Very useful! One suggestion: 1) Remove the pick roller, then 2) remove and replace the separation roller. Then 3) replace the pick roller. The access to the separation roller is much easier this way!
I own a CP1525n, this video helped me figure out what the problem was. The printer said Jam in Tray 2. I didn't have to replace the pick and separation rollers, I just cleaned them with a gentle make up remover fluid, and the issue (Jam in Tray 2) is gone now.
Same here, CP1525NW. Followed videos instructions on how to remove both rollers, including setting the printer in "pickup roller" mode. Then used a bit of acetone on my finger tip and gently rubbed it on the pads. Did that a couple of times. Reinstalled. No more "Jam in Tray 2." Great video! Straight to the point and good camera work. Thank you so much!
Thank you very much, this worked with the CP1525 with no issues, although the new cassette pickup roller assembly is all black. Great video and you helped me out a lot
Hi Jay! I have used this video 2x over the last few years and it has saved me so much money! Thank you. This time I messed up and pulled a spring off from the little housing for the roller. I can see where the spring attaches on that piece, but not where is attaches to. Any advice? Many thanks!
I dont think I can help much since I no longer have access to this model anymore but you can take a look at the service manual to see if anything in there can help. www.partshere.com/manuals/viewer.asp?model=CC378A Hope you can get it back to working condition again.
Very helpful video, though I would have liked it even more if some of the steps were actually shown and not only being described. E.g. turning the printer on the side, then zooming in on where to find the rollers, and also the parts where the pick uop roller is being clipped off and removed. Still, managed to do it!
You can get a second life out of the pickup roller by removing the clip that holds the rubber ring on it and moving it around so the unused portion where the clip was holding it is on the outside... this might work multiple times, haven't tried flipping it inside out
I just changed my pick-up and separation rollers all by myself on my CP1518ni. The only problem I had was getting the smaller roller out and back in. Just when I was about to throw this printer in the trash, it popped into place. I have a piece of plastic left over ?? Not sure what that is for. My printer is no longer screeching when it prints so something worked :-)
It should. If not you may have to print something and yank the power at the exact time the roller rotates. I dont know if there is an easier way if it wont rotate. I never ran into that issue.
Jay, I used your video to replace/clean these rollers to solve my paper jam/tray 2 problem. I have another issue now where by a giant cyan stripe is printed on every sheet of paper that comes out and also seems like there is almost a double printing/shadowing effect of everything printed. Is there something I should clean, replace related to that issue? Full disclosure, I am not using HP branded toner carts.
That sounds like the Cyan toner needs replaced. I would start with that and spend the few extra dollars for official HP toner. Cheap toner is cheap for a reason. Most of time they work but I see way more issues with non HP toner. It sucks but thats how it is. That should fix the stripe issue but if that does not fix the double printing issue you will need to replace the fuser. There is a slight possibility that the transfer belt is causing the double printing also. Easy way to check is to take out the fuser and look at it to see if it has a ghost of the previous print. Do the same with the transfer belt. If this is a workhorse of a printer for you, you may just want to replace both the fuser and transfer belt just to have everything new and fresh. Hope this helps.
I have a printer given to me and it only has USB connection on it. There is a tab covering up the network hole. I took the tab off and there is room for a network adapter card. Where can I get one of those?
I just contacted HP and they say this printer is discontinued and I can't get replacement rollers anymore. Anyone know where I can get my hands on some?
"Press [OK] to rotate" and then pressing OK does nothing on my CP1515n. Can I manually turn it? Also, the holder for the seperation roller is suspended on feathers, those are really easy to lose and hard to reassemble.
pls, help me, i have cp1525 hp, similar yours, mine doesnt print magenta color, other color are ok, also i bought a new magenta cartridge doesnt print magenta, "ni siquiera mancha, nada", what can i do , excuse me about my english.
I really dont know how to fix that if you have all ready tried another toner. You might have better luck contacting HP or asking for help in an HP printer forum.
I bought a set of rollers from China and used your video to change them, works perfectly now and it's quieter too. Thanks!!

Jay - you're a baller. We have one of these we use infrequently but when we need it, we NEED it. This just brought it back to life in a
Thank you so much! Saved me lots of frustration especially on the separation roller.

Thanks for this tip! Saved me in a pinch, because I noticed it was only worn in a single spot. The little feed roller wasn't really warn.

Perfect, Thank you !
Great video! After entering the secondary setup menu, what if the roller does not rotate after pressing the ok button?
It should. If not you may have to print something and yank the power at the exact time the roller rotates. I dont know if there is an easier way if it wont rotate. I never ran into that issue.
If you put the paper tray and toner back in, it should do it.
@@JayGroh i try this and working
I can't wait to try this all out on my HP CP1515N :) I'll let you know how I got on and if it worked :)
Yay :) Took me all of 20 minutes and now my printer no longer 'paper jams' :) Thank you so much !
Likewise, worked for mine! The seperation roller was a bit of a bugger tho.
Thank you very much!!! It works!
Awesome. Helped me a lot. Best regards.
Thanks Jay, you saved me tonight!!!!
Thank you very much, Jay! Great video!
Thanks so much!!!
Very nice tips...

@@JayGroh Great - thanks - I'll give it a shot
Excelente hice lo mismo para la impresora CP1525nw

Thank you soo much, its very much helpful.
Awesome. Being a consumer model, I did't think the rollers were serviceable.
I just contacted HP and they say this printer is discontinued and I can't get replacement rollers anymore.
Anyone know where I can get my hands on some?
There is a link in the description of this video for parts from amazon. One of the first listings is for a roller kit. Hope that helps.
Thanks
Thank you! It did work.
Can i wash the transfer roller?
The music detracts from your video. Thank you for the information.
A proper explanation of how to remove the pick roller would be great, thanks. Not just gloss over it.

Mine wouldn't do anything either unless I put the toner and paper tray back in, then it would.
Great video! Thanks
Thank you !!
thanks for the info, great , but silence the distracting hyper music!

where's the paper jam/paper sensor on this printer?
I cant really describe where but if you search for CP1518 repair manual pdf just search for sensor and it will show you where they are located.
