This seems like an _amazing_ way to avoid the night time raiding that often happens in these sandboxes! Giving smaller groups more control of the timing is an especially clever choice.
I like the idea to inform players of incoming attacks before hand. This should prevent the typical sandbox hassle of losing your base while you're logged out.
That's what kills arc for me personally. It takes forever to get a good foundation and then some dude with a t-rex terminator comes along while you're logged off and ruins it. Glad this game is being innovative with this and many other mechanics.
@@TrentCantrell remember that this is only for stations and cap ships outside of the safe zone, inside the safe zone (which is gigantic btw and has more then enough room for hundreds of thousands of stations) your stuff will be safe forever. So everyone should always have a core set of assets that cant be harmed

This will certainly need months of fine tuning but you can tell the Devs have been paying attention to other games. More risk to the attackers, mechanics to give smaller groups a break. Good stuff.
Looks amazing. Glad to see such thought and detail was put into the mechanics even this early on. I like the addition of a mineral cloud rich in the resources of the destroyed. Kinda explains the loss of scrap due to vaporization. Really looking forward to the early access launch!

Whatever recording setup is being used starting at 0:49 is much better on the ears (in headphones, anyway). It's more.. soothing, somehow. Just feedback.
I like how FB is handling this, the infamous offline raiding that plagued many survival games and wannabe mmos (here's looking at you Atlas, DayZ, Scum, etc) seems like it was carefully thought through! A true raid/war and not just some group chest beating over what amounted to PvS (Player Versus Structure)!
Last oasis? The proxy has a set time where you can get ready for an attack, and you can pack your buildings unless you placed them on solid ground. I don’t understand you

I have to admit these are solid rules that should maximize fun, minimize griefing and promote Fairplay. Still, bigger factions are able to steamroll smaller ones, but one can always ask for help so no bitching about that. i suspect they ll look at how are we playing in early access, and then keep making changes accordingly, they probably don t have all that defined already
@@spartanv0 Well attacks will work on any station out side the safe zone but I assume that small factions only has those in the safe zone and uses exclusively civilian capital ships. IMO that is more than enough for fair game. And this method still keeps the risk vs reward balanced.
So when I finally get my hands on the game I think I'm gonna make a war zone salvage company and contract my ship out to salvage ships in the middle of ongoing war zones for the faction that hires me. I get paid on the value of the haul per trip.
Tbh I think these fantasies never live out because players in game will just do what is most efficient aka do it themselves and hiring ppl is too much hassle
Mineral clouds are a great way to handle debris. It beats having to take a performance hit from clutter and is much better than just deleting small debris.
Filter feeding confirmed! Sounds like a good inital pass, now we just have to test it. The implication is stations (outwith the SZ) are always fair game. This is at odds to civilian battleships.

Having a community of thousands is great, especially when it's guaranteed atleast half of them will be buying the game and reviewing it as soon as It releases. You just need it to get to the top selling pages of steam and it will add many more players.

How do you think they will handle multiple military capital ships in one warzone? Say Cap A jumps on a station to null the safezone but the defenders jump in their own cap ship to help defend? Is this possible?
@@fr4me.01 certainly possible, but considering the jump times this would need to be committed to very early on in the initial countdown or will turn up when the battle is over
would love too see something like scout ships for the defending and atacking side be useful. the idea of making fast information gathering vessels is very cool too me and it would be cool too see fetures built around it.
If you can sort out a working radar using rangefinders, it will become necessay to investgate the signatures that your warships pick up on their scanners. In this case, a fast and disposable scout craft will be a godsend for battlefield info and tactical/strategic advantage.

Sounds cool, you should really wait and release the game when this function is ready though. You only get one launch for the game, early access or not, people will judge the game regardless. Release it with the best possible gameplay mechanics.

It's not as expensive, it's less clunky, and for when it is in gravity it is lightweight. Nuclear power would be more for things like factories, endo's probably have an infinite battery that is charged by the sadness of people in this world.
After playing Jedi fallen order I thought it would be cool being a scrapper. And after elite dangerous odyssey’s mess, this looks like the perfect game.
Would it be possible to build a bait station? Lure unsuspecting capitol ships to attack with baiti g ”goods” and then strike to steal the ship. Could the capitol ship then be sold? Could this be some kind of way to profit big time ingame?
Sieges look good. Still prefer cap ships to not have safe zones at all. The dynamic zone works for stations though. As for damaging to prevent escape, how damaged? We talking percent totals or do they have to invade the ships and break the drive? The video implies the same rules apply but it was just glossed over. So are we to expect capture zones and and engine to destroy?

I'm assuming the prevention will be in the distance making such an idea not all that viable compared to coming in with a MCAP and launching ships from there. The time and danger traveling from a CCAP way outside the AO compared to just using a MCAP would make the difference as long as FB makes it a good distance IMO.
What about cities on the moons? Also can you move a starbase and if it’s possible can you integrate a ship or base into asteroids? And if so can you drop rocks onto cities or Starbases?
Like another comment said if a civilian cap ship is inside the dynamic safe zone when the war begins it should not be immune to war.This will create problems in the future.I'm fine with it being immune the rest of the time.But creating too many immortal things is a recipe for disaster.

So how will capturing a regular ship work? Im keen to do some space pirating and spoke to a friend playing the beta and he said there's no way to essentially hijack a ship and drive it away. Essentially you have to cut it up and just salvage parts? Can anyone confirm please
You can fly other people's ships outside of safezones, but there's currently no way to steal the ownership of a ship, which means you will lose it if you fly it into a safezone and that you can't store it in your station inventory. However, ways to steal ownership are planned - like many other aspects of the game, they just haven't gotten around to implementing the full featureset for pirating yet.
Really concerned about civ caps, would really appreciate a video or some progress updates on them. Going anywhere they want station to station even out of the safe zone and being indestructible seems very broken. Large groups can use this for easy and quick hauling for resources and ships without worring about other groups. Thoughts.
@@Strill_ civ caps can only go station to station but they are still indestructible. I also wonder if the civ cap get stuck in a war zone if it can be destroyed then or if it is still invulnerable.
And when you are a faction of just 4 Ppl and it tells you your Station will be under attack in 24 hours, but all 4 ppl have to work at this time... what can you do against this attack?
I have feeling that destroying a station will also destroy my computer with the size and mess of all the floating debrie. I may need to upgrade my pc again or build a new 1. Anyone got an idea of how much i would need to spend to get brand new pc capable of playing this game?

This is a deal breaker for me in an open world PVP game. If my stuff can be lost without me ever having a chance to defend, I don't play the game.

A large faction probably won't be able to attack a small one, unlike other games.

Capital ships cannot fly. They can only fast travel.
