I went to the game and as a lifelong Rangers fan, have found it difficult to watch anything about the final. This is the first. Rangers are the finest fans in the world and have the best repertoire of songs. It is therefore interesting to compare them with Frankfurt fans who many think of as the noisiest fans in their country. Now I know German football well having lived and worked there for more than 12yrs and believe me, 25yrs ago, Frankfurt along with all other German fans were pretty quiet. The revolution started in the 90’s when I remember the Dortmund fans recording on portable cassette, every song from the Rangers away fans. They were fascinated by us and determined to do something similar. With typical German efficiency, Bundesliga fans have become a fan masterclass. At first appearance you’d have to say that. However, they’ve done it so well it’s more like watching a perfect marching band with intricate steps, mesmerising moves reeking of disciplined precision throughout. There’s very little passion, or spontaneity, it’s all very contrived and perfectly planned to the split second. In Seville, the groups of Frankfurt fans in the streets did little or no singing, Rangers groups danced, drank and sang for 3 days and nights. However, once in the ground, every Frankfurt fan appeared dressed exactly the same, carried the same colours, hats and flags. They then, at precisely 3mins before the game started their immaculate performance and it seemed like they all carried a running sheet, meaning that regardless of what happened on the pitch, they suddenly burst into the next part of their show. It was gloriously precise and impressive to watch. Goodness knows what they would have done without modern, highly accurate iPhone clocks, or some parts of the crowd would have been embarrassed by starting their part too early, or even more embarrassing for a German, too late! I can just imagine everybody being handed the match running order performance sheet outside the ground and instructed to synchronise their watches before passing the turnstiles. So yes, Frankfurt fans were impressive, but lacked spontaneity. They were perfect yet almost too perfect. Rangers fans on the other hand had all manner of different clothing, tops and teeshirts including a lot of anniversary white shirts that blended well with Frankfurt! They sang day and night, certainly without the precision of Frankfurt, but with a passion that matched the ebb and flow of the game. They were chaotic, noisy, funny, rowdy and gloriously up and down as the match played out. Their song repertoire was immense. So much as I enjoyed the marching band performance of Frankfurt, who were friendly and very well organised, given the choice, it’s the passion and song variety driven by emotion and history formed out of generations of highly loyal supporters that I’d prefer any day…
hell of a comment mate it gave me an insight into german supporters that i never knew , i hope we hav gained a lot of support and respect from german fans , we gave are all that nite and i feel we could have nicked it at the end but thats football , what a journey what a team WATP , belfast bear .

The common thread here is that EF made more noise during the final. That might be true. If it was, i'll wager it was because so many Rangers fans were of an age they knew this was their last chance to witness a big Euro win. Nerves played a big part. Plus, Rangers fans were everywhere. EF were in one place. Had we been all together we'd have blown EF away. I was in the EF end as were hundreds of Rangers fans. When we all joined in we drowned them out. Nobody ever makes more noise than us when we are in one place. If you believe that, you've got zero experience of us except this one night. After the match it was like a funeral march from the stadium. This is modern football. If EF had beat us 30 years ago, the Spanish army wouldn't have been able to protect their fans. Not suggesting that's anything to be proud of. But Rangers would have ransacked Seville and EF's fans after losing back then. Doubt it? Ask the police in Barcelona...

@@kleinkalibar7486 the truth is the stadium was full of the imposter supporters club with money & connections. If you put 50/50 rangers /eintracht the atmosphere would be magic. But the hobnobs see it as a good day out and pinch the tickets from real fans.
Rangers fan's in this clip about 90% never had a ticket out of over 100.000 who made the trip.I saw kids with tickets plenty of girls as well so many of the vociferous fan's went to 2 other empty stadiums not being used to watch on large screens .I understand the young kids are the future supporters but so many of the noisy hordes never got a ticket plus for the first time ever Rangers fan's expected the club to win the Europa league esp after knocking Dortmund then RB Liepzig out both were favourites to win it after dropping down from the Champions league. Rangers did incredibly well our team cost 12 million to assemble but it was a chance lost against Frankfurt who's fan's part own the club (i heard)the Frankfurt fans were all in White very organised and in synchronization in everything they did .At the last Euro final Rangers were in against Zenit st Petersburg they only brought around 10.000 fan's Rangers crossed the border with over 150.000 fan's. The stadiums should be much larger capacitys 40.000 is too small for British and German teams in a Euro final .
