The points that Captain Ross (Kevin Bacon) makes about 'Point to the page that explains Code Red's', it's a decent argument, but a very arbitrary one. Kaffee (Tom Cruise) know this is a flimsy arbitrary argument that Ross is making, and he highlights it. When it comes to Military procedure, Corporation procedure, School procedure, it is unlikely that EVERYTHING that goes on will be listed in some damn book. As a former Marine, one thing bothers me about this movie?? Where are the senior enlisted Marines?? Why is the highest enlisted rank seen a corporal? Where are the Sergeants, and Staff NCO’s?? Officers, especially ones with rank as high as Colonels typically don’t get involved with enlisted matters unless it comes to things like office hours. They usually apprise the Sergeant Major on such matters and he takes it from there. And trust and believe Sergeants Major will get things done, that’s why they have the rank they do. They’ll usually go to that Marine’s chain of command and handle the issue. That’s why the middle and senior enlisted ranks are there to provide that buffer between the junior enlisted and the officers. Why would a lieutenant be handling this instead of delegating this to his platoon sergeant, first sergeant or company gunny? I understand there’s continuity issues and the need to save time but I’m sure they could’ve factored that in and worked around it.
I'm also a Marine veteran, and in my experience, a Corporal would NEVER be afraid of getting beat up by a Lance Corporal, nor would Dawson have gotten any billet that makes a Corporal have to answer to him. Also, I agree that having no sergeants or staff NCOs present was strange. At least have the one that pushed Santiago down the hill.

That's not necessarily a good question by Kaffee at the end. That book was a Standard Operating Procedures book, not a map of the base. It's for lining out procedures, schedules, processes, etc, not a guide map for the physical location of every single building on the base.
I don’t understand why Kevin Bacon’s character went into this line of questioning. Was he trying to establish that there was no obligation to follow Code Red orders or what?

The regimental sergeant major (that guy would have gone ballistic) 5. The battalion Commander and 6. the battalion XO and the Battalion Sergeant Major? Why is a full bird colonel directly interacting with a snide 2LT?

Yes he was
And he's a lousy fuckin softball player
Maybe smoking some oregano would help him?
I don’t understand why Kevin Bacon’s character went into this line of questioning. Was he trying to establish that there was no obligation to follow Code Red orders or what?
It means Just bcoz Code Red isn't written in the book doesnt mean it doesn't exist. And Kevin Bacon understand what Tom Cruise was implying
Wow! I had no idea that Noah Wyle was in ~A Few Good Men~.
I've seen it but, I just wasn't aware it was him.
I didn't see him until I started watching E.R. as a kid :)
I'll have to watch the film again.
It’s a great film with great actors.
I yearn for pre social media days... yes, even pre internet days. Do you remember what it was like to look at yourself in the mirror and not have a concept of anything encroaching upon you... other than what you could physically see?!
every time I see Kevin Bacon I want to eat bacon.
every time I see tom cruise I want to have sex with val kilmer until he shows me the money
Naho Saenoki me to I want all of our cocks to touch
Every time I see Kevin Bacon, Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, Demi Moore, Bruce Willis, money, cocks touching or broken glass, I want to eat bacon
Every time I see kevin Bacon, I want to check out great deals on mobile phones.
What happens when you see Eldon T. Pussy?
Such a great movie. Every time ita on tv I get sucked in watching it
When I realized Tom cruise could act and wasn't just a action star.
3:17 What would you think if you were one of the jurors and you look over to see Jack's face only to see this reaction? 😛
This whole movie was a little of a mystery because just what were the feelings of: 1. The company commander 2. the Company 1st Sergeant. 3 the Company XO 4. The regimental sergeant major (that guy would have gone ballistic) 5. The battalion Commander and 6. the battalion XO and the Battalion Sergeant Major? Why is a full bird colonel directly interacting with a snide 2LT?
Epic redirect , I bet all the lawyers are like just once I would love to nail my opposing attorney like that!!
