Have just 2 Fender guitars as historically have been a Gibson and ESP player. But one of those is a MIJ strat, the international colour series based on the 70s strat and love it, excellent guitar. The only Jazzmaster I have is the unusual American Acoustasonic. This Jazzmaster sounds great though and tempted if still available - although I was sold on it before i heard a note just by the look of it! The best looking Jazzmaster i have ever seen regardless of price, the fact that is under 2k is quite the bonus! And great review as always, thank you 👍
Mate I am in love with this guitar (that particular one in your hand). Wish it was in my budget I’d have snapped it up right now. I’m eye’ing up the same MIJ FSR but in ashwood, comes to around 1.1k but that’s a while away before I hit buy on that 😢
Im in Japan about to buy a Jazzmaster. Hybrid II sounds a little nicer it seems, the 250k pot maybe help calm the sound a little over those 1meg in the FSR. But I do like the glossy necks on guitars. For me these would be like $1k USD and $1.4k for the FSR. Crazy they put the switch on the top in the hybrid II when already everyone's biggest complaint about the Rhythm circuit is accidentally hitting the switch. Now there is an even bigger switch.
Awesome man! I hope you enjoy whichever jazz you go for. Fair point about the jazz circuit, I guess the big switch would only affect the pickup selection and wouldn’t be as detrimental to the tone as the jazz circuit would be in terms of volume loss. Let me know which one you go for 👍
@@squealingpigguitars I saw another TH-camr get one from the custom shop, He did 250k pots on the main circuit and the 1meg on the rhythm circuit, so he gets that more tame guitar sound on the main circuit (like the hybrid II) and then the classic jazzmaster 1meg circuit on the rhythm circuit which is just the neck pickup(not really a rhythm circuit anymore). Which is cool because a big complain is the 1meg just doesn't work great with the bridge pickups, so isolating it to the neck is a nice move.
