  • I've been playing guitar with Beau in Saosin since 2016. Since then we've become close friends and musical counterparts navigating through all things guitars, gear, Pro Tools, and a million other music related interests. It was a lot of fun taking a deep dive into Beau's past and learning more about his approach to guitar playing, writing songs, as well as producing/mixing records for Saosin and many other successful bands.

This is EXACTLY what I needed today. The new Circa Ⴟ Survive Ep came out today, & while I like them, I fucking LOVE SAØSIN! I want more SO BAD! It's been 5 long years since Along the Shadow. Plus I can't wait to hear a SAØSIN record with Phil ON IT!! This is my new FAVORITE band

SAØSIN is my favorite band. I've been a HUGE Deftones fan since 1999, I even have a white pony tattoo, but upon discovering SAØSIN, they've become my new favorite. I literally just can't get enough. The albums the dude below (Or above, lol) mentioned are fantastic. And with the the original singer. The self titled album and In Search of Solid Ground are with Cove Reber (now of Dead American) and are absolutely amazing as well. Alex Rodriguez, the drummer is, in my opinion, the sickest drummer of all time

I'm 37 years old and I started playing drums when I was 8, started playing in bands when I was 11, my band could never find a 2nd guitarist that was into heavy shit and we knew a drummer so when I was 15, I said I could totally play guitar, so I had a week to learn 7 songs, Machine Head, Sepultura, Skinlab, etc. and I managed to learn them all. After that first jam session we knew we were onto something. The first guitar I used was a Squire Strat I borrowed from the Vocalist in my band. The 1st actual guitar I bought was an ESP F250 with EMGs and a Floyd Rose. It was actually a nice guitar. I had a Crate GFX 2x12 120 watt combo amp and a Crate 4x12 cab. It honestly wasn't that bad for the late 90's. Then my band started covering heavier stuff like Meshuggah and Nile and writing original songs. I was always the one that wrote the riffs/songs. Good times. Great podcast, love hearing the history of artists.

Writing songs and recording is my favorite part of being in a band. My band always found our sound with mics and a digital 8 track with a mixer. Before the days of Pro Tools and Superior Drummer
