Brian Littrell wrote this song for his mom. Nick doesn't get along with his mom but all of the others are close to their mothers.
It's so weird not to hear Nick's voice on a BSB song alone though.

Brian wrote this song for his mom.
When Brian was 5 he was in the hospital for a month with a staph infection and congenital heart defect and his parents were told that he wouldn't make it. He credits his mom, whom he wrote the song for, and his family's prayers with his surviving. He had open heart surgery when he was 25 years old.
I had the pleasure of meeting Brian’s Mom and spent some time with her. She’s the most beautiful, loving down to earth southern lady. She raised a wonderful son.

Brian's mother and father are still living. They're from Kentucky, and Kevin, the tallest one with black hair, is Brian's cousin. He's the one that recruited Brian.

I just absolutely bawled my eyes out everytime I would listen to this song because it just hits home that mom's teach their kids SO much and now that I'm a mom to 3 girls, it just makes it feel more real.
I miss my mother every day. I will never not appreciate these dedication songs.

Dedicate this to my grandmother who passed away when I was 15. She raised me from birth, and she was my perfect fan. Sad I wasn't there to say goodbye before she took her last breath.

@@RitsychServare I’m certain him being sick was a cover story. If it was a song like I Want It That Way and he was sick they would’ve found a way to make it happen. Not having a good relationship with my mom I can certainly understand why Nick would not want to have a solo part of the song, and it being the 90s I think the label thought the truth would be to scandalous.
@@NevadaLamb totally agree, it was most likely a cover story and you are very right that it would've been something of a scandal that Nick has such a bad relationship with his mom that he didn't want to do the song. from everything I've heard about her, I understand why he stays away from her.

No. Brian's (the one that looked up to the sky) mom is still alive. All 5 of their moms are still alive. But, AJ's (the one on the far left with the power vocals), lost his grandmother who was like a second mom to him literally 2 years after that disney concert.
