I was at this event as a little kid! 6 or 7 years old. This event is one of the reasons why I fell in love with the sport. My mom's friend was dating a bull rider for a few years. Went to his rodeos around WA, went behind the chutes etc. Nothing is more fun. Thank you for posting this video! Crazy this event is on here and I was there! An hour or so away from where I live.
I believe the Gulden family are or were friends of the Shoffner family out of Carmichael, CA....... Anyway, Shannon , Lindsay and Mason are my cousins and I remember them always talking about Buddy Gulden and that he was bada$$ bullrider but I never got to meet him or see him ride. Pretty damn awesome I got to watch him ride in this video....
Are you kidding me? They aren't any ranker. There's just more of them. The PBR is a joke these days. Especially the team deals. Rider friendly bulls. The kids don't practice. We used to get on a crap load of bulls. At least 10 a day. I've been on sale barn bulls that were mean buckers. Some of those guys in the PBR look off more than they ride. The bulls are predictable & they don't fight & aren't mean at all. They do more yoga than Bull Riding. The bulls at top level are all on performance enhancing drugs & it's for humans. It's the same exact stuff the baseball players use. The PBR just doesn't test for that type, in the Bulls cause it's more expensive test. The bulls are on human drugs. Just wait til that comes out. That's a felony, human to animal drug.
Them bulls are just as rank, sure there was a few that did stop or were a little lazy, but in the 2nd and 3rd round they had bulls every bit as good as today's. The riders in this era made em look easier to ride. You can definitely see the difference in these guys then and today's guys techniques and moves.
