    Make me sad with warm weather. Sitting here with the stove going and it’s 25F outside. And that view. I know I say it every time but you got something amazing out there.

    Incredible effort Alistair! Whenever I find a random fence in the high country up a steep hill I am always amazed that someone could have done it. It’s incredible to see the effort that goes into it.

    50 degrees, wow that's steep, guess you want to just do the job just once. Great weather, great video. Cheers.

      Hey Alistair check out Gundagai Lamb. A processor who is working with lamb producers to produce a quality product which they pay the farmers a premium price. Interesting and I immediately thought of you and how you were mulling over producing your own brand. Thanks for the video. You looked a bit buggered there in the video

    Mate, a Waratah ( Telopea speciosissima)i s a plant endemic to NSW where it is enshrined as the official floral emblem. It grows best in sandy soils and is made up from hundreds of tiny flowers. It grows to about 2-4 metres. Its not a piece of angle iron used as a temporary steel or iron fence post, which is called (in Australia) as angle iron!.
    LoL call it what you want.....just joshing!

    When you mentioned the running over the waratah I had a flash back to the 100s of tractor tyre's I repaired outside on the farms around lake Taupo, and yes amazing view's. 😊😊😊.

    Great work on the fencing. You will be happy when that is all done.
    Grass still nice and green on the flats. Not like here in Marlborough. Had drought meeting today and the group are trying to convince the minister to declare a drought over a lot of Marlborough and tasman districts. The driest it has neen this early for many years.

    I still remember repairing fences at Bananna. The fence wasnt bad but the owner tore my hands to shreads - helping me. I left that night with no transportation and a rubber cheque.

    what awful conditions to fence in we would start early and finish before the heat of the day however the boys would then wind up in the pub!

    • @denethelning8271
      @denethelning8271 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think as long as the job doesn't have too much time pressure on it you can break it down into manageable chunks and fit in around farm work. In a totally unrelated matter do you carry a locator beacon?.

    Savage work Alister …
    Question: how long would you expect those strainers to last - like if the wind doesn’t blow them away like😂
    (Looks like it would blow the milk out of your tea up there.)

    • @kiwifarmernz
      @kiwifarmernz  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      They will defiantly out last me, especially in these dry conditions. Yea the wind can get bad up on the ridge tops.

    Thanks , never looks as steep on film, 50 degrees is pretty steep, I suppose anything over that is by hand ? A lot of my boundary fence , where i have no choice to move it, is really fall down stupid steep, have been known to cut trees if close enough to where i want and just use them . My place is quite thick with trees.

    • @kiwifarmernz
      @kiwifarmernz  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's handy to have trees nearby. Yea that's steep enough for me, so that's why I did the bottom of the line with steel posts.

    • @kiwifarmernz
      @kiwifarmernz  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      With either a full or half waratah or star post, then no8 wire stapled to the post.

    Last 2 weeks my lambs have averaged £165/hd and £160....it’s nuts.
    I just don’t get it with our economy the way it is.
    Is your lamb trade any better?
    Looks too hot and dry for fencing 😀
