This song was really really special. They wrote it for Army cuz they were going through a lot of hate and they understood how tough it must have been for Army too. I remember a lot of Army's were up nites to counter the hate hashtags, the horrible comments on naver, the constant media play up of the hate in SK and even antis even made their way into the fancafe. Army's were reporting everywhere, counter-trending hashtags etc. It was exhausting for both the boys and Army so they wrote this song. Then, Army sang it back to them in a surprise event. This is one of those songs that will forever hold a special place in a lot of our hearts.
2!3! was released in 2016. On of the most stressful and problematic year for the group and the fandom (a lot of hate were directed towards them saying that they plagiarised, that they don't deserve the awards they were getting, there were even projects from antis to ruin their concerts)
This is a really touching song because it was BTS' promise to the ARMYs. BTS had written/produced this song dedicated for the ARMYs as the first official fan song. Before the song was released on 2016 there was a long period of time when BTS and ARMYs were receiving so much hardships and hate from other people. ARMYs kept on counter attacking those hates while BTS are defending the ARMYs. The amount of hate that BTS are receiving compared to other groups are ridiculous. Up until now, the question "what has BTS done to deserve all those hates?" still lingers on us. They've always been very humble, down to earth and respectful towards others. It's so unfair why people have to hate them and try to ruin their career. It was so hard at that time, then the song came out on OCTOBER 10, 2016 (track #14) and it made us all cry. BTS knew that as they went through every hardships along their journey, the ARMYs are going through the same and yet the ARMYs still believe in them and fight for them no matter what. It's like BTS is telling us that it sucks that we really can't walk on a perfect path without struggles and without receiving hates from other people but still everything will be okay as long as we are together walking at the same path and never stop believing in each other. I remember, after that BTS went live and they said that no matter what happens, we have to protect each other always. They usually perform that song at the encore part of their concerts, they let the fans sing with them and as the music ends the fans continue to sing without the music and that's one of the most beautiful parts of their concerts. BTS had already released a bunch of fan songs for the ARMY (like Magic Shop, Pied Piper, Love Myself, Mikrokosmos, etc.) but "2!3!" will always be that song that holds a special place in our hearts that no other song can replace.💜 And yes, BTS/BIGHIT/ARMY is a family. This song is very special because this was the time when a lot of fandoms teamed up and started a lot of issues towards bts and trended hate hashtags targeting specific members. Every single lyrics speaks from their hearts. It was a rough year (2016) and other fandoms were more outraged when bts won their first grand prize that same year instead of the other group, saying it was out of charity and stuff. But it was also the end of darkness for them bc the next year (2017) was the start of their "more good days". They really made it happen and I'm so proud of how BTS and Armys have become💜

The boys never gave up, armys are still fighting for them. At that time I was still a baby army but I know whats going on in every concert or award shows. They were the most hated group that time, the pain that inflicted to bts and army ran deep. This song is to comfort Armys who usually cry because of the attacks of the other fandoms. Living the concert halls and award shows crying and scared because of the threats. Thats why this is my fave song of them. Its still hurts reminiscing those times but Im glad the boys has been better now. Thats why armys are really rooting and fighting for them cause we know their hardships.💜 Thats why BTS has many comforting songs its because they themselves been thru so much at a young age. The reason why 2!3! is so special is it's different from common fan songs. usually idol's fan songs are like "let's be happy" "let's walk only on flowery path (it's a korean buzz word for saying 'wish you all the best/happily ever after')". but bts have gone through too many trials so their fan song is be like "erase all the bad memories. just hold my hand". also there's still a lot of hardships (antis, racism, broadcasting station power abuse, etc). they know they can't be always happy now and forever. so they're saying "I can't talk hopeful. i can't say let's walk only on flowery path or just be happy. because it'd be a lie", "but still i hope there'll be more good days."

Their whole goal was to confort and heal people with their music, so it make sence that they put all their love and care into their fans. All their songs are for us, they used his experiences to talk about mental issues and struggles to help others. And the songs direct talking about ARMY are like a thanks letter to the ones that help them get through tuff times. (that where a lot of struggles so we have a lot of songs)

The concept of ‘just count 1,2,3 and forget’ may not work for all people so I get why some people might find it weird (because we all know that it’s not simple like that). But for me, and i guess for a lot of other armys, this song definitely gave us comfort and made us hope for better days. The lyrics, “just believe me,” and, “because we are together,” hit me all the time because it is through their songs, and through their personalities that I was able to laugh and find myself smile again. When I was still on my darker days, this is one of their songs that made me look forward and gave me motivation to start anew. Magic shop has similar feels that’s why it’s my current favorite bts song 💜💜💜

I have a separate playlist for army songs like these and you’re right DT their songs are universal we can apply it to our day to day lives. For example if I’m having a hard time at work I just play 2!3! on my break and my spirit just gets lifted then on my way home I listen to 00:00 and Magic Shop. My concerns will not magically go away but I would feel that I am not alone in this path. So many army’s find healing and comfort in BTS’ songs and I believe that’s one of the reasons why BTS wrote their songs: so we can find healing and comfort on each other through their music. 💜

Year 2015 to 2017 was rough time for army and bts. It was constant battleground online between army and haters. There were multiple death threats to members, ridiculous claims and rumors and so on. Many armys got physically exhausted and left the fandom at that time but also mamy new army joined in at the same time. It was chaos. And this song came out. This song gave me comfort but i was too traumatized to listen and to remember that time for couple years. Im good now though. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

This is the way I see it. Before wings album (the home of this song) released both BTS and armys are struggling. You myb already know the big picture. How the industry treated them, the haters attacked them, and armys were outcasted by kpop community bc we are their fans. The boys ofc didn't talked about it much while armys just endured the same. I think BTS is the only band that has fans from all paths of life. They have fans from a new born to 80yr old person. Therefore most of the songs are for ARMY and there would be atleast one song dedicated for social cause in their every album.
yes pretty many bts' songs are singing to army, but 2! 3! is special because it's the only official fan song. other songs are like love songs that also can substitute it as for army (they're singing for army indirectly - ex. boy with luv, make it right, save me...), but 2! 3! is a song just only for army not for public.
Since you mentioned RUN BTS it really gets funnier after each episode once your reach 65-66 you'll just laugh through out the episode and especially the episode at the water park in 77-78 and so on. I find ! 2!3! (han-dul-set) and Young Forever are the kind of the songs that BTS and ARMY sings for each other especially during tough times.

We were singing this while waiting for the show to start and it's so amazing to hear everyone sing it and then at the end of the concert, this was the 2nd to the last song performed and they let us sing the last few lines and it's really something i never thought i would ever experience in my life 💜 they sing these kind of songs to ARMY because BTS and ARMY suffered together and fought for each other non stop. they fought by giving quality music and performances even on low budget while ARMY fought by continuing to support them by defending them from haters and spreading BTS love all over the internet. the boys are watching reactors too, so when the time comes that their tour can start i hope they notice you in the crowd 💜💜💜💜
This song is very special because this was the time when a lot of fandoms teamed up and started a lot of issues towards bts and trended hate hashtags targeting specific members. Every single lyrics speaks from their hearts. It was a rough year (2016) and other fandoms were more outraged when bts won their first grand prize that same year instead of the other group, saying it was out of charity and stuff. But it was also the end of darkness for them bc the next year (2017) was the start of their "more good days". They really made it happen and I'm so proud of how BTS and Armys have become💜

Actually this song is for army, back in 2016 BTS and Army have been thru so much. The black oceans, the baseless rumors all of it causes by the 5 fandoms. The boys never gave up, armys are still fighting for them. At that time I was still a baby army but I know whats going on in every concert or award shows. They were the most hated group that time, the pain that inflicted to bts and army ran deep. This song is to comfort Armys who usually cry because of the attacks of the other fandoms. Living the concert halls and award shows crying and scared because of the threats. Thats why this is my fave song of them. Its still hurts reminiscing those times but Im glad the boys has been better now. Thats why armys are really rooting and fighting for them cause we know their hardships.💜 Thats why BTS has many comforting songs its because they themselves been thru so much at a young age. Thats why I respect them as an artists and individual. They are humble and good people.💜
The reason why 2!3! is so special is it's different from common fan songs. usually idol's fan songs are like "let's be happy" "let's walk only on flowery path (it's a korean buzz word for saying 'wish you all the best/happily ever after')". but bts have gone through too many trials so their fan song is be like "erase all the bad memories. just hold my hand". also there's still a lot of hardships (antis, racism, broadcasting station power abuse, etc). they know they can't be always happy now and forever. so they're saying "I can't talk hopeful. i can't say let's walk only on flowery path or just be happy. because it'd be a lie", "but still i hope there'll be more good days."

The concept of ‘just count 1,2,3 and forget’ may not work for all people so I get why some people might find it weird (because we all know that it’s not simple like that). But for me, and i guess for a lot of other armys, this song definitely gave us comfort and made us hope for better days. The lyrics, “just believe me,” and, “because we are together,” hit me all the time because it is through their songs, and through their personalities that I was able to laugh and find myself smile again. When I was still on my darker days, this is one of their songs that made me look forward and gave me motivation to start anew.

I have a separate playlist for army songs like these and you’re right DT their songs are universal we can apply it to our day to day lives. For example if I’m having a hard time at work I just play 2!3! on my break and my spirit just gets lifted then on my way home I listen to 00:00 and Magic Shop. My concerns will not magically go away but I would feel that I am not alone in this path. So many army’s find healing and comfort in BTS’ songs and I believe that’s one of the reasons why BTS wrote their songs: so we can find healing and comfort on each other through their music. 💜

It seems to me that especially in later years, every song about love and close friendship have been written either to ARMY or to members of the band and relationships within the band, because they are more than a band, they are family. BTS' music is always real, and never manufactured to fit a niche - they write about their lives, their struggles and the people they love. That's why I am still here.

Year 2015 to 2017 was rough time for army and bts. It was constant battleground online between army and haters. There were multiple death threats to members, ridiculous claims and rumors and so on. Many armys got physically exhausted and left the fandom at that time but also mamy new army joined in at the same time. It was chaos.
And this song came out. This song gave me comfort but i was too traumatized to listen and to remember that time for couple years. Im good now though.

This is the way I see it. Before wings album (the home of this song) released both BTS and armys are struggling. You myb already know the big picture. How the industry treated them, the haters attacked them, and armys were outcasted by kpop community bc we are their fans. The boys ofc didn't talked about it much while armys just endured the same. If there was hate attack targeting the boys appeared, armys just tried burried it by sending more love messages through socmed platforms available. We didn't want the boys see it (but the boys were aware of it eventually haha) So we were just being silent in our pain. Then this song released as BTS said it themselves that this song is dedicated for armys practically telling us "let's make our own happiness just between us". This song holds special meaning for us

As a music writer, I can honestly say that writing a song that affects people as their songs do is really hard. Yes, there are very few artists that can write a song or two that can affect everyone of all ages. BUT BTS writes every song that affects people of all ages, gender, race, etc... I know ARMIES everywhere will 100% agree with me as well.
This song was born when BTS n Army face so many hardship n sad days from 2015 to 2016. BTS get attacked n slandered from so many false accusations n antis trended a hate tweet that gained an attention from journalist (such as plagiarism n sajaegi/chart manipulation etc). The boys got curses by people who believe with that rumours at that time because no way an unknown small group from small company can have a big album sales that beat some of senior group that more famous than BTS in korea (it was in middle 2015, when BTS win their first win on music show program. At that time, BTs is still unknown in korea, but they already get lot of attention n fans from international. But lot of korean didnt know about that, that why they make false accusations that BTS n Bighit doing sajaegi n their can win with dirty way). Also from plagiarism accusations from haters just because they use same hair colour with other kpop big group and their previous album photoshoot concept.
It was a dark n depression year for Army, most Army feel stress out coz we really sad that the boys got attacked n people believe with the rumours n accusations. Bighit even went to the court to clear their name that they didn't do sajaegi with give a document about their sales. International Armys who bought BTS album also sent their receipt to bighit so they can use it at the court as proof. And even the results bighit won the case and the court clear their name, but haters still called them sajaegiboys (even until now).
On 2016, when Wings album was released, the boys give us a comfort n strength through this song, that everything will be allright n we can through this hard day. That why this song feel very special for us coz the boys knows that we are sad for what happened n they comfort us with this fan song and this also our first fan song that BTS create for Army.

I think BTS is the only band that has fans from all paths of life. They have fans from a new born to 80yr old person. Therefore most of the songs are for ARMY and there would be atleast one song dedicated for social cause in their every album.

yes pretty many bts' songs are singing to army, but 2! 3! is special because it's the only official fan song. other songs are like love songs that also can substitute it as for army (they're singing for army indirectly - ex. boy with luv, make it right, save me...), but 2! 3! is a song just only for army not for public.
Since you mentioned RUN BTS it really gets funnier after each episode once your reach 65-66 you'll just laugh through out the episode and especially the episode at the water park in 77-78 and so on. I find ! 2!3! (han-dul-set) and Young Forever are the kind of the songs that BTS and ARMY sings for each other especially during tough times.
