I brought three black garbage bags home today and went through them . One had paperwork at the bottom . I checked through it and found an envelope with a credit unions name on it . I opened it and there was a one hundred dollar bill in it . And it's REAL ! I'm so excited ! I framed it and put it on the wall ! Maybe my friends won't laugh at me anymore . Thanks Renee , love your videos !

It would be sad if the waterfall furniture gets demolished. My grandma gave me her set she bought with my Grandpa in 1950. I still own it.
She also had a claw foot tub in her house. I had many times where I got to take a bath in it. Great memories for me. Simple pleasures!
What a spectacular album. Congrats and thanks for sharing. Marianne

Love the idea of you & Taco Stacks doing cleanouts together. I & my kids, have had the pleasure of taking baths in a clawfoot tub. It's in the basement of their house, which is now mine. Grandpa took the old coal bin & made it into his own bathroom, in the 50's. Everyone loved taking baths down there instead of on main floor. I showed a plummer the bathroom one time & he said it was like going inside a time capsule & he loved it. That made me so happy. Really enjoyed your clean out videos. Keep up the great work you do, saving our past.

That big sturdy Rocking Chair in the attic with the big arms reminded me of the one that sat on the porch of my grandparents home back in Iowa. We would travel back to Iowa from Florida during summers after school. Open the house back up after shut all year. Little farming town with a population of about 200. Grandfather before and Grandmother ( during the war were postmasters there) Grand Dad had a big chair like that would sit on the front porch and look down the long road into town. Just rock away on the porch and smoke his pipe. LOTS of memories from those Summers spent there.
Picking blackberries along the roadside, or apples from the small orchard ( FRESH apples pies ) and listening to thew Baseball games on the radio at night... there was NO Tv. And endless horseback riding down the country roads. The little General store owner (good friends with my GranDad) also had a childrens pony ride business set up for fairs and rodeos. He said "If you can catch the ponies out in the pasture.. you can ride them anytime". Ears of corn from the corncrib worked as a bribe to coax them in.

That's a very nice claw foot tub. Some are smaller & shorter, & more suitable for smaller people. I wish you could somehow take that tub & have a safe place to keep it untill you had a place of your own to put it. That's my dream for you sweet Lady, from someone who's probably old enough to be your Grandmother. You've worked so hard. Well done 👍🎉👏👏

When I was a teenager we lived in a Victorian that had a huge claw foot tub. I think it must have been seven feet long. My 6'3" inch dad could stretch out all the way without bumping into the end. It was tall too. I was 5'6" and when reclining the sides were over my head. It could be filled up to my eyes, to the point I had to tilt my head back to breathe. It was absolutely glorious.

Those knotty pine cabinets take me back to Ozzie and Harriet. The blanket chest in the attic looked nice. What no sub shops, those were more frequent than hamburger joints in small Pennslyvania towns in the early seventies. Glad you had Chinese and Italian options. Wow, over 50,000 subscibers, keep up the good work, very nice postcard album.

One of the flats, built in1908, we owned and lived in for a while had one of the claw foot tubes...my late mom always loved it! You make a good sleeping bathing beauty! Love your domestic skill with that "hot-rod" vacuum...I still use my family's 1948 Hoover Upright...works like a charm! You going to show us the items you took for yourself? That vintage card album is worth the trip! I guess they had no phonographs, as i saw no 78 records. Keep the album intact!! I'll keep you in mind...if I have a clean-out...one catch, the continental distance!!

That was a big, beautiful job! And what a wonderful album and you were able to save some great stuff. That claw foot tub seemed to be in perfect condition. The house looks maybe built 1910-1920? with 'updates'. I do hope someone will save that beautiful furniture as it was so well taken care of. I too, wanted a claw foot tub. When my family rented the upstairs of a Victorian, we had a claw foot and it was the best part of that house, other than the stairway and the 1920's Singer treadle sewing machine like the one in the attic of that house. Years ago I bought a tub from a salvage yard not knowing the details of buying. First, they should not have gouges in the finish and the feet must be ones that came with the tub or they will never work. I still have it though ... outside (on cement blocks) and I have the unusable feet in a box. The tub catches rainwater from the roof in the winter which I then store in closed plastic milk jugs for plants in the summer. Not the use I wished for but I have one and it's usable. Hope you eventually get that bubble bath in your dream tub!

I had one of those tubs in my old house with the shower diverter faucet. You need two shower curtains as it surrounds the tub. There is a company called Rebath that refinished the inside of the tub. We had that done and t came out good. We took the tub out and hauled it to the place. It weighs about 350lbs empty. The legs come off to move it. It took four strong men, so nobody got hurt.

This house truly was a time capsule! I hope someone buys it and decides to remodel and not demolish. But I understand people have different tastes and it is up to the next buyer to decide what to do. Sometimes with these old homes bringing them back is a nightmare. It does have some nice features though.
Loved this journey, hope to see other clean outs with just as many treasures coming your way soon!
Maybe at some point you can go through the scrapbooks you found in a bit more detail. Or just a recap on the things you kept ❤️ I’d love to see the Christmas and Halloween postcards.
Just a thought (maybe your friend already considered this) while you are waiting for the house to sell you could place the furniture on EBay for local pickup only. Some of those sets of bedroom furniture might sell because they are a full set. If priced cheap enough someone may drive a decent ways to pick it up. Just a thought. They may even arrange for a delivery service. It’s crazy what some people want in different areas of the country and what they will pay to ship or pick it up themselves by driving
Btw you should definitely stay at a bed and breakfast on your way to Yellowstone that has a claw foot club! Check that luxury off your bucket list
Think I’ll sit down today and sort more postcards so I can sell the ones I don’t want and thus make some $$$ to buy more of the ones I want.
    Have a beautiful day!

Last year my sister and I did another clean out of my brother and sister-in-law s home. They had tons of old mail mixed in with depression glass or vintage toy tractors. Had to go thru every box. Filled three dumpsters. Needless to say my sister and I are both getting rid of lots of stuff.

When I was in my 2nd year of college I lived in an old antebellum house. There was a claw foot tub in the bathroom and I used it every day. I didn't really think anything of it then. Now that I think of it, pretty much everybody had claw foot tubs when I was a little girl. Lol

i stayed in a cabin that had a new claw foot tub. one thing i was looking so forward to. got there and the darn thing was out of service- "part ordered"- sign placed on it. well, that was only the first disappointment with the cabin! lol live and learn!

Love how the windows in the attic go right down to the floor.

Thanks for taking us viewers along for the ride. I've always wanted a big old tub like that as well to bath in. Perhaps someday. Small town, only one grocery store and a couple take out joints, I've been smaller, where that place would be considered "going to town". Glad you got some nice keepsakes, hope the next one isn't far away. 👍👍

I loved you in the tub. We had one when I was growing up and 6 people used it. Later my father installed a shower in our basement. 😊😊
