- Just a short clip that was funny and cute from pekora's le epic pessi showdown. it is short because i am working on the MONKEY clip which takes obvious priority over life and all things in general

I was largely watching from Pekora and Sora's point of view (opposite teams) and it was cute to see how silent Pekora was the whole time. Everyone in chat was commenting about it but in these situations it becomes more obvious (to JP members) how big the language comprehension gap is when English speakers outnumber Japanese speakers 3 to 1 so the common tongue is always defaulting to English she was bound to become more introverted in such a situation. The same thing happened with Koyori when she was practicing the previous day, Koyori even cutely asked (wrote to) the chat 「分かる人皆さんの英語を日本語にたまに訳してwww」. That being said the funniest development was when people started calling Pekora, Pessi. Also 常闇監督 meme was funny too (Towa's Tokoyami Supervision)
The Pessi nickname has history before this match. The nickname goes back at least to last year's World Cup when Messi and Argentina won, with some Argentinians parading a Pekora dakimakura in a Messi jersey around during the World Cup Final vs France.

Wow what a funny sentence Koyori wrote, I'm sure it's funny because there's "www" in the end of the sentence. I wish I could read Japanese so I could feel the same feeling you had when you wrote a Japanese sentence without writing the translation in the same comment. How sad.

One thing I really like about Pekora is that she always tries to speak English with English speaking members, even the ones who know Japanese.

To be fair, neither Reine nor Ollie explained anything in Japanese most of the time which let the JP sometimes confused until Anya or Zeta had to explain to them.
Even some JP nikkis were asking in Moona's chat to please translate but it was nice everyone got the point across and everyone had fun at the end.
I think to bat for Reine, Moona, Ollie here. They were in charge of Master of Ceremonies and on both teams had functionally completely bilingual people to explain the situation, it's just they didn't translate that often. Iofi spent the most time explaining things out of everyone. While Bae, Anya, Zeta could've explained a lot more but were more or less quiet (for Pekora's team). Even Kiara who frequently dutifully interprets was mostly speaking English aside from her comment about cooking while everyone was playing lol
@@AmagysI mean is kind exhausting translating all the time. I translate sometimes documents in my job, its not in my job description but because I am the only one that is bilingual in my department, I have to do it.
So in the end sometimes is just a pain to be a google translate for everyone.
@@oscarmendez1477 Definitely. I think that's why they were quiet in general. Everyone was to themselves just trying to enjoy the event. I don't blame them just that the JP group was left out pretty often, although there is also a chance that maybe the JP members wanted it that way. They wanted to see how they would fare without any kind of hand holding and just try to understand. All of the JP members there have expressed they want to study and communicate in English more often.
People really NEED to realise, translating IS tough work, and it's even tougher when they are tons of people involved! Just because people are bilingual or polygots doesn't mean they can translate in a whim; that takes a different kind of skillset.
@@SoraRaida I mean I can speak English, Spanish, French and learning Japanese and I can switch around with not much of a problem and I'm not even that good or that fluent with French or Spanish for example (I have hosted or participated in events online or in person with different people with different languages so its not that difficult once you have good organization on things.
Reine and Ollie seem to have good grasp at Japanese so it just seemed more of a less organized situation in that regard but is not a big deal either.
Again I'm not trying to grill these girls, it just feels a little bit mismanaged specially since in Moona's chat a lot of JPnikkies were asking to translate what were they saying and even Pekora and Sora in their streams they seemed to be more focused on their chats probably looking for someone that was translating what they were saying.
Even Pekora said that she didn't understand what was happening most of the time and was just nodding and saying yes or being hyped but just because all the EN girls were doing it. (which leads to the ID to lack organization in the translation department) Again not that big of a deal if Pekora and Sora didn't care much what was happening either.

red team was playing with a very disciplined structure which is thanks to towa and anya reminding them to stick to their positions... the only problem was they have no real defenders at the center back... marine, zeta and gura tried to cover at the back but most of the time they react slow which gave the opportunity for kiara to score one... whenever the ball goes to the center it was all ame at that point, so kudos to her...
