He has a silly sense of humour, he's so funny/hilarious, the rapour with his fans was legendary, This is another UNDERRATED TRACK, ABOUSELTY GORGEOUS, WE MISS U EP, ❤❤
Elvis’s magnetic stage presence, smooth voice, and confident personality captivate audiences. His ability to connect emotionally through music and performance creates a personal and memorable experience
No matter how many times I hear him sing the songs that I've heard a thousand x's before, each time it's like the 1st time & it never gets stale. Thanks very much.
He tells a story in his voice. So beautiful to comprehend a truth about separation that others may not be able to convey. Thanks for this song. No one like Elvis. 🎸🎶🎸
I still remember the first time I heard the album "That's The Way It Is." It just blew me away and I had been an Elvis fan for years by that time. His voice is simply amazing. One reason I think he didn't get the credit he deserved is because it all looked so effortless. The vocal range, the emotion, the conducting, the movements. All seemed too good. Just for your info, there's a video out there that combines the rehearsal for Twenty Days and Twenty Nights with this live footage, its debut. Even if you don't publicly react to it, you really should watch the rehearsal. I love those.
Oh to have been at one of these concerts! As others have said here, it's interesting to watch the prior rehearsal of this song as well. Absolute master of his craft ❤
He could crack you up and make you cry. He did a lot of executive producing you should see the studio rehearsal of the same song. He did some rehearsals at his home in Graceland. See "Elvis in the Studio" 1970. Great stuff. Thanks
"hang on baby" - there's a great rehearsal video of this. It show the backup singers alone and Elvis being silly with his band! Great song and reaction!
Really enjoy your Elvis reaction videos Elvis’s performance of a song flows through him and in turn through everyone else on stage🎙🎼🎵🎶🎶🎵This produces something amazing, beautiful and timeless. So much so that even to this day young and old alike are still enjoying Elvis’s music and he is still loved❤so very much all over the world. Thanks again for your reaction videos Mike😊
Great reaction Mike - I'm really enjoying these Elviis reactions and can't wait for the next one. This is the only live rendition of the song that To me this is the song which defines the Elvis Presley of 1970. It was the first song he recorded in Nashville on 4 June 1970, and it is a well crafted piece of adult contemporary pop with an interesting and rather difficult melodic line, and a story that Elvis tells with commitment in the studio master in particular and the lyrics show how Elvis had matured both as an artist and entertainer. The Elvis of the 50's or 60's pre-American Sound Studios could not, I believe, have carried this material off at least with such sound credibility. A real favourite of mine especially the studio master. If you would like to see the rehearsal to the stage progression : th-cam.com/video/oOavYe-oFws/w-d-xo.html or the studio master : th-cam.com/video/cM00qVgllr0/w-d-xo.html Keep up the good work pal
I absolutely love that you mentioned him using his body as an instrument. This was something that Elvis did everything he sang..some time were more subtle... just little things. Not many tune into that. I love this song. Elvis recorded a record at MGM in California and sent it to Vegas for his backing vocalists to rehearse with. It is fascinating to see. When everything comes together in this performance it is magic. 5hank you for another amazing reaction.
You have become my favorite Elvis reactor. Always so insightful, and you seem to “get” Elvis even though it’s been a short ride for you so far. I really hope you stick around for a long time and don’t disappear on us.
Como dicen por ahí Elvis podría haber cantado incluso solo leído la guía telefónica y sería oro puro su voz es tan emocional su vibrato hermoso y rápido su acento su modulación es maravilloso 😏👑🫶
I was at one of the International Hotel Performance August 1970, whether it was that particular evening, who know’s? He compares himself to Captain Marvel, his favorite comic book character, when he was young and throughout his life. Yes, he makes it sound, look and be so easy……❤
Thank you, for reacting to this beautiful song, one of my many favourites, with christmas approaching,I would it if you reacted to IF EVERYDAY COULD BE CHRISTMAS,it's a beautiful christmas song,Elvis' vocals are amazing.❤❤
He turns to the girl with the high voice,Millie Kirkham at the end.Millie work with Elvis on and off from her 1st Elvis recording in 57 BLUE CHRISTMAS up till 71. MGM filmed 6 show's and Elvis wanted Millie for her lovely high vocals. After Kathy Westmoreland joined and stayed till his last show in 1977. KEV
Love this song Mike. There is also a rehearsal of twenty days and twenty nights which shows Elvis with the band and having fun. Also love watching your reactions.❤❤
The soundscape you talk about, was the convergence of all the American musical styles/ genres that influenced him and he wanted to incorporate in his music. He specifically designed it to have that spectrum. So you have Black gospel, white gospel, country & R& B driven rhythm band, operatic orchestra. Elvis was always about mixing genres and styles from day one. That is perhaps why he is THE American musician.
This was another great performance and loved his sense of humor. When he was a child he wanted to be a super hero...he would read the comic books and dream about being the hero. Because his heart was so big and he wanted to help make others happy by helping them ..he was a super hero to many people. I am so glad you are here with us as you experience the "Wonder Of Elvis" ...we are enjoying this musical journey too. Thank you for making each reaction very special whether someone is a long time fan or new fan...doesn't matter...we all benefit from being here sharing these moments together.🌻
A rather unknown song for the majority. A personal favorite from that album, along with How the Web was Woven (which is one of his greatest prefromances ever).
The rehearsal of this song is great as well. Elvis totally commanded the stage as if he was in the centre of his own world. A lot of the live songs from this era are once offs or were only sang for a season. His later set lists became far more settled with only the odd one off sang.
There is great rehearsal footage of this song on YT. It's from his documentary THATS THE WAY IT IS. "I Just Can't Help Believing" is another beautiful song. Thank you so much!💚☀️
If you like loosely rehearsed performances, then check out "One Night With You" from That's The Way It Is. He is literally taking a drink and starts singing "Da da da da da da da da da da" and the band jumps in and off they go. Completely unrehearsed or planned and they kill it.
There is a good rehearsal version of this, recorded as part of That's the Way it is but I believe it's from the unseen, Lost Performances. Millie Kirkham's Soprano is awesome....especially that note at the end ❤
Watch the film Elvis, That's The Way It Is that these 1970 performances are from. Also has footage of the rehearsals, him arranging the songs and joking around with his band. You'll love it!
You don't talk over them. You stop to talk about the songs. Great comments. Thanks. Having been a fan forever, I find it hard to understand people not knowing his songs. Occasionally, I do hear songs I had never heard before, though.
You summed him up, BEAUTIFULLY!. His ability to make it look like this cool guy just took a chance and made it huge and coasted along on his looks. Elvis always had a plan. It was pretty calculated. He knew where he was going. He never had a doubt. Just took a few minutes to maneuver the route. He could change directions at the drop of a hat. Super adaptable. You mentioned James’ guitar. James said he was terrified to show it to Elvis because you didn’t alter the final stage show “product” without his express approval. It was an attention getter. But Elvis loved it and told him “haul that mother on the stage”.
I LOVE this song. I can do without the studio recording, but his live performances of this song (there are only two) are exceptional. There is a video that combines the rehearsal version and shows them working on the arrangement into the stage act. It's fascinating. th-cam.com/video/xku_uGQ6WBQ/w-d-xo.html. The GOAT.
I've been listening to Elvis almost every day for almost 50 years and his performances still blow me away. You made me think when contemplating hearing him for the first time all over again. Wow.
Elvis has the great ability to take these ballads and sing them so convincingly that you think the song is autobiographical.
That is so true!
He has a silly sense of humour, he's so funny/hilarious, the rapour with his fans was legendary, This is another UNDERRATED TRACK, ABOUSELTY GORGEOUS, WE MISS U EP, ❤❤
ELVIS👑
Elvis had it all!
Elvis’s magnetic stage presence, smooth voice, and confident personality captivate audiences. His ability to connect emotionally through music and performance creates a personal and memorable experience
He is also a super magnificent man. The first one and the last great performance, man. He is also a very kind man with respect and giving spirit. ❤
No matter how many times I hear him sing the songs that I've heard a thousand x's before, each time it's like the 1st time & it never gets stale. Thanks very much.
Exactly, a really good point.
Not one song that comes up is ever stale as you said..
What an incredible performer and human being.
SO TRUE💙
