I mean it's not impossible if he's the one in movement. The cape is merely standing in place and being pulled by the captain because of inertia, right?
I just realized: that bit where Tadashi fires his gun and burns down the flag, they did the same thing in One Piece, in the Ennis Lobby arc, just before the Straw Hats stormed the Hall of Justice to rescue Robin.
Yeah neat reference, really powerful scene in One Piece as well, Oda's references to old anime are always fun, sure if you think about it the first four straw hats are analogous to the cast of lupin the third.
Even so why Arcadia has no rear turret? Or was it a standard design practices of the Federation Warships of the 30th Century? And how does it warps or does Arcadia FTL travel linear ones on the same dimension as regular travelling mode?
Since Space Battleship Yamato and Harlock are in the same universe and I also think I've seen it in the manga but it uses Wave Motion Engines or at least one that highly resembles a Wave Motion Engine. Even 8 centuries later they didn't manage to do better it seems. Definitly my favorite ever sci fi universe along with Doctor Who
Captain Harlock is so badass he can make his cape wave in space
Damn right

"If you are a true man..." who would resist such a challenge?? Daiba tadashi great choice!!!💪❤👍
i watched this anime when I was seven at the 80s. This is one of the most memorsble escenes in anime history
This was my very first Anime. Since it's from my childhood it'll always have a place in my heart. 😊

Tadashi burned Earth's flag as a way to declare war on the planet itself for not getting help to avenge his father.
The Straw Hat Pirates and the Revolutionary Army made their own declarations of war towards the World Government.

I wonder if there is a background music somewhere posted where Harlock challenges Tadashi
アルカディア号乗りたい!
僕もです🎵✨😸
I wonder if Oda used this as inspiration for Ernie’s lobby?
More like how Luffy views pirates in general and what the state of that world is as well.
