Once again, you have influenced me to get yet another box 😂 My first was X92, then Tanix TX6, and now Tanix KickPi.. and I'm glad I bought it. Such a huge leap from TX6, especially on the certified Google android perks and its 4K streaming. 👍🏻 Even here in Malaysia, we can install our local Astro streaming app, that's a huge plus since other boxes are not compatible. 2GB in 2024? Small on paper, but it just works. It's even smoother than my previous 4GB TX6, loads any stream instantly.
thanks for showing and proving the staffs, looks good, I have no idea if the virgin streaming thing I got is 4K or not, but the benefit it has it can stream the UK Freeview and pay channels if you're still into that. My TV is a Philips Android so this would be kinda redundant for that even if the Android experience runs a little smoother on it. This would be good for the low end LG TV we have, WEB OS is SOOO laggy now cus they infested it with ads and more imaages etc.
Will this box install and reliably run the 'Movie HD' streaming app (for movies/TV series, available from the 'Movie HD Official' website)? I've tried doing this on Roku, Chromecast and a couple of other cheapo Android TV boxes but, sadly, no go. It IS an app I use regularly. I'm not sure if it is the Android TV OS or not, as the 'Movie HD' app works fine on my phone and ageing Nvidia Shield K1 Tablet (which I currently use as a form of TV box... 😎🇬🇧
Hi. So the 400mbs Jelly Fish did not pass because of the usb 2 limitations. If you copied the file to a usb type c drive, or copied the file on to the box would it pass then?
I'm wanting to get away from amazon fire I've got the cube and unfortunately this isn't as good such a shame because it's still really good for the money!
I am sick of the adverts on my TV and on my Firestick. It's my fuking TV I don't want ads ! I tried blocking them with my firewall and it broke my apps. So I think this box will be perfect for my job. One quick question, can it output 192KHz/24bit audio over hdmi? from VLC or similar thanks.
There IS an alternate to this box with some really good specs, but VITALLY, 4Gb RAM... the 'Tanggula X5 Pro', There are videos on TH-cam showing this Android TV box... 😎🇬🇧
Such a shame it only has 2gb of ram and a 100mb lan port. A USB 3 port would have been nice too. Shame really as the software side looks better than average. Still, at the price, it's a strong effort. It's the 100mb lan that lets it down for me as it seems to cope OK with only 2gb ram.
@@ChigzTech At the price though I'm seriously considering a punt on it. If it doesn't live up to expectation I'm sure I could offload it for pretty much what it cost me. I'm in the market for a new box, but getting tired of waiting for the shield to drop in price enough to be a bargain.
Great review. Chigz please review the new formuler z mini stick / dongle. Dont want to buy a new fire stick. A lot of chat recently about amazon locking fire stick OS soon. No sideloading...
If only the price was a bit higher and the ram was a bit more could be worth it mate did you see my comment/message on the acemagic pcs bro? Dont buy them mate they loaded with malware! 🚫🧢 In other news it my moms birthday today shed of been 54 today but she committed suicide 9 years ago when i was 21 😔 she's looking down for something tho and still got me even tho it her day i ordered a nothing phone 2a yesterday and it will arrive today when it should take a week...🤯
A pretty but low spec box... which would be okay of it supported dual monitors. It's simply inexcusable that in 2024 there are no android boxes that support dual monitors. That's why I use a mini PC. I gave up on these boxes about 5 years ago.
As always, every android tv box (even more the certified ones) have really weak and disappointing hardware! The only android box I ever saw with decent hardware is the H96 Max V58, but then again that box is not certified for anything (so streaming services and apps will run at garbage video quality), that box also uses hacked and normal android (aka, is not android tv, and it has a bunch of hacked stuff to work at landscape mode all the time) and its software is also unsafe cause it usually has spyware\malware etc, in other words, it keeps calling and sending china your data at minimal.
Thanks for posting this video.
I would like to see a review of the Nokia 8010, thats google certified and updates to Android 12 which could be an alternative to the Fire cube.
Did you find the 2gig ram being so low effected the box performance at all? Did the box get hot?
Nice informative introduction as always 👍👍👍👍👍👌
Thanks 👍
Good review on a nice TV Box for the money.
Dose it support itvx and iplayer

which is better between Mecool KM2 plus vs KickPi KP1 , your choice please thx
Great video, have you tried the Kinhank G1-Android 11.0 TV Box? I'd like to know how it ranks on your list.
Great video thank you, Is there a supplier in the UK for this box?
Hi do you want to review the OSMC Vero V? It is a kodi box.
Great video and very informative as always thanks mate ❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it
Mate if its the same price, should i go for this or the mi box s 2nd gen?
Eid mubarak bro bit early but yeah 😂

Interesting, can you compare with Homatics Dongle G 4K It has the same specs with different os Homatics with Google TV OS while Kickpi with Android TV
And the USB type-C port? You forgot to test it? 🙂
Chigz, when are you going to review the new Onn 4k pro?
6:51 That Ramadan feed tho
Hopefully they were going for "Kick Pie" with the naming scheme 😁
Yes thats what I called it towards the end lol.
can you download vpns ??? will this update
to 13 android from 11 ???
What is the purpose of the USB Type C port? Does it support storage or optional power input?
Did you ever find out?
No. I decided to go for a different brand. Will look at getting one of these in February
@@shaheed157 wondering too

If I'm not mistaken, the USB C on the KickPi isn't for data, just to power an external device using 5V output
Doesn't seem widely available. It does come to amazon or ebay will probably cost more.
aliexpress
Nice...what about future updates?
Was wondering if it can nativitely use ntfs through usb or the microsd?
Yes supports NFTS
@@ChigzTech thanks! Didn't notice my typo till now lol
Does it have BBC iPlayer?
Hi, which Box do you recommend to me with 4GB Ram and must be Netflix and Prime Video certified?
Thanks
Check out the tv box chart at www.chigztech.com/charts.html
u didnt try usb c ... why
looks the same as KinHank box which works very well for me
Emulation?

2gb ram? in 2024?
Yeah wouldn't be going for 2gb ram myself unless its a cut down version of android like Formuler have on their devices.

excellent value but why is amlogic chip 64 bit in 32 bit mode ?
I am going to be honest with you nothing is like the formula Z mini and I have three NVIDIA shields and two apple 4K and other devices
Good for the price.
Shame on ram
Also unknown brand, future updates will be something to consider. Otherwise a big thumbs up. Thank you Chigz
Updates? Don't need em. Android 11 is good, stable updates are more trouble than they're worth, providing everything is working well.
In 2024 still used 100mb Lan need to upgrade to 1000mb

Firestick replacement for sure. i would need either 1G LAN or USB3 to get higher speeds. Surprised that both were left out.
Why you need that on a android box?
😂
Not bad! I wonder how they come up with these names, KickPi? C'mon.. Is it Kick Pee or Kick Pi?
I call it Kick Pie, sounds cooler
👍🏼👍🏼
Just waiting on nvidia sheild pro 2
Been waiting for that for many years, not sure if it will happen.

11:28 No USB 3.0 isn't that a Con
If your just using this for streaming. And have all the other apps closed. It is all you need

this isn't designed to be a PC replacement, its simply a streaming box, nothing more.
😁😁😁👍👍👍.....
100mb lan ill leave it lol
Sorry, no thanks for $50. Only 2G ram and no G Lan.
