Pencott is such a good camouflage, has concealed me much better than other camouflages I've used in the past. Down side is that it's pricey and not widely available, you can buy the same brand items in more 'popular camos' cheaper. Though it isn't as effective in dark areas, fantastic in heavy vegetation and grassy areas. I would recommend highy
The most amazing part is that your location is far from optimal for this pattern, but still it worked excellent. In Finnish forest, especially during autumn and spring, it performs absolutely awesome. During summer it's kinda in between good and somewhat good, because of the much greener and darker foliage in Finland during summer but it still manages to beat Anything we have here, because at a distance, you believe that it's some moss part of a rock. If DPM works for you, then Greenzone will work for you because they both uses the exact same colors, although DPM performs better at hiding your silhouette at a distance.

The PenCott GreenZone pattern is so good I gave up finding Waldo. As with the CadPatt, what really made that pattern so effective in my mind are the various shades of green which includes the brightest of green color to reflect the sun light through leaves. At one point, even if Bruce was kneeling albeit, in the shadows, the green scattering created an illusion of actual vegetation present (6:26-7:07). However in addition to that, had an equal amount of dark brown which actually aids in bringing the green in the pattern as well as creating an illusion of a shadow foreground. The pattern overall is so effective that one has to be within a few yards to glimpse the wearer. Thank you Brent and Bruce for this excellent demonstration!
Exactly. Pencott and CADPAT are some of the few military patterns that understand adding depth to their patterns; foreground, middle, and background. They add multiple shades and hues and achieve both breakup and slight mimicry. The pattern worked well in this type of environment. It reminded me of the woods I spent most of my youth running around in. Wooded areas near water and wetlands have a special kind of green hue to them. A vegetato pattern would be interesting to see too. Another solid effort !
Wow, I thought CADPAT was slick, but this pattern is neck and neck with it. If I was to go with a “mimic” camo it would probably be Mossy Oak woodland Obsession or a pattern from A-Tacs. I’m glad to see true greens in camo patterns. Do you know what’s olive green up in here in the Great Lakes Woodlands?, the olives in my martini glass. And that’s about it. Another good one Brent & Bruce. Thanks.
@@Brent0331 Just bought some for paintball, i had rain gear from UF Pro Small Pac Monsoon, but man the pattern is so ugly. Its like a yellow MARPAT. It better work as good as it does on video. Greenzone was a pattern I've wanted to see tested for a while, and I'm happy it's here! Definitely one of the most effective patterns you've tested! I know it's a bit pricey but a test on Russian SURPAT would be cool!
It is hands down the best camoflauge to use in England really matches the fields colour and the colour of the woodland ground and trees its pretty much perfect
Excellent brent and thanks to Bruce for bringing the PenCott Cammo. I think this is the real competition cammo for the Multicam Tropic. I think it was made for the european woods but it still works for any green and woodland territory and areas. on the other hand the Multicam Tropic it is very well desing for jungle enviorment.
Thanks for the input, I agree this pattern is very effective here during this time of the year. I have yet to see MultiCam tropic yet, I'm hoping that their prices come done so that I can pick some up in the near future.
Incredibly effective stuff! As always, thank you for sending out your reviews, especially of varying focal depth and natural cover surrounding the subject, too.
It even works on snow free or partly snowy winters . HydeDefinition did an excellent job on this camo pattern. I use ist for wildlife photography an not even birds can see you although they see colors really good.
It's always subjective but imo this pattern is the best period. The PenCott design is interesting and come for a variety of regions world wide. Yes, lol I'm a hunter and fan.
I wish the Corps had this PenCott instead of MARPAT. Much more effective. When you become Sgt Major of the Marine Corps, you should make this official.
Hi Brent, Pencott Badlands pant and Greenzone shirt/top will go towards breaking up the human silhouette more (though highly vegetated jungles you could argue against it) which will work well in slightly less vegetated areas. For areas that are more arid but still have forms of vegetation, Arid pant and Badlands shirt. I have not found any videos of such combinations however have tested and they work extremely well if the right patterns are chosen. Good work by the way, excellent videos on the camo's.
Although I have not done a video solely focused on a mixed matched pattern, you can watch some of my OPFOR series videos and in there I do have mixed matched camouflage patterns in the video.
I just watched you on german tv :D Not a fan of the show but it was very cool seeing you there. Thanks for this vid, since Tasmanian Tiger is using PenCott I hoped to find a vid like this. Keep up the good work Marine! Greetings from germany!
BRENT O331! ohh yeah!, thats like a special opps name!, 😅 I love this channel!, thank you for your content. right off the bat I knew this would be a great camouflage because I thought you were talking to yourself, i didnt even see the guy next to you in the video wearing the outfit!
Good stuff! It is the right shade of green, and the pattern is large enough to break up the silhouette. Kinda reminds me of the old German 'eichentarn' or oakleaf patterns...
Brilliant, those lighter yellowish hues work a treat. This is clearly effective, esp in the opening credits. Good work bro !! Thanks again for the great work, there is simply no other resource anyway that comes close to your vids on this subject. Got an interesting, albeit uncomfortable request for ya - I was lucky enough to have a small involvement in the Australian Army new camo trials before we transitioned to Auscam. I was a scout rifleman in the reserves at the time, and got to have a go at playing hide and seek around the LWC Canungra, which is very steep terrain with a mix of light greens like this (from Lantana bush), and a lot of darker primary rainforest as a backdrop. We were comparing standard "Jungle Greens" (which is similar to your ODs), with a few new patterns, US woodland, Auscam, and an experimental pattern with black splotches on a green base. There was also the standard OPFOR suit, as used by 10 IRC, which was standard greens that are washed with a red dye. This was supposed to make them "easier to spot", but the dye would fade soon enough, mold and mildew would take hold, and turn the whole suit into a sort of olive brown over green mess, which was super effective. All our uniforms in that environment were constantly rotting and stank of decay ... which blended in perfectly with the smells of the forest. You could smell some idiot using soap, eating curry, or having a cigarette long before you could see them. Anyway - back to the story of the trails. At least in this terrain, the accidental winner of the trail, by quite a margin ... was standard Greens worn by soldiers who had had the pleasure of having to wade through streams, or otherwise get themselves wet from head to toe. This turned the green cotton into a darker mess that exactly matched the color and texture of the big shiny palm leaves. As it dried, at random, it produced an unpredictable pattern that differed from one guy to the next. Suggestion then - Pick something cheap and basic (like ODs), and see how it goes when you treat it rough. Dont walk over the riverbed, slither through it like a soldier, and see how good old fashioned "wet and filthy" compares to multi-million dollar research. .... I think you already know the answer to how that might work anyway :) Since its such a painful request, I propose a sort of GoFundMe to the sucker that has to roll around and get wet.. I will put up a 6 pack of the best Aust Beer to get the ball rolling. Anyone want to add to that ?
ha, funny stuff. I did do an OD pattern video. It was one of my originals. With all these patterns you can see I and Bruce start to get covered in mud, it definitely aids in concealment for sure.
Thanks for this one Brent👍. Dom Hyde has made this camo to be effective at long, medium and macro distances. its also available in other colors such as desert and snow. Great vid guys, TY👍
Finally someone with a shared love of concealment! It would be cool to do similar tests under night vision, Pencotts supposed to be great, I've tested US woodland and multicam which aren't good and Brittish Dpm, vegetato and ACU which do pretty well.
Love All The videos.....its like all i watch. i want to make a few of my own soon. been customizing my own gear just have to get somewhere i can test it out...mix of the good camos and sewing my own stuff on them... i think its going to work pretty Good just have to make the videos so i can know where i need to adjust...Anyways Hope you make more......... 11B USArmy when i was 17 to 20.... now im about to be 26...wish i never got out.....
Pencott is really effective as a pattern. Both Badlands and greenzone are effective in a woodland environment. I got fabric from MMI textiles, uniforms from seal action gear from Canada, it's not that expensive at all. If anyone is looking for some uniform items...also I believe Hyde definition still has uniforms listed on their website and also has a listing of local US distributors of the pattern. Semper
I live in Utah and the Badlands coloration works wonders in the badlands and desert. I use Russian pogranichnik camo for badlands or fields and it also works wonderfully.
@@Brent0331 Sorry man!!... just saw it... funny story by the way about the Polish soldier haha. My parents are from Poland, but I'm first born person here in the US in my entire family. Been there a few times throughout my life appreciate your video you did about the Baltic training exercise that was cool. Have you ever worked with Polish GROM or Polish special operators while in Iraq? They're Poland's best. I know you were a machine gunner but just curious.
I saw in Ghost Recon Brokepoint, they added PenCott LN, SS and MP camo patterns I didn't even know anything about them but LN worked great mixed with Multicam Tropical or MARPAT for a thick forest or tropical enviroment. Sucks they are still expensive to find right now. I'd buy some ha ha. Guess I'll green dye some Realtree XP camo for now.

As with the CadPatt, what really made that pattern so effective in my mind are the various shades of green which includes the brightest of green color to reflect the sun light through leaves.
Dont walk over the riverbed, slither through it like a soldier, and see how good old fashioned "wet and filthy" compares to multi-million dollar research. .... I think you already know the answer to how that might work anyway :)
Since its such a painful request, I propose a sort of GoFundMe to the sucker that has to roll around and get wet..
That pattern's effectiveness is pretty amazing 😮
You actually captured the effectiveness of this camo within 1:30..if the demonstrator wasnt moving I never would have seen him!..
Most effective pattern you've showcased yet. Wish more local companies made clothing and gear in the pencott patterns though.
I concur, sound like they are slowly but surely making their way across the pond to bring us their gear.
Wow. This is the future. Much more complex, much more effective.
I LIKE HIS CAMO VIDEOS THEY ARE AWESOME THE BEST VIDEOS I EVER SEEN
Ah, thank you for this video and thank you, Bruce!
Thanks for watching.
Glad I could help bring this pattern to you guys!
That does it. I must invest in this pattern. I think that will work quite well here in south eastern Oklahoma.
Holy ... this camo ..., i haven't been able to spot his location once O.O
Well, I am impressed! So much so, that I just had to order a couple pair of these cammies! See what you did Brent? lol!
love my pencott badlands head to toe. was looking for a good review of their green zone. thanks bro.
Thanks for this one Brent👍. Dom Hyde has made this camo to be effective at long, medium and macro distances. its also available in other colors such as desert and snow. Great vid guys, TY👍
Thanks for watching.
Finally someone with a shared love of concealment! It would be cool to do similar tests under night vision, Pencotts supposed to be great, I've tested US woodland and multicam which aren't good and Brittish Dpm, vegetato and ACU which do pretty well.
holy crap I didn’t I even notice him sitting just in the right! what a nice camo
In summer/green forest regions....PenCott Greenzone is the absolute best camo I have ever seen. It goddamned near makes you invisible.
Appreciate the support brother.
Also works pretty well in deep jungle-like environments too here in Hawaii.
My vote for the near future camo test is on the russian surpat.
Great for stealth camping.
Yuuuh! I was looking forward to this one!!
This is the best camo ever, and it works almost everywhere here in good old germany!!!
Thanks for the video Brent. I hope you will have some winter camos on review as well... like Pencott Snowdrift
DEFINITELY need this camo, couldn't even come close to spotting him.
wooop time for another game of Tactical Where's Waldo, thanks Brent, love these
Thanks for watching
Pencott is really effective as a pattern. Both Badlands and greenzone are effective in a woodland environment. I got fabric from MMI textiles, uniforms from seal action gear from Canada, it's not that expensive at all. If anyone is looking for some uniform items...also I believe Hyde definition still has uniforms listed on their website and also has a listing of local US distributors of the pattern.
Semper
Awesome Brent I've been waiting for this video a long time! You should try to do multicam Tropic next!
very good at breaking up the silhouette.
Great camo pattern, very effective in that environment!
My favorite pattern, AWESOME!
was going to go with a-tacs fg, but this is a camo where i really can't see the guy!
ufpro.si/
Great vid guys!
Thanks brother.
Would be interesting to see you guys open fire on some targets while blended in instead of just moving. Just a suggestion. Cool video though!
I live in Utah and the Badlands coloration works wonders in the badlands and desert. I use Russian pogranichnik camo for badlands or fields and it also works wonderfully.
The pencott greenzone is very effective but that guys has very good skills
This video made me go out and buy some Pencott Greenzone
Can you try out Polish woodland camo
Already done.
I know you were a machine gunner but just curious.
oml, i was typing my other comment and scrolled up and it took me a second to see Bruce
Do this again but 1080 or 4k please, its amazing!
I didn’t even see his friend sitting next to him in the beginning until he pointed to him 😂😂
Even when you showed yourself you were still well camouflaged.
I still feel like this is one of the better patterns on the market today. Even with all the new stuff coming out now from Concamo and Phantomleaf.
finally! thanks Gunny
No problem, enjoy! Thank Bruce for making this possible.
Guess I'll green dye some Realtree XP camo for now.
holy s*** I didn't even see Bruce either for a second I'm going to have to get me some of that camo
I'll have to research and see if they have a winter set or a more brownish set for fall
This needs a 4k redo for such a great camo
Excellent Pattern.
Ok, time to start saving for this beauty from UF PRO. This cammo is the best one for Europe I have seen so far.
