- We went fishing nearshore reefs in the Gulf of Mexico with light tackle and did not expect these kind of bites so close to shore.

I'm new, but man this is some of the best fishing content I've seen.
you are the king of saltwater
Love me some Orange Beach!! Also, thank you for your service! 22 year vet myself..
Thank you!
Great fishing video with some really nice fish
Man if it was snapper season you would be eating good!!! Nice fish!!
For realll!
Dude, Great job with all the new subscribers, I've never seen growth on a fishing channel like this at all, Good work and keep it up👍
Love your videos
Appreciate it much!
I just got the exact boat here in Pensacola. Love to see the capabilities of this little boat. I have only taken it into the bay so far but very excited! Great content man… 👍🏼
Sweet! It's a fine boat for sure, not much I'd change about it.
Light tackle reef jigging is so fun! Keep up the awesome videos
Great video you caught some good fish 💪💪💪🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Lots of fun Catching Reef Fish on Light Tackle! Enjoyed The Video!
Always a good time, even after getting beat by a couple haha. We're going to get back out there and get one on Fly. just need a dang calm day hahaha
Heck yeah!
Even though season was closed for triggers and snapper, it's still a blast catching those nice fish. I've used the z-man baits in Steinhatchee and been successful with them as well. Your Scout does really well in the Gulf.
Always enjoy your videos!
Just moved to OB in September and have been learning a TON from your videos man - thank you for sharing!
Love the new inshore reefs
Great video! Love the boat! Stay safe!!
Man I know that was a blast on light tackle. It really is a treat to take my small bay boat out to the Hugh Swingle reef area off of DI on a flat day... Watching this video definitely gives the urge!
Thanks guys! Awesome video! Your videos are always a treat!
I like your show. I hope that you're doing well. You stay loyal to fishing and finding fish for you to eat
Love watching your videos just wish I could live in the area or close to it anyway, always wanted a place to live close to the ocean, great video man. Tight lines 🎣🎣
BAM...snowed all day sunday...didnt stick...37 degrees...thank the LORD.....supposed to do it againt friday here in north GA....temp then????25....oh wow..wish I was down there with you brother.....I really do.....LOL
Whew, no snow here yet! haha. Warm weather will be here soon enough.!
5:22 good throw🤣
Haha. Had to throw them hard into the water to get the chunks to sink cause the wind was keeping em up top ! And it was left handed 😂😂
Glad to see someone else using the Ned Rig in saltwater. I kill the trout and reds in the saltwater creeks with a simple Ned during the winter.
They're great all around simple lures! I enjoy using them for sure.
Interesting. I'm going to be in your area next month and was wondering how my "Freshwater" tackle would work. Now I will certainly be bringing some.
Dang good video, very good information and content ✅💥✌️
Thank you!
Killer trip! Jealous…
Thank you, it was incredibly fun to get em on light tackle. We did not expect to hook into the size snapper we saw on these reefs! They were good ones! Redemption is coming haha.
Love the content
Nice
Shame you couldn't keep a few
of those fish for supper with
fried taters
Thanks for the video
Nice! Always a good time on light tackle, I think our snapper population is alittle too healthy lol me and bearded Brad caught about 100 today it seemed like
Speaking of fish population, triggers are way populated enough to increase the bag limit during the short seasons. This vid even shows that!
Awesome! Any size? We lost some 15 lbers that we chummed up and broke our light tackle leader. Only problem, the bigger ones where we fish will not hit a heavy setup (they're "smart" as you know) haha
@@BamaSaltwater yessir them sows don’t get big from being dumb 😅 and they were all about the same size y’all were catching
You have to go back to that place when the red snapper are in season
Yes for sure!!
37 and snow here in KY, looked like a beautiful day. Surprised to believe those reefs are that close to shore. Are those public numbers?
All public!! They just don't want heavy tackle. Hard to get em up on light tackle but we at least were able to get em to eat.
Another fun video. Shows what you can do in the Scout. BTW, what size is that camo Aftco jacket? Looking to get one and I believe we're more or less the same size. Thanks.
Thanks, and it's a Medium! Still room underneath to be able to layer properly. I like it
@@BamaSaltwater Good deal. Thanks for the info. 👍
I enjoy your videos & subscribed. I like your boat - what is it? Thanks.
Thanks! And it’s a Scout 177 Sport
That was a fun packed day!!! Have you been back to the same reef when snapper or triggerfish season was open? If so, how did you do?
I was able to take me one home!
@@BamaSaltwater Nice!!!!!!!
I'm coming down in April in hopes of getting revenge on the stud that broke me off last year. 80lb braid, a fresh 50lb floro leader on a 120 series spinning reel and I was STILL outmatched.
Poor Dusty
What is your favorite reel and rod combo
What are a rod and reel that are perfect for 65lb braid
Stupid regs on red snapper lol just to keep the market for them stupid high. Keep them on the dl not in the cooler
Is that Pac Salt a 1 or a 2?
I want to say its the Salt 1! But I can't remember. I had traded Dusty for it. I have a few nice Spydies at the house but I use this one because of that H1 steel being so corrosion proof on the boat haha.
There is over 100 million red snapper in the gulf of mexico alone lol
there *are* over
May have missed it in the video but how deep of water was that ?
24-40 feet depending on the reef we chose! We lost the bigger fish in 24 feet of water
@@BamaSaltwater nice … it’s about a 10 mile run to get into 30 ft of water for us in MS … closest reef I’m aware of in that depth is about 20 miles .
How far out is that?
Couple of miles
of all my days as fishing for food to survive , watching a man fish for fun and through the fish back is a sad thing to see, it is not for any reason but fun, at least take one home and show us how to clean cook and enjoy, you already teach us how to catch them. good lesson
Sure is a shame those Red Snappers are so rare huh!!
IKR lol
How is the trout population in the Gulf these days??
I dont agree with that so keep big ones let the babies go. I dont like crooks
