- In such a saturated market, it's hard to know which portable bluetooth speaker is the best. Fugoo is a new company, but they're doing things great already. They are making a speaker that sounds better than its competition such as the Logitech UE Boom, Bose SoundLink Mini and SOL Republic Deck. Not to mention that this thing is nearly indestructible! I hard to love this speaker more than I already do.

Finally your reviews are back up to par. I was a little disappointed in previous videos but I figured you just needed time to get back into the swing of things. Well done man. I'm glad to see this high quality content again.
This is a very well done video. I am left with nothing to be desired and I want to go out and buy one now, not because you said it was awesome but because you we able to show the audience the product. Just got my Audio Technica M50x's today and that mic recording sounds brilliant.

The Fugoo tough speaker, you say it has brilliant sound quality, does it retain this at high volume and how loud is it? Will it fill a good area outdoors?

I have this speaker and then Creative Sound Blaster Roar 2 and I have to say that the sound quality of this speaker gets absolutely trumped by the Roar 2. Although the speakers are very different in terms of features, as the Roar 2 is meant to be more of a stay at home speaker which would most definitely break from falling or water damage, and the Fugoo is an all around tough throw around speaker which can withstand pretty much anything. Also the battery life on the Fugoo is about 40 hours compared to the 8 hours from the Roar 2. So they both have their good sides
Omg thanks for this review!!!!!!!! I'm totally getting this for my dad for Father's Day. He's a handyman and has a crusty and old makita speaker that has to have the phone mounted to work and I think the port is for iPhone 4s lol. This is perfect for him! I didn't know they even made heavy duty Bluetooth speakers. He is so not careful with his stuff if it weren't for his life proof case his phone would be dead. Thanks so much I'm so excited for this!
a more economical option to the Tough-jacket is wrap the Style with bubble-wrap and poke enough holes for the sound to get through. It also makes the speaker look like litter which would deter any thieves whenever you have to leave it on the park bench to go to the washroom.

Nice review....to tell you honestly I am about to buy Bose Soundlink Mini then I saw your review on this amazing bluetooth speaker. If I were to choose between the two speakers, which would it be? What are the pros in this speaker that wins against Bose Soundlink Mini when it comes to sound quality? By the way I am from the Philippines and just wondering when will this speaker be available in South East Asia? Thanks.

You should try the Life Jacket Bluetooth Speaker, Altec Lansing tested it by shooting it, blew it up with thermite, and again with c4, and it played after each test perfectly well. it is also cheaper, coming in at $199.

2009 mkv GTi with the Tsi very wise choice.
This one sounds very good to me, but my only concern is bass. From what i understand the bass isn't too amazing. I recently tried out a Cambridge Audio Minx Go V2 and Harman Kardon Omni 20. The former had great highs but rather disappointing lows. This one is fully wireless though. The Omni had both nice highs and a surprisingly powerfull bass. But not fully wireless, you do need to plug it in the wall so to speak. How would the Fugoo compare to the Omni 20 in terms of bass?

i would like to see some frequency response curves of this vs the bose soundlink mini. i have to ability to get a frequency response curve with my calibrated mic and software, but i only have to bose.

My item of concern, which i feel wasn't addressed in the review, was,,where do the speakers shoot out sound from? Front only? or front, back sides, underside?? I only ask, because i'm looking for a Bluetooth to stick against the window-shield of my car, and obviously sound won't be great. if its shooting sound from the back and the sound would get muffled, if its pushed up against the inside of the dashboard window.

I just bought my second Fugoo XL because after 4 years of heavy use (it never leaves my bike 30K+ miles) the 1st one was down to about 6 hours of playtime per charge. The new one out of the box, and fully charged was run for about 4 hours and when checked was at "about 1/2 full". The claims of 30 hours of playtime are fantasy. I like the durability, I like the volume, I like most everything except the company outright lying about how long it will play. I also don't like that you have to buy some cheap POS charger as a replacement should the provided charger fail. Apparently, they don't feel the need to support the products. Everyone stay safe. - @t
Hi Quinn, how would you recommend this speaker for use on say, a beach? Sand as a tech destroyer is the only thing that could possibly be a drawback for this speaker?

MrLele3000 The XL version will be noticeably bigger and therefore louder. I'm still very happy with the "standard" version. The sound is just impressive, quite deep for a speaker this big, and their "dynamic" EQ is just fantastic. It balances the sound between basses and trebles very well, making it sound deep and clear at the same time, and also adjusts the volume so every music you throw at it will sound equally loud to you.
I admit, it is not very very loud, but they pushed some software updates which improved this (little) lack of power, also introducing a "outdoor" mode which can turn the volume up to 50% more loudness.
It's a very nice speaker, which is near-perfectly tuned, and it outperforms any competitor in terms of sound balance. Not too much bass, nor too much trebles. To sum up : it sounds almost perfect. Go for it, you will not be disappointed at all.

how long to the battery last on volume at 100% i have one not this brand a sony i have i use for work hour a nd half to 2 hours die's the dang thing said last 15 hours on 1 chrage but when i have a 50% play music last 2 days
