I would guess because progressive far left postmodern cult like "thinking" is took over the west, thus there is a huge market for gaming sites pandering to this modern audience.
What I ask is why are these media organisations setting fire to their credibility? It can't be for access to some third rate video games that are going to get roasted by the gaming community. You are going to lose your audience. It looks like the media and the studios are all working for the same entity and it's not the gamers
@RealityCheck6969 from your point of view they hired the wrong people, but from their point of view and for what they want to achieve they hired the right people.
They're part of the automated advertising system that the internet's become this last decade or so. Basically, organic bots. They may as well be replaced by AI.. at least AI might not use "return to form" so freaking often in reviews :P
The toxic positivity is on steam too. All the positive reviews are from people that played the game for less than 3 hours or from people who admit that the writing and dialogue is terrible but the gameplay is fine. Bad writing, OK gameplay = positive review? I feel like Im taking crazy pills. Whatever happens it seems the gaming industry and its modern audience have played their cards. Shit like this is here to stay. Support Indie developers and Im focusing more on the Asian market too. Western gaming is a shit show.
To be fair Baldur's Gate 3 is pretty "woke" but did very well. I think they just hamfist things down our throat and don't even try to make a good quality game. Bg3 had plenty of "woke" characteristics, but the game was made with actual care and intent to deliver a good product. Major corps just care about revenue and not quality.
@@yipps_ I wouldn't call it too woke (other than a gay gnome I ran into in the underdark that felt a bit like a placement).. it gives you PLENTY of freedom though. Some woke c*nt could play it like a fool. That's the freedom of D&D and by extension BG3 because it did D&D pretty well.
The thing about Steam is that only someone who bought the game on Steam can leave a review. And if you bought it, you probably already knew what you were buying. So Steam reviews are always tend to be more positive than other sources.
Meh, I think this take is bullshit. They reviewed BG3 highly and it was a fantastic fucking game. Most of the gaming outlets are ranking this around a low to mid 80s with the combat being the main reason for the rating. It seems like it’s going to be a decent game but maybe not a huge blowout success like people and BioWare were hoping for. Kinda like dragon age 2 was, decent game in some ways with its combat but kinda meh in other regards.
Seems to me like many people can’t accept the fact that this is an objectively good game that’s fun for people. They’re too caught up in the politics and just want to hate for the sake of it
You have to put more thought into things like this. This isn't a talk to friends at a bar. Your take here is a lot more subjective than anything the pros ever publish. Consequently it's also more tainted by your "world views". Actually, this video reminded me of a chubby friend of mine who had such little introspection that he called everybody else fat.
I really wonder how these game magazines still make any money at all. Even hate clicks can’t generate enough revenue

@@Atmux thanks
I love how you talk mad shit with a completely straight face lmao (I agree with you 100% by the way)
This game truly seems like a return to form for Bioware… an ugly form 😜
Company after company will learn the woke lesson the hard way.

79% on Steam. Not that bad, right? :)

The difference is the audience score was also high with BG3. If the audience score and the press scores differ, then the audience is correct
Hey. Here is an idea: how about you play the game and come up with your own opinion instead of letting others do it for you?
In the process of that.
