I agree, glad to see another 5th gen owner commenting. Unfortunately there aren’t too many older ones out driving around these days. Thanks for watching!😎
I had somewhat the same setup. I put a 2.45 upper pulley with stock lower and a BTR stage 3 cam, Corsa exhaust and ended up at 670 rwhp and 658 torque. My updated build is now 957.6 rwhp and 846ft. Lbs of torque. ✌️.
Sweet ride! You should be happy with those numbers... When we first tuned our '13 ZL1 it had similar mods and cranked out 585whp added E85 and a pump and hit 630whp... dinged the cam on a bad lifter... Bored and stroked the motor (419cid) complete overhaul, K1 forged lower end with Wiseco pistons, ARP fasteners, BTR stg4 LSA/LS9, TSP .660 springs and SS valves, Melling 355hv, NW 103mm TB, 1400cc inj., CAI, brick, 2.55/9.17 pullies, AFCO dual fan, Kooks with offroad cat delete, mild to wild, Mighty Mouse, 3600 stall... good for a solid 715/698 in a convertible! I see more mods in your future.... I am looking at sway bars and roll cage. More power would require a larger supercharger...
Absolutely, I’m very impressed with the numbers it put down. And that’s awesome, sounds like yours has quite a bit more than mine done to it. I’ll definitely do a cam and E85 in the near future.
Watching your videos. Was there issues with the jennetty tune? I have the same set up including jennetty tune minus throttle body and have pfadt try y headers and off road cats. I would hope to get similar results with a dyno tune.
Fun content! I want to buy a 5th gen ZL1 but I've heard the weight of the car is pretty frustrating. It takes a fair bit of upgrades to surpass other cars like the gt500 and hellcats. Based off of the mods you've done in this video would you say its significantly faster now? Great video!
Thanks! Honestly these cars don’t require that many upgrades to hang with or even beat hellcats/Shelby’s. I did simple bolt ons here and put down 615 whp which is over 700 crank horsepower. That’s about on par with a hellcat and 300ish pounds lighter. So I’d say the 5th gen ZL1 is a very good bang for your buck. They are still very heavy at around 4,100 lbs though. You also can’t beat the magnetic ride. Thanks for watching!
@@blurayzl1 wow dude, you blocked me? I was geeking out on your car is all, i got my vert same color and its now in texas the night before i flew i gawcked at your page in anticipation of getting my own. Lol
Looking for a 2013 zl1, i want to get the manual but i have no experience in a manual car. Is the automatic transmission worse than the manual when it comes to making power or is it really just down to preference?
Technically an auto will always have more of a drivetrain loss from the crank to the wheels when making horsepower compared to a manual. Overall though you can still make as much power with an auto. Basically comes down to preference.
Just bought a 2018 ZL1 today, super stoked to start my build... All us ZL1 owners should start a meet a couple times a year and push content....
That’s an awesome idea, I would definitely meet up for a ZL1 content day. Congrats on the purchase!
Just started ZL1 shopping. 13/15 year models specifically. I am super excited. Excellent video brother. Super clean ZL1. Subscribed 👍
Nice, you definitely can’t go wrong with a 5th gen ZL1! Thanks for the support! 🤘🏻
@@blurayzl1 Thank you brother!!! It’s on for sure.
@@setunedouche Keep me posted when you find one!
I just got mine in November!
I bought a 14!!!! Murdered Out Black Beauty LOL!!!! I love it👍👍👍👍. HEY CONGRATS ON YOURS BROTHER!!!
I'd be happy right here. More than happy tbh. Very solid numbers for what you have done.
Problem is these get heatsoaked easily
600 whp for first few pulls then prob closer to 500 whp
E85 would be a huge help
Good to come across a older ZL1 we don't get much love no more ...great looking car, I have a 14 convertible ZL1

If this crazy used car market would finally calm down these ZL1s in good shape would be around 30k.
Pretty good numbers for what you have done to it
Nice man not bad! Need that kong X port! Lol

Good choice in shops, CsP did my gen5 and 6zl1. They do really good work, not cheap but worth it imo.
Excellent video
Good choice in mods

"Dinged the cam on a bad lifter"
Lol. I don't think whoever told you that was being honest.
More likely an amateur tuner f'd up your tune

Yeah unfortunately the Jannetty tune was not 100% for me and gave me some drivability issues.
How much boost?
Also what did csp charge for a dyno tune.
Thanks

How many pounds of boost?
Why did you add the breather? I have a similar setup and don’t have it.
It releases excess pressure from the crank case. Since my catch can doesn’t have a breather attached, I added one separately. Good to have.
Fucking sick, im picking up my blue ray vert zl1 and im going to emulate your build brotha!! Bad ass for sure

Automatics usually always make a little less horsepower at the wheels compared to a manual, but it’s not too drastic.
Auto or stick what makes more power a auto or stick shift 5 th gen

What’s the breather for?
It allows excess pressure to escape from the crankcase of the engine.
