I read today that the WA grain harvest this year is the third highest on record. An amazing result given the vagaries of the season in many areas. Everybody in WA goes on about mining but gee the grain farmers’ hard work makes a big contribution to the WA economy. The technology never ceases to amaze. It would be an eye opener for many city people.
Fellow Sandgroper here. So glad to have been recommended your channel and I've been catching up on past videos. The bushfire one had my heart in my throat for a bit. I really enjoy your videos, as someone from the city I know nothing about farming and I love the way I feel included in what's happening by your friendly and natural presentation style. Can't wait to see more. 🎉 Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Our debagger leaves a bit as well at last. We cut the bag on either end of cross auger and just pull the bag right on through onto the roller, it leaves the pile on the ground but is about half as much as before.
No doubt you have probably tried to come up with an easier way to get the last bit of grain out of the bag but could you cut the bag off the Debagger leaving a bit if excess to twist up then choke it with a sling lift it with the Telehandler above the Chaser bin the cut the bottom of the bag to empty it? Or roll a bit of timber up in it then sling it ? Just a thought 🤷♂️👍.
I think of you were to do that it would be to heavy for both the telehandler and also the plastic. Would work if there wasn’t as much in the end of the bag like what we get maybe
ATT John: A farmer had a silo emptied in WA. How the heck is that possible and where could they sell it, etc ? Can you do a video on crime in the Ag world ?
I was wondering the same. I'm guessing it might be a visibility thing so the driver doesn't have to look over it to see the grain in the bin? It looks like it is a bit higher than the front wall of the bin when stowed.
Always look forward to your output , us UK farmers would be very happy to cut below 15 but have been cutting at 20 , I did have a though about your rock problem when cutting at speed , and wondered if you could use a thing called Laydar {I think that how its spelt} it is like a camera that looks through the vegetation and would show you the ground and ROCKS , I don't know if you can buy such a device for a header / combine , but if you can't there is a brilliant TH-cam in the U S A who I am sure would love the challenge . would love to see it working. keep up the good work . all the best from the UK Ian
The truck can get the canola away from us no issue so no need to bag. Other reason is as it’s such a small grain it leaks out of the air holes on the front of the bagger creating a massive mess!!
Do screening go up because of the extra angering of the wheat ,is there more broken grain because you put it through 3 more angers(the debager, chaser bin ,the hundred tonner
It's a pity someone hasn't come up with a way of debagging and not cutting the bags, so as to make them reusable. It's an awful lot of plastic to dispose of/recycle.
Doesn’t the humidity in the bags cause increased heat and sprouting of the grain??? . Having worked n grain industry for 25 plus years, know that this causes loss of hagberg

What are your total ton's for wheat barley and canola love your videos.
Hi there what happens when you get a big storm or rain comes threw and all your open top bins are full
Just wondering why they put the augers out when outloading from the debagger into the chaser
I think otherwise the auger is blocking the window. *in the chaserbin
I was wondering the same. I'm guessing it might be a visibility thing so the driver doesn't have to look over it to see the grain in the bin? It looks like it is a bit higher than the front wall of the bin when stowed.
@ yeah i was thinking that
Yer it’s so that the chaser driver can see the grain pile and fill themselves, with the auger down they can’t see

You sounded great.
How many tonne of all your different grains was there and what was the average yields.👍👍
👍
Just aswell harvest is finished if your on for head house keeper hope the kids like beans on toast😂
Have you ever introduced your workers if not wmdo you intend on introducing your crew?
I haven’t, only because they don’t won’t to be on camera and I try to respect that
Waiting for Brian 😂😂😂
Great video John just a question about the debagger. Why don’t u do canola in a bag?
It’s because the canola goes rotten too soon due to the high moisture in the bag
@ oh yeah that’s cool your smart.🤙😎

No they don’t which is good. As it’s just an auger it’s not too harsh on the grain

Yer I agree

Depends, if you are putting grain below 15% then no there is no issue at all. Over that and you can start to have issues
