      I already have D2 racing coilovers but they are horrible on these NJ streets. Potholes are not my friend. Im changing them out for bags. I do have a strut bar but not sway bars yet. It's a slow progress. Im working on a new body kit but need some maintenance work done before I install the kit

    to hell with the haters. Overall, I like what you've got going for this so far. Plus this is a nice sleeper build too in that it's subtle things that you enjoy that won't attract undue attention. I especially like the blue emblems from the hybrid on here as they tie in very nicely with the updated headlights and tail lights.

    I have the same car. My recommendation would be to replace the accelerator and brake pedal with sport pedals. I did that on mine and love it, looks and feels good. I bought it oem from hyundai which is the way to go. I believe around $50 .The sport brake pedal is a rubber slip on, however the accelerator you have to replace the pedal entirely which is fairly easy to do, just a bolt and electrical connector holding the accelerator assembly in place. Also, recommend adding a stick on roof spoiler and plasti dip the rear emblems black

    • @SladeWashingtonSVR
      @SladeWashingtonSVR  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been looking for a new spoiler or low profile wing to replace the spoiler I already have. And I don't want to blackout the emblems. I kinda like the blue. It goes with the black and blue trim theme I'm working on. If u have pics of ur ride send me a pic on insta or on my fb page

But I suggest getting rid of them once they are out of warranty 100k thats when I started having the most problems. Thanks bro! This is a surprising little powerhouse of a car. I drive highway miles, about 80miles a day, so I'm constantly pushing it. I dont know how much torque and hp I have now after the mods so I need to hurry up and get it dyno'd. I still have trouble with the BMWs and other high end V6s, but other turbo Sonatas have trouble passing me and most Mercedes I can beat. And mine isn't even a turbo. I plan to upgrade the manifold to exhaust headers and a hi flow cat soon. Then after a tune up I should see significantly more power. Thanks for the support!

    • @SladeWashingtonSVR
      @SladeWashingtonSVR  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks bro appreciate the comment. Hope u continue to sub. Strut bars help a lot. The stock springs are pretty bouncy so you won't have the control you want until you upgrade to lowering springs or coilovers. Although, you trade a comfy ride for extra stability. I run D2 coilovers and the control is phenomenal but I feel every bump in the road even with the damper all the way set to soft. Just takes getting used to it

    • @SladeWashingtonSVR
      @SladeWashingtonSVR  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      If you love your ride then Hells yeah it's worth it my dude! You can't get anymore bare bones than with the GLS so the way I see it I'm working with a clean slate to tryout what works. I'm not touting hundreds of HP or competing in track times. Nor am I an expert mechanic like some of the internet trolls claim to be that comment on my channel. The way I see it, if someone wants me to just upgrade to a 2.0T then they can very well buy me one and I'd be happy to trick it out. But I love my car all the same. So if you wanna work on your car then fuk it, why not? It's your car. People can say whatever they want about mines but Last I checked, my name was on the title. I love working on it!

    I'll give you a hint... About your fog lights... But since you are running led I'm not sure if it's going to work. I'm currently running hid on my main headlight and fog. I was able to do it to my high beam but one side is brighter than the other. Which I didn't like. Plus you loose your day light. 2nd hint is get a pedal Commander. That's let's you get all the hp and tq out of you sonata. The only thing i s it cost $300 but their are different brand name s but I'm not sure if it's going to Performed the same like the pedal Commander. It's not Noticeable in video but it is in person. That's a big true hp and tq power that you can really feel.

    • @SladeWashingtonSVR
      @SladeWashingtonSVR  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The HIDs in my fog lights work well with my LED headlights so I think I've found a good balance. I also upgraded to a pedal commander. I installed the injen xpedal pro and I can control the tq much better now. Works great.

    I have a 2012 2.4L limited, I don’t think I have the nine speaker infinity system, I have seven speakers so I’m assuming it’s the “dimension” system. This car is very “tinny/not a lot of insulation”. That being said I want to upgrade my audio, I’m not putting in a box and amp. Can I replace my speakers with something better, I think my front drivers door speaker is blown, and is it worth replacing the rear 8’ sub? Have you had any problems with this model year of the sonata? I heard this model year has had a lot of recalls and engine problems. I'm looking to buy a car and there's a 2011 Hyundai Sonata limited I'm interested in but I'm a little hesitant because I'm would be spending about $8,000 on the car

      Every car has a ton of recalls but the major one is the engine recall. There is a recall on this model for engines after about 70k - 80k miles. However I had mine die on me at 120k before the replacement. Other than that its reliable. And gas mileage is fantastic
