They are wigs. Clare has a video explaining that she struggles with trichotillomania which is where she compulsive pulls at her hair making it fall out and become very thin. Wigs help keep her from messing with her hair and give her the confidence back from when she had long hair. Her hair is mostly shaved underneath 🥰

I love the name "von Ziegenweid" eventhough it was so random how she got it xD because in german "Ziegen means goats and "Weid" is farmland for animals with lots of gras and flowers so that name paints a beautiful picture of her coming from the mountains where goats live and eat on large fields of gras and rocks :D
Hey Clare! This is just a random idea as you were thinking about making her more traditional rather than modern. But, for every generation you can change the ‘decade’ that they live in so the house, appearance, etc to fit the popular style from those eras. So you could start in like the 1800 and then increase 10years every gen for example. Let me know what you think of this idea 💖😊

Watching these back while caring for my elderly Labrador, in the past few months fudge has gone downhill very quickly but for almost 13 he still has all his teeth and is as sassy as ever, he’ll leave a big hole when he finally does pass on.

Maybe that's what happened to poor Claudia, except she wasn't killed but just weakened and basically reverted back to being a fledgling vamp. Oof. How embarrassing!
