- In this video I show you how I simulated a thatch roof using Plumbers Hemp, double sided sticky tape and PVA glue.......and yes at the end it should have said PzIII.....doah!!

Wow, this will help me a lot with scale modeling and diorama building! I have a idea you could maybe try, a abandoned soviet car/truck beside a old village house or in a forest in chernobyl

That dark foam must be exclusive to Europe. DYI stores where I am don’t carry.
XPS foam comes in various colours but the dark grey is just easy for me to get where I live👍

Thanks......I did stain it slightly with an acrylic Burnt Umber paint and when everything was dry it got a light dry brush with Tamiya Dark Yellow 👍

The video shows me using a white acrylic primer at 28:00 which is from Vallejo👍
Доброго времени суток!Работа замечательная!Только есть маленькое но...Если это Россия или СССР сороковых годов то в это время у нвс не было кирпича на селе.Стены в деревнях и сёлах были из самана,или из дранки,редко встречались каменные строение.И то и другое штукатурилось.Кирпич встречался редко в городах.

@@user-pq4xv1gc7d Может быть они из плимфы сложены или обложены в 60е 70е годы.!4 лет работаю монтажником и не в одной деревни не выидел стен из кирпича.Один раз попался дом выложеный из Царского кирпича и то мне эту стены не дали трогать.Да и по моему городу много заброшеных бараков 20х-30х годов и все они из камня.Даже Сталинки из камня или шлако наливные(а они 2х-3х этажные),и только каждая 100-11 Сталинка сделана из Кирпича.Так мой город в 30е годы был рай центром края Донского.

Very nice diorama. What is the kind of foam you use for the building? I can't seem to find the right materials in my local hobby stores.

I did'n know that photo etching parts can be attached with Tamiya cement!
with larger flat pieces of PE you can melt the plastic under the photoetch and bond them together......it depends on the type of styrene tho as with some it doesn't work as well👍
The modelling is excellent, but your roofs are over the top.

I wonder if you could share the materials used for the roofing is it specifically a modelling material if so can you share a link or tell me where you got it from. its an amazing diorama and I am doing a Russian hut myself and would like to use the same materials on its roof.

Das Türblatt ist falsch dargestellt. Das Z ist dann in dem Fall innen und geht von oben nach unten durch. Das Türblatt ist außen glatt.
You are correct in what you say but there are numerous examples of rural buildings where a door has been re-used from somewhere else and hung the wrong way round

Thanks for watching👍...... the metal tool is some sort of wax carving tool that I got from ebay........I can't find the exact listing for that one as I've had it a while but a few of these are similar 👍

@@johngrainger9098 All my buildings are XPS but bases vary from XPS to EPS and also Polystyrene....for bases I think any type of foam will do if you want a lightweight material but for carving bricks or stones on to walls etc XPS is the way to go 👍
How do you thin revell aqua for airbrush? Do you have an thinning ratio?
I use Revell's Aqua Color thinner.....I don't really have a ratio but its works best by adding the paint to the thinner until is sprays how you want it to👍
