Hi. Noob question because it's been years since I've played SF, why is it showing one character's name, but playing a different character entirely? Like when It said M. Bison, but it was actually Balrog playing? I've seen it happening in quite a few tournament vids on SF.
Because they are playing on the Japanese version of ST where the names are the original ones.
Other versions switched up the names for legal reasons and the competitive community sticks with names like Claw, Dictator, and Boxer.
Yeah, M.Bison is Mike Bison, a nod to Mike Tyson, names get switched up in the states for legal reasons as comment above me says.

Don't think there is any debate about who's the higher tier character out of Chun Li and Balrog.
Chun can literally have her Super buffed for the entire round and then release it in a split second giving her opponent no time to react to it.
Balrog's one has more start up and is more predictable and avoidable for the fact his pressure game and mix up to set it up isn't as strong as Chun's.
