Smh so much hate in these comments. I'm fully disabled, it's not a choice I just made one day. I didn't choose to have to live off the government bc trust me, it's not enough to barely survive. I also get ssdi, not ssi so I get $ off what I paid in. We get a "raise" for cost of living every year, my raise was all of $35/month & they took $20 in food stamps. Thanks GOD working from home is another option to earn income. Instead of focus in what we cannt do...maybe we should focus in what we can do to earn some money.
This is a different subject but
I wish the city can provide a center where elderly and disable people can learn job skills so we can work from home.
It could be good for our mental health, self esteem and economy.
A median age neighbor had a stroke a year ago.
After the stroke she has no mobility on her right arm and has not full strengh on her right leg. She uses a walker. She felt so bad and helpless at the beginning. However, she has been learning to do almost everything with her left hand!! ,(not driving unfortunately)
Having a disability doesn't necessarily mean we cannt work.
Of course it depends on what kind of disability.
