The battery is what was making me hesitate to get a jump starter. Just don't want to deal with the hassle of making sure it's charged. This solves that problem. I can tuck it away and forget about it.
Hello again. I just purchased the Autowit a few days ago. My battery was completely dead and unable to charge the unit. I charged the unit to 100% using the cigarette lighter from another car. The charging was within a few minutes and I thought good to go. Placed cable connections on dead battery and nothing. The unit never recognized the connection to the battery. Am I doing something wrong with the cable connections to the dead battery? Thanks.
Got mine. Would like Supercap 3 to be able to preempt the charging cycle at say, 85% to go ahead and try to start the car. Lots of cars below 5 liters with moderate temps won't need a full charge. The worst that can happen is that it fails and starts the cycle over.
Just be careful with some of these newer cars and the computer is battery dependent I wouldn't want to take any chances. Man are they cars getting complicated 🤣..
Nice video. Thanks for talking & not playing music ❤. Have you ever tried to build a huge 12-16 volt capacitor bank & wire each slab in parallel? I’m thinking about giving it a try with solar panels being the power supply or a bike generator using a electric DC Motor. Ofcoarse with a solar charge controller, fuses etc. Any suggestions? Grateful to hear any opinions.
Not yet! I think you would be better off with power tool batteries like Ryobi for 18 volt or 36 volt and dewalt for higher voltage needs. Those batteries are very rugged and much cheaper.
Great video. Lots of useful information. perfect demonstration. Thanks. I would also like to see a review and demonstration video just on that particular battery meter you are using.
Yes and no. For the price there are other units but they have batteries and may only last 4 year but are three times cheaper. th-cam.com/video/5JzJVzD32uE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=V-k6QB4ikQtXOvc3
I didn’t try this on a diesel but it should okay for smaller 3.0 liter and under diesels. For some of large ford and Chevy diesel this may not be adequate.
Fully charged the autowit on second vehicle - connected it to the dead vehicle (which read Low Battery) - pushed button and got a 14v 98% but no countdown beeps ??? Went back to charge again to 100% , back to dead car but same result! WTH am I doing wrong?
I am not sure but are you transferring the charged unit fast enough for the autowit? Why can’t you charge the unit off the dead vehicle. It be charged off a really weak battery.
What if your battery produces 0 volts? I charged using an external battery pack but it doesn’t give me option to “power on” Almost as if it doesn’t detect a car battery is connected
Even a completely destroyed car battery will register some voltage unless there is a break in battery terminal as that is rare. If you let a battery sit for 3 years it will still show 2 to 6 volts. Keep me in the loop and let me know what you figure out using a digital multimeter
Had a question about this car I just financed just needed your advice reply to this comment if you think you can help thank you very much in a big mess hopefully it can be fixed
So I financed a car in New York State this pass Friday spent one day with it driving around and I finally came to a agreement that this car wasn’t for me I’m young I think I messed up big time so I went back to the dealer not even 24 hours of me having the car and they said I can’t bring it back and stuff like that sim about there was no cooling down period. But I looked in Ny states page and it says it by law that used car dealers must give you a option for a cooling down period as in if I wanna bring it back I can. What do you think and is there anyway I can get my money back?
So they are partly right, I can't speak for new york but in California we have a similar law, it does not apply to new but the buyer has to purchase the option to return the vehicle if they like buy purchasing that option and then paying a separate restocking fee if the buyer actually elects to return the car in 2 days and with less than 250 miles of driving. Did they offer you the option? Normally the disclosures is made in writing and needs your approval.
@@RANDOMFIX No they didn’t give me a option they just said that it’s not on their contract and I would have to do a couple of payment then try and sell the car back to them
I messed up tho because I didn’t review any details about the dealership now that I’m tryna get out of the contract I see that they do rip people off and there very sideways
Silly, you didn’t know even Teslas have a 12 volt battery that runs the 12 volts systems. The 12 volt system is used to activate all the other systems. The same is true of hybrids like the Prius, the 12 volt system starts the system so the high voltage system can run.

Sorry for the late reply! did you find a solution?
@@RANDOMFIX Yes. I got the Autowit Supercap 2. I've already used it about ten times to jumpstart vehicles....works every time.
Excellent demo
Looking At this one or the hulkman 85s . With the passage of three years would you still recommend the Autowit ? Thanks

@davidg9421 the needs to used within 12 or so seconds of being charged. It should charge even on a very depleted battery.
Thank you. I think that I may not be connecting the clamps correctly.@@RANDOMFIX

It's Worth try but why not just wait to 100%?

Are these super capacitors safe to use on hybrids?
@scottcrawford-vo4qr yes, the 12 volt battery will absorb the discharge.

Glad it helped
Excellent video, this answered all my concerns!

Thanks pal... Appreciated 🙏🏻👍🏻
It's now 2024 , Do you have an update on the AutoWit SuperCap2 Jump starter box since the last video ?
It’s still works, I left it in California with family when I was moving and they still use it.
Great review! Buying this product
Thx for the feedback
Great video

Mine works great and will start a large V8 motor.
Yeah this is good unit that can rely on and not have to worry about a died battery in the unit or the car. Thanks you for sharing your experience

Does it have an override function incase it doesn't detect a battery?
No it doesn’t don’t buy it if your batt reads very low or no volts it wont begin the count down
I appreciate your feedback Sorry for the late reply, did you get this handled?
I can't get the thing to work on a side-post battery.
Thank you sharing. Yes the side post can be very small and hard to grip. I didn’t think of that.
thanks!!
Thank you for your feedback, much apprecated!
Got one but not used it yet
I think you will enjoy and. It having to worry about keeping it charged is awesome

I don't need it for a EV car?

I was told the 12V battery is charged at the same time EV car's high voltage is charged, not sure but probably no need it.
Can you charge this unit by plugging it directly in electric outlet at home. What do i need to plug it it in electric outlet then?
You can charge it at home, in the car or using any USB port.
