Hi , Thanks for the video helped me improvise using the plumbing Teflon tape which easily sweeps inside the gaps of the bezel and wrapping is trough right around to protect the surface and forming layers and then using a flat screw driver just pops out with ease on my Kamasu.
That makes the world of difference. You should do it in different places to ease it off. This helps not to scratch the watch.
Looks sweet! Tempted now to do this for mine! Only think I would kinda miss is the lume pip..
I like it, never knew there were bezel options for the kamasu. One thing I never cared for was the scalloped bezel.
Yeah once you get an aftermarket bracelet and change the bezel it's a whole different watch!
My kamasu bezel is so stiff. Warm water and soap loosened it bit, but still extremely stiff.
I'm not of the idea that it makes it more premium, just that the change gives it a more "sporty" look similar to other divers. I think it's a great way to give a regenerating touch to the watch if the insert gets scratched after years of use though.
Thanks for the demonstration on how to change the bezel
Yep the new bezel is less stiff, I'd recommend you go with the coin edge bezel because the sub bezel doesnt have as much grip
Naturally it nipped you putting a dink on it, but it's a story, a memory and a reminder for future mods....that a side it does look much better with the new bezel and insert....🏴⌚🏴⌚
Yeah true it hurt at the moment but when I saw all the other dinks and scratches on the watch I'm like what's one more haha 😆
I love the lume. My only real gripe with the Kamasu is the bezel grip, so I'd have chosen the coin edge. My Kamasi (3) are all on Strapcode bracelets. Good video.
Wow 3 Kamasu? Did you get their Goma bor bracelets ? I always wanted to check them out
@@NorthernWatchClub I have the teal green, cherry red, and black. Bracelets are a MiLTAT Jubilee style, a MiLTAT Retro Razor, and an Oyster style 3 link. They fit well, and become a point of difference to others I see. Bonus is having nicer clasps.
@@blacktoothstavros2606 yeah true I might pick up one of their bracelets too the clasp looks better than the LIW ones, thanks for the suggestion!
@blacktoothstavros2606 how was the fit on all of your straps? I recently sent a MILTAT back because of the huge gap between the case and endlink.
@@CCR1062 each of the bracelets I have fit nicely. The retro razor is my fave 'cause it's very different.
Needs a lume pip.
Bezel Komasu = orient ray ii ?
I agree, the sapphire bezel gives a premium aesthetic. How much was this mod job? What's the difference between using glue to using double sided tape on the insert?
Total came down to 100 USD, I decided to use the double sided tape because with glue if I accidently apply too much it'll come out of the bezel and be messy.
How much did the bezel, bezel insert costs?
Around 80 USD if I remember correctly, check out Long Island Watch's website!
Lumed insert and fact that its sapphire are improvements, mismatched red and case damage are not.
Ya eh I think I should have gone for the black 12 hr bezel instead as I don't have a watch for travelling :/
I like the 'before" bezel
what bracelet s that?
I made another video here : th-cam.com/video/OyTWBXIFCWI/w-d-xo.html it's also from LIW :)
How do I know the bezel it s in zero position?
you have to turn it right and make sure the arrow aligns with the 12 o clock marker
There is absolutely no gap in the bezel any where around my Kamasu for me to pry in the case back opener.
Downgraded his watch. IMO. However, I did learn about the possibility of doing some mods of my watches. I do appreciate that.
Downgrade? I hate the stock orient bezels they are so hard to turn. Did this to mine and made me actually like the watch and wear it.
I agree. Looks worse. But to each their own! If he fucks wittit I fuck with that
That dosent look good at all. The face is the star why put that bezel collor. Thats just ugly!
Thanks for the tips. I did use the less civilized help of the wood chisel on a Victorinox Swisschamp, but i eventually won over it. My problem wasn't replacement, but actually a super stiff action on the original bezel. I lubed the inwards and underside with a little pure silicon oil and it quickly did the trick and the bezel is smoother now. I'll see how it'll be in a few days.
