- On Monday’s (Oct. 15) episode of #EverydayStruggle, Nadeska, DJ Akademiks and Wayno review Quavo’s debut album, ‘Quavo Huncho,’ and share their favorite songs off the Migo member’s project. The crew then gives their take on two of the hottest single releases from the weekend, Kodak Black’s “Zeze” featuring Travis Scott and Offset, and Bad Bunny’s “MIA” featuring Drake. Ak and Wayno then weigh in on Drake’s recent interview with LeBron James, where the 6 God airs out Kanye West for his “manipulative” moves, and calls out Pusha T for crossing the line during their summer rap battle. Later in the show, the crew breaks down the meeting between Kanye West and President Donald Trump and debate whether or not Kanye was right for meeting with Trump, and discuss the the topics the Chicago rapper presented the POTUS with during their meeting.

When pressed about his opinion, he has coward away and uses talking points from other people, delegates others to speak on his behalf personally, or he will say "I don't get my information from books, I get my information from the spirit". That is not intellectually honest in any capacity. Image hearing a political activist utter those same words or the President himself. I do agree with Kanye about bringing jobs to the inner city and revising the 13th amendment in order to close in on the prison industrial complex, but who doesn't (besides those who are profiting off of the status quo, of course)? Kanye is not bringing super innovative ideas to the table. These talking points have been tracing almost a century back. Many black people have already spoken about the things that he has, supplied with a trove of factual information, but in Kanye's eyes, we are "monolithic". I don't understand how a group of people who have had inner ideological battles such as DuBois vs Washington, X vs King, Black Panther vs Nation of Islam, and etc. can be deemed monolithic. He should know this more than anyone. The problem is not that he is speaking about these things, but how he goes about it and who he is speaking to. Where was this energy when Obama was around? Why didn't he support Sanders instead of Trump before Election Day? Kanye himself said that if he were president, his policies would be more in line with Sanders. Why hasn't he volunteered in Chicago or worked with the local government to increase jobs and attention to mental health in the city? Is he not familiar with checks and balances? Does he not know that the President is limited in responsibilities and capabilities?
He wants to talk about mental health, but he isn't taking prescribed medication, standing on tables rather than balancing his mindframe. He can even research and promote alternative forms like ketamine therapy and whatnot, but instead he is all talk. He is actively stigmatizing forms of therapy that help people every single day, saying that antidepressants and therapists are a form of "mind control".
He is willingly giving a demagogue the momentum to potentially win a second term rather than actually promoting change on his own. Rather than Trump inviting intellectual powerhouses like Neil Degrasse Tyson, Bill Nye, and etc., he invites Kanye West. You don't see anything wrong with that?
