    What questions do you have about medium length hair??

    • @scsmurfette2196
      @scsmurfette2196 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My question would be....what is the best cut for a 60 y/o who can not use any hair products and trying to avoid a pixie because of asymmetrical face. Stylists tell you, “whatever your comfortable with” which I hear “I dont have time for your problems and will not be held responsible in case your not happy with the outcome.”

    • @justinhickox
      @justinhickox 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@scsmurfette2196 I totally hear you there. The tough part is that there isn’t one particular cut that would be best. It’s what you do with the length (layers etc) that will make it work or not work for you. That’s dependent on your hair texture, how you style it, what you like/dislike, etc. Honestly, if you were in my chair, I’d have a bunch of questions for you so we could determine what would be some good options for you. There’s just not one simple blanket answer that would really be fair to give you.

    • @Mibular
      @Mibular 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question. I love putting my hair up during warm months so, longer layer are the best. Keeping my ends healthy is so important.

      I have fine, low density, wavy, medium length hair. Do you have any tips for volume without heat tools? I do have a little bit of layering (due for a trim) and the layers do help. I was wondering if there is anything else I can do.

      I have very thick coarse hair and have always had it cut very short. The pandemic introduced longer hair and I like it my main problem is the thickness, I am 60 and don’t want to have hair that doesn’t compliment my age

    Gorgeous footage, but the water noise is very, very distracting and interferes with what you are saying. Also, I understand how having layers higher up on the head/crown draws the eye up and can have a more youthful appearance, but it would be helpful to see a few examples of this to really understand how this actually looks when it's done right. I have a round face with no neck and medium hair length, and am struggling to find a flattering style that I don't have to spend a ton of time and effort styling. Thanks.

    so wonderful to see that area! We drove through that heart breaking fire in 2017 (actually on the other side of the Gorge as the road was closed on the fire side). It was devastating as we thought of the mind blowing beauty of those trails and waterfalls on that side. So wonderful to see how the forest is coming back as a new growth forest rather that the old growth that it was. The beauty of a forest regenerating is beautiful in its own right. Great video!!

    Great waterfall!! here in Australia we’ve had our fair share of bushfires and I shed a tear in those times for the life of the trees and animals that call them home, but we are lucky that with a little bit of rain (hopefully) new shoots that are greener than green appear quickly 💕
    I have been following your tips for a little while now - we have been in lockdown since end of June, I normally get my roots done every 4 weeks so am looking pretty sad BUT with all the regrowth I definitely have a clean slate when I get to hopefully go back to the hairdressers (in a week or 2) and your guidance on cuts/colour (I’m 58 yrs old and normally not a grey hair in sight ) is helping me sooo much and it keeps me knowing that one day soon I’ll be walking out of my regular salon feeling fresh and put back together - I’ve even bought a new blouse to wear on that day - as that’ll mean (hopefully) back to a normal everyday life and normal hair routine.
    Thank you for your tips they help on a level of keeping me sane as well as letting me sort out what I do and don’t want 👍

      Thank you so much! I appreciate that. I totally hear you, there is an element of daily maintenance that happens with medium length hair for sure. I really don't know what what to do with my hair
    All I know is I want to re grow my hair
    Now just had it cut two days ago ,into a old hairstyle I used have for about 15years before pandemic.
    Was a graduated Bob.
    Which I now see used to suit me then but not now.
    So I can't wait to re grow it.
    At same time too too long does not suit either.
    My hairs wavy to curly hair , more wavy, and my face shape oval.
    I am blessed with good hair , I am saying this because complaining about my hair is not the way .
    I thank God for such beautiful hair.
    Anyway back to my thing
    Just that my oval face has, gotten a little round I've gained weight.
    So I will grow it
    But obviously I know it's a waiting game.
    The thing is I no longer know what's best.
    Long layers or short or maybe grow the layers out
    What shape or style , who knows.
    Any advice for growing it.
    Style or whatever?

    I’m turning 50 next month. My hair has been long and really great for ten years and I’ve loved it. My issue is I am very active and need to pull it back into a ponytail for Jiu-jitsu training (bobby pins won’t work because of head locks etc lol) but I do want a change that is going to be both flattering and fun. I also work in a men’s federal prison (social worker) so conservative hair is better professionally as I don’t want added attention 🙄. I am having a hard time making a decision on medium length styles that will work for my mop of fine hair. Any suggestions?

    • @justinhickox
      @justinhickox 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is a great question! Have you considered possibly a lightly layered Lob Shape? The reason this comes to mind is because it has the ability to be pulled back easily still. Can be worn down and look very conservative or very fun and playful depending on how you dress and style it. Not sure what your thoughts are on Bob’s or long bob shapes though.

      The amount of bangs you can have is determined by your hairline and hair growth. There’s actually a video you can download from the description below that explains how to trim your own things at home and I explain a bit about how to determine how much bang you can have. It may help. The face rimming layers are more about what your face shape is but I do love them.

      Good question! Honestly there are a ton of reasons that can effect that. Could be the type of color, the application (if it's left on long enough etc), the brand of color, the shampoo you're using, heat and styling, sun, chlorine in the water, etc. It's really tough to say and honestly warrants and entire video. I'll consider this topic for a future video. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Love your outdoor adventures that you take us all on. It’s awesome 👏. I’m 63 and have gray with some blond still coming through. Trying to go all natural. Also I’ve always struggled with curly frizzy hair. Now it’s very fine. Just below my shoulders. But I’m so afraid of these so called hair stylist...that don’t listen to clients and start chopping away. I want just trim and thinking of layers. But I don’t know where to have layers or to tell the stylist how to do my hair.

    Having just lived through the massive and devastating Creek Fire in California, my heart broke to see the fire damage to this forest. The damage to the forest from the Creek Fire is indescribable.
    You didn't mention what to do about that annoying flip that occurs in medium length hair. I'm going through that right now and it's a battle. I expect I'll have to suffer through it until it gets a bit longer, or cut it shorter which I'd prefer not to do.

    • @justinhickox
      @justinhickox 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, this fire was absolutely devastating for sure. It was really unfortunate as well because it was sat by a young kid playing with fireworks. It was a really big deal a few years ago. As for the flip, the only thing that I have found to work on most textures is to actually flat iron the The ends of your hair to take out some of that band well it’s going through that stage. Not sure if that helps.

    • @justinhickox
      @justinhickox 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes mam! I have a clip from Peak Design. Clip it on to your bag or belt, then add the connection play to your camera and done. Super simple. It’s a little awkward with larger cameras or lenses but still totally works.
