  • I think the #88 coupe might have been a former Neil Haight car now owned by a Mitchell from McAlisterville . I remember this car setting behind the Hutchinson garage for a short time Mitch worked as a mechanic there . I have no clue as to who drove the #16 sprint car seen being brought in on a trailer . the Yellow #9 car was also a McClure Motors #15 car previously driven by Frankie Thompson.

I went to my first race in '67 at West Capital Speedway in Sacramento. The cars looked very similar and that brought back a lot of good memories. 🙂

Great stuff! It seems so funny to hear “late models”, and every car out there is a tri-5 Chevy! Ha! So much has changed, the only thing for the better being safety improvements! Loved the red pickup truck with fender skirts!

Thanks for the memories. I sat on the front stretch. What a awesome feeling as those supermodifieds came down the chute! Would love to see anymore you have. Especially
from 1966 thru 1969. I am looking for some footage of S-3 which was driven by Ray Dovel.
Bill Nalley had driven it in previous years. Thanks again!

Thanks for the memories. I am looking for some footage that featured Ray Dovel. Ray drove the famous Lee Stultz S-3 super modified and sprint for a number of years before parting ways and building his own late model number 31. If anyone has any old footage from 1965 to around 1970 or 71, please let me know. Ray drove several tracks in PA., MD, and VA. Thank you

Yes the 88 car is Ron Mitchell's from McAllisterville. He is my dad. He is also seen in the video Port Royal 50's, 60's, and 70's. If you have any footage you would be able to get me other than this or if you have any pictures we would be greatly apprciative in trying to get them. Bob.
