Detroit locker in the rear, Tru-Trac in the front, unbeatable combination...

Pitfall of the TrueTrac: one wheel off the ground and it goes full open. This Torsen style diff will allow one wheel to rotate faster than the carrier, but forces the other wheel to rotate slower than the carrier. When one wheel is off the ground, it will spin faster than the driveshaft while the wheel with traction doesn't spin at all (slower than the driveshaft). There are some driving techniques to overcome this (gassing while on the brakes to slow the spinning wheel). Not great for rock-crawling off road.

I'm running both truetrac and yukon grizzly locker in my Jeep but you really can't go wrong with either. Both have performed great over the years and the only thing I've noticed with the auto locker in the rear is the weird ratcheting sound and faster tire wear but that all was to be expected..

Can that be added to the front on a part time 4x4, engage when 4x4 is engaged? I have a ARB locker on my Currie F9. This axle is aaaaaaameziiiiing such a beast.

I've had 2 Truetracs and the don't last, so I'll try Detroit/Yukon locker next time

If it’s breaking under power step up to a wave trac. It will handle more power

So I recently brought a set of 38 inch tires and I have a 2009 F150 six speed transmission four-wheel-drive and I have no clue and trying to get as much advice as I can. If I should get 4.88 or 5.13 I don’t do any off-road at all but I definitely want to have nice low and torque I mostly only do city driving. If I go on the highway, it’s only an hour away to go to the beach. Opinions please

It doesn't act entirely like an open differential in normal driving. For instance in a vehicle with a split front axle (like a jeep YJ) it will force the front driveshaft to spin while moving. This results in vibration, noise, less mpg, more stress and wear on parts. I guess an air locker is the only way to overcome the front shaft spinning. Or manual hubs.

I just had a Eaton True Track installed in my 2007 BF Falcon and I've noticed a noise coming from it when you back off the gas or coast in neutral. No noise on acceleration, bit strange. Any ideas?🤔🤔🇦🇺🇦🇺
