Thank you soooo much for your ideas. Was looking, ( dreaming), of Van Life for retirement for the past decade but with all the hype it is currently unaffordable. Now I'm outfitting my old Sienna with your "couples build". Your ingenuity is pretty much saving my life. Please tell your wife how grateful I am and that I am sure I am not alone! She should be 👏.
You could add a seat cushion and that would lift you up a bit if the level of the arm rest becomes an issue. Can you reach the slides from the front in case you needed the emergency brake in an emergency? Maybe by sliding your seat back slightly? Just thinking through it as I decide about doing something similar.
I would love to do this in my yaris but when I park on a steep hill I don't want to climb in the back to move the fridge before I pull up the hand brake
The idea is good but I can see you regretting the height of it real quick. I bet you won't find it comfortable to keep your arm up that high and since the fridge basically creates a wall right there if you try and put your arm any lower you'll feel like you're being squished between the door and the fridge. Others have actually done this mod before and the easiest solution is to just get a fridge that isn't as tall.

Yes, building a Sienna can be quite affordable. Not luxury like a sprinter that you can stand up in, but it can get the job done

I am 6-5...I use the same type Fridge and it's great..

@Tiny-Campers I just Installed Mine right on top of the OG cupholder 10 minutes ago and the E-Brake works...Uploading a Video now
