with insomnia too, and it can be SO frustrating. I wanted to tell you how much I appreciated your channel when I wasn't walking. You are a really talented card maker and awesome at keeping your craft room the way I always hoped mine would be...I made a vow that every day I will put away 10 things and am trying to stick to it. When I was making videos in our sunroom in the wheelchair, I moved so many things there and now putting them back is a nightmare, haha....Wax seals, before this, were a nightmare for me, and I'm so glad I tried the heat tool as it is a game changer!

These dies are great and I used them to sew through the holes in another video and the set (I was sent it for free) but it's really inexpensive, or it was when I was sent it, and they cut great...you know I'm not affiliated with them so make no money from my opinion, but in my opinion they're great and different shapes, so versatile... So glad you liked the card..those wax seals have always been frustrating to make because it takes forever to melt the wax with a candle under it...this was SO much faster and easier.

@@craftingforalmosteveryone Not sure what I wrote the first time, but some how I closed my firefox. I would have to really think bout being affiliated with a company...most of them want you to make a video of what they gave you. I have all the things for wax seals but have not made them yet. I may make them with my daughter....she thinks they are pretty. She made some twinchies with me..we had fun together.

@@prettyrichgirl2007 I really liked using the heat tool for melting the wax...My spoon handle didn't get super hot either, and I really thought it would.
Affiliate links give you money for anything your viewers buy using your link...I'm not sure what they require other than videos for the free merchandise..

I think I'll get a lot of use out of the tag punch as I really liked using it on both ends to create more of a banner than a tag.

I am SO happy I tried my heat tool, as before this making wax seals was almost always a fail for me. Now when things go wrong, I just reheat it and start over...and the wait time for the candle to melt the wax is over. It takes so little time with the heat tool...and that little scraper makes getting the wax out of the spoon so much easier. I hope you try this simple technique, as it really made me happy....hope it does the same for you! Sandy

Great tip on using your heat embossed gun for melting the wax seal I need to try it.
Never heard of this company Globeland but I will check it out.
I hope you're doing better and that goes for Rich too.
Thanks for the video it's a pleasure getting one from you.

Globleland and Lifescrafts sent me products months ago and have been so kind about me delaying with all I had going on. I always ask for a discount code for viewers instead of affiliate status because I'm not doing this for anything other than keeping others crafting. I didn't realize how much I missed making videos and getting back into my craft room until I got back there. I'm still putting things away that I used while trying to craft in our sunroom with the wheelchair and my foot propped up on a chair. You can't believe how much stuff accumulated in there, haha, or maybe you can....I'm doing a lot better now that my leg is healed and I'm done with PT and the melanoma surgery is behind me. So glad to hear from you.

Hey Sandy! I wanted to tell u, I tried to watch your Valentine video several times but for some reason (I’m sure it’s on my end) I couldn’t. I will say it is a fabulous card. I think simple is the best way to go. I have a tendency to go overboard on my cards sometimes. On to this video. I love these graduated shape dies are so pretty. The tag punch is fantastic. I want you to know that I have made my own personal nylon pouch. I had no corn starch but I had cornstarch baby powder so, it smells good too! I have same problem with my clear stamps not sticking to my Misti stamping lid too. I’ll try the glue stick. Great idea. I do like to emboss too. I have spilled my embossing powders so often. I try to use a small paint brush to get rid of excess powder. I don’t have a lot of colored embossing powders as I do the same thing by using a colored ink pad and clear embossing powder. The stamping up paper is so pretty. You are going to get a lot of use out of that tag punch! Is that a We are Memory Keepers punch? I have three of their punch boards. One is the smaller thing to center crease my cards so they fold.. gosh! I just can’t think of the name. Anyway, u use a bone folder. I have the same heat tool.I’ve been looking on Temu to check out prices etc. it seems to be pretty awesome. Your wax seal technique is amazing. I’m not sure I would have thought of it!. Yes you did teach us everything about this and more! I do say why didn’t I think of that before! 😂 I didn’t know that about black cats. I’m so glad u adopted 2! I love my kitties too! When I was a kid we always had a cat and dogs. I love the tag with the ribbon for this card. So pretty I think the butterfly adds just the right touch! Hope all is well with you, Rich and your fur babies! You are always in my thoughts and prayers dear friend. You always make me crack up during your video’s! 😺❤️🤣

    • @craftingforalmosteveryone

The tag punch came in a generic package, so not sure who makes it, but it punches better than the one I have from Stampin' Up that I paid so much for, it was just wrong. I love the way this punch embosses the circle around the hole and looks so much more like a die cut with that extra touch.
Were you looking for score board where you describe creasing your cards? I just made a card for a friend and colored vellum with alcohol markers and what a mess I made. It's frightening. Rich is going to have to edit out a LOT of repetitive mess making, haha...but in the end, the card turned out pretty (in my opinion.)
If I could make money from spilling embossing powders, I'd be rich, haha....I think I've turned it into an art form. Not sure why you couldn't view the Valentine video. I checked it and it's working (you never know, it could've been on my end.) If you could tell how large that wax seal was, it was because I used the circle mold I showed and to get it to have enough wax in it to fill the bottom, it required 7-8 of the wax melts, and I eventually gave up using it because once it was full the stamps sunk and the wax went over the edges, making it impossible to pull the stamp up without ruining the design...so I went back to the scrap piece of marble and remelted the wax and it turned out perfect, just HUGE!
As for the cats, we only adopted the mother, and then she brought her baby to Rich, making two, and now we have Bob, who I think is a sibling of mom's but will really long, ungroomed hair. He's so pathetic, and we don't want another cat, but can't say no to feeding him as he's starved and whoever leaves their cats like this should be in jail or fined heavily enough that they get their animals spayed/neutered like we did with our two. We're probably going to have to assume Bob is ours and get him neutered with shots..Wish they could groom him too..he's feral and ours were but now they absolutely love Rich and both want to be inside cats so cry and stare at us through the window which makes Honey lose her mind...but makes me feel terrible for them outside. We do have an igloo that's lined and they have a heated mat inside of it so they should be warm but still, it feels wrong having outside animals in our kind of weather. I always love hearing from you..

Hi! Yes I thought that the punch being able to emboss around the circle was impressive too! Like I said I have a few punch boards and they are the best and they were from WRMK same colors of your punch. I really like their products. I also have their foiling pens for the cutting machines. I have only had user errors!🤣 YES YES YES score board is what I was trying to think of! Thank you for refreshing my memory! You’re the best, Sandy. ~😺❤️

I have some WRMK tools, I think my favorite is the envelope punch board...but every time I use it, I hurt my wrists/hands from punching that large button. I need to start using my foot on it instead, haha.

    • @katzbaugh9806
      @katzbaugh9806 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Yeah I hear what your saying about the envelope board. It’s my favorite too, I do think using your foot is a good idea or the bacon press u had at one time. Ha ha. I did get a really good deal on of premade envelopes on a online returns site. They went to a wedding invitations I think. I got them for about $2.00. So, you can see why I couldn’t pass them up. ~K

I always like it when I find envelopes at estate sales or garage sales as I never have enough and even when I buy 50 at a time, then I do cards for cubs and use 30 of them so I'm never really ahead of the game.

@@craftingforalmosteveryone I am so glad that you will be stopping in Halifax, but dress warm because April is not usually a very warm month. I can’t promise that I could come down and meet you because my husband Martin has dementia and I never know which days he will be okay and which days he won’t. If at all possible I would love to see you but We also spend a lot of time in Cape Breton with our daughter and her family because he loves our grandsons so much that he seems better while we are there and it helps me because I feel not so alone with this problem. This is also why I enjoy watching your videos, you don’t let your health issues stop you from enjoying life! Thanks Sandy

I'd love to get some tips from you of places you think we shouldn't miss while there. I'd love to email with you. saundralparker@yahoo.com. I'm so sorry to hear of your husband's health issues. I can't imagine how difficult life must be for both of you. I can understand why the grandsons are a good distraction for him and some badly needed respite for you. I hope you'll email me when you have a chance...We are there on May 1st...how cold do you think it will be then?

@@craftingforalmosteveryone I wish that I could tell you how cold it will be in May, but it changes from year to year. I think that wearing layers is your best bet and if you carry a tote bag and it is really warm then you can stash your sweater in there. The whole waterfront is really neat and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is very interesting. The stores in Historic Properties are unique and filled with crafts, souvenirs and hand made items. Please be careful when you walk in Historic Properties because it is cobblestones and they can be uneven. If You have time to go to Peggy’s Cove which is about an hour outside of Halifax it is gorgeous! They have installed a wooden walkway so you don’t have to walk on the big rocks and it is very accessible. If I think of anything else I will send you another e-mail. I hope that you have a wonderful time on your cruise, you two really deserve a break! Judy❤️😁

Thanks for the tips Judy, I really appreciate the information. I always ride in my wheelchair when we walk very far as I'm slow to begin with and since my fall, I walk a lot slower than before and I truly hate cobblestones and worry that most of the cities we've be visiting will be mostly cobblestone. I really hope my health holds so we do have a good trip. We're trying to stay as far away from others as possible so we don't get sick before and during the tirp...
We love bakeries and wonder if there's one you recommend we try...

They do still sell the dies...Of the things they sent me, I really liked the tag punch because if has an embossed circle around the circle opening and when I used it, I cut both ends of paper so it made the paper more of an embellishment... The die link is below the video is you're interested....and, if you want to do another collab video, I'll email you the things I just requested from them.
