This is the most honest review of Chilika Dhaba. Food used to be good there, probably a couple of decades ago. Since last several years, their food quality has deteriorated drastically. You could easily spot the foul smell in everything you order. The seafood, by itself, is probably fired and frozen for weeks, it tasted like plastic. The curries tasted stale and greasy. One of the worst food joints.
ମୁଁ 2016 ରେ ଯାଇଥିଲି ଯେତେବେଳେ ଚିଲିକା ଢ଼ାବା ନୂଆ ନୂଆ famous ହଉଥିଲା ଖାଇବା ମଗେଇ ମୁଁ ଖାଈନଥିଲି bcoz of ସେମାନଙ୍କ behavior & service 😭👍

ଭାଇ ମୁଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ସେ ଅଞ୍ଚଳ ର । ଆପଣ ନିରାଟ ସତ କଥା କହିଛନ୍ତି। ବ୍ୟବହାର ସେମାନେ ଜାଣି ନାହାନ୍ତି।
ମୁଁ ଦୁଃଖିତ କି ଆପଣଙ୍କ ସହ ସେମାନେ ଏଭଳି ବ୍ୟବହାର କରିଛନ୍ତି।
ଚିଲିକା ଢ଼ାବା ମଧ୍ୟ ନଛୋଡ଼ବନ୍ଧା। ତାଙ୍କର ପଇସା ରେ ମତଲବ। ତା ମାନେ ନୁହଁ ଯେ ଗ୍ରାହକ ଙ୍କୁ ମନ ଇଚ୍ଛା ବ୍ୟବହାର କରିବ।
କିଶୋର ଭାଇନା ଙ୍କ ମଟନ ସାମ୍ରାଜ୍ୟ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏଠି ଭାଙ୍ଗି ଯାଇଛି। ତେଣୁ ଚିଲିକା ଢ଼ାବା ଏବେ ଠୁ ସାବଧାନ ହେଇଯାଅ। ନହେଲେ କଙ୍କଡ଼ା ଖୋଳ ମଧ୍ୟ କେହି ତୁମଠୁ ମାଗଣା ରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ନେବେ ନାହିଁ।

First of all thanks for making and honest vlog. Much appreciated on clearing the hype of this restaurant. I was planning a trip to this place, now fully cancelled.
The restaurant seems to be surviving on the hype created by word of mouth false appreciations which would eventually be reason behind its fall from customer reviews.
The other serious part is staff asking for tip. Why?? For what? For creating unhappy customers??
Hope no other food vlogger creates false hype videos from this restaurant in exchange of free food!!!

This is absolutely correct feedback. I have simillar experience a year ago with family. We were 10 members and food quality is worst than anyone's imagination. Not sure why people say Chilika dhaba is a must try. It was 3pm where we got seat in some place where they arranged plastic chair with long table which used by tent house for marriage party in villages. Worst part is my son ( 12yrs) vomitted with raw smell. Chinguri and kankada were just coloured and dipped in gravy. Absolutely no cook . Very very raw smell . I am wondering chef have cooking skills or they pick the waiters to manage the cooking. I was in impression till seeing this was may be one bad day, may be huge rush, may be we were late for lunch. But now I can correlate that it's the same exp what u have. Owners of chilika dhaba, you have a reputation. Please maintain that. Take profesional help if need to manage the crowd.

I agree with Shubham. There is unnecessary hype created around such Dhabas which serve average food only. The cost of non veg dishes also not reasonable when such raw materials are sourced locally.

I had the same experience..I was living away from Odisha for more than 10 years. I got married to a marathi girl and we were visiting our village for the first time. I had told my wife about this dhaba which actually served good food in 2013. When we ordered food it was pathetic. I felt so ashamed infront of her and chilika dhaba ruined her first time odisha food experience

ଆମେ ୩ ଜଣ ଏପ୍ରିଲ ୨୦୨୨ରେ ଯାଇଥିଲୁ ଚିଲିକା ଢାବା । ଆପଣ ଯାହା କହିଲେ ବିଲକୁଲ ସତ। ଷ୍ଟାଫ ମାନଙ୍କ behaviour ବହୁତ ଖରାପ। ସେମାନେ first ଯୁକ୍ତି କରିବେ ତାପରେ same ସେହି ଲୋକ ଆସିକି ଟିପ ମଗିବେ । ଖାଇବା ଟେଷ୍ଟ ନ କହିବା ଭଲ। ସେଇ ଜଉ ପାଣି ଅଛି ସେମାନେ ସେଇଟା ବାହାରକୁ ନେଇକି ଗଲାବେଳେ ଯାଇ ବି ଦେବେନି, ପିଇବା ଅଛି ଯଦି ଏଠି ପିଅ କହିବେ । Better restaurant ଯିବ ଆଉ କଙ୍କଡା ଖାଇବାକୁ।
