Because the recirculating design requires only a single- or double-start screw thread, it can be manufactured with very fine leads, even for large screw diameters. Fractional-millimeter leads, such as 0.25 mm, are even possible. And smaller leads mean lower required input torque. This makes recirculating roller screws ideal for applications that require micron-level positioning with high stiffness and rigidity, such as grinding equipment and lens focusing.
