Hi Simon we love staying at Whitehall Landing it's lovely views and you are correct Ashby de la Zouch is in Leicestershire it's our home city. All the best Paul & Elaine in Bridlington 😊
Hi I was in the Lake District few years ago. Speaking to one of the lake wardens about boats moored on the lake that looked in a very dilapidated condition. He told me that as long as the mooring fees are paid upto date they just keep an eye on it, He also said sometimes the owners have died but the bank accounts are still active so as long moorings are paid upto date there is no reason to move the boat. And obviously they haven't been told either.
Many years ago we used to go out in “Toiler” it was same design as “Castle Rock” but bigger Could get 12 on easily but only licensed for 8 It was made up there “ESK Boat Builders” It was a great craft and we had some wonderful days fishing Some times we’d do weekend and stop in George near station and store Saturdays catch in his cold store int’ cellar When we got home Sundays it was always a long job cutting washing and freezing fish All the OAP’s on our street had fresh fish to eat on Mondays It’s good memories going back 40-45 years I’m told there’s not so much fish around these days ? I think the old big red fishing boat you showed us used to go out for 2-3 days if my memory serves me right ?
They have been there since I was a youth. As long as it floats and harbour dues go in, they won't care. The half built catamaran has gone. If you wanted to buy them off them, they would quote you thousands 😂
Sir Simon bonjour Mateloe. What's the nautical equivalent of being clamped 🤔 Because some of the fleet, may not pass the safety at sea testing 🌊🛥️🛥️⚓🛟. Still one or two could be called sea worthy. However, my wobbly legs are self inflicted ( liquid lunch 🙄😏😊🍺🍻🍾🥂) and not down to Davy Jones or Poseidon. I get queasy in a shower. 🚿🤢🛀. Tally ho🐎🐕🦊Allan&Family
