I don't ever listen to mixtape but this is arguably the BEST mixtape I've ever heard!
Sometimes it's great like J. Cole or Chance but most of the times it's totally shit because they're up and coming, production isn't up to par to be considered good. But in this case Chance has an amazing production team with him and J. Cole is just flat out a great producer himself.

I love the way this young crop of rappers (Chance the Rapper, Childish Gambino, Nova Rockafeller, Joey Badass, etc.) are able to slip in deep songs amongst the songs that have a more typical message. Most rap is braggadocios and macho, and each of them are skilled at that as well, but they also include songs that show vulnerability and humanity. It takes guts to admit that we are all lonely, depressed, or apathetic at times, or to take a brutally honest evaluation of you/your situation. I not only admire their skills when it comes to writing, word-play, etc., but also their guts and honesty. The best art is often the most honest/raw.

Honestly the second verse is one of my favorite hip hop verses ever... it's not only about the lyrics and the flow but the beat works beautifully with it all... love this song
the subdued nature of Chance’s voice and him sounding younger really kills me at the end. It’s the simple emotions of wanting to be wanted but the rest of the song makes it feel like I’m watching a soldier who knows they are about to walk into an i winnable war bid their loved ones goodbye. His vocals lowering in volume makes it sound like he’s already gone.
Chance the rapper is one of my favourite artists now, an artistic genius. This track is simply phenomenal as is the whole album.

I got this idea that it is more him looking at God. Acid Rap is him looking God in the face, partially to the hallucinations, euphoria and experiences with the psychedelics. You can definitely feel that Eminem influence in his flow, especially during Paranoia. That's one of the things I love most about Chance, he has so many different flows and voices and they're all amazing in their own original way.
